Do y'all want to hear a funny joke? A guy walks into a grocery store and he buys collard greens to make for a holiday party that he's going to later that evening. The collard greens are organic because that was the only kind he could find. So the guy buys four pounds of organic collard greens and he takes them to the cashier who barely acknowledges his existence despite an attempt at interaction. The register reads $17 and some cents. But that's not the joke part. The guy goes home to prepare the collards and upon unbundling each plume finds that many of the interior leaves of each bundle are not collard green, but collard yellow or collard brown. But that's also not the joke part. The joke part is that the collard greens/yellows come from a store that has disappointed the guy multiple times over many years due to a lack of ingredient availability, price gouging, and questionable customer service. December 30, 2025 This store does not disappoint. IT is clean, organized and staffed with professional service oriented people. Eileen in the deli was kind, personable and was meticulous when filling the order. The meat department cut a bone in rib eye steak when another customer in front of us took the last two in the case. He provided great service without me asking for it. Every employee was friendly in a store environment that provides beautifully displayed products. I am a store manager over in the Promenade center, my assistant went to the fresh market located 3060 Center Valley Pkwy Center Valley, PA for lunch and there were bugs in her fruit. She went to get a refund and the associate was extremely rude and nasty to her! She asked to speak to a manager and he was way more nasty and way more rude to her than the associate. I felt so bad for her and the way she was treated. Fresh Market has the worst customer service in history! How do you feel turning someone away when there were bugs in her fruit! Who does that! A great idea in theory; a fancy grocer with high quality brands offering a boutique experience. In reality? They don't have the inventory turn to support it. Many products are expired or close to it. I was disappointed for the first time with Fresh Market. I stopped before dinner time and the meals were quite empty. Also bought a Banana Bread that ended up to be pumpkin which was mislabeled. Very rude service at the butcher's counter. Butcher got angry when I asked him to separate an order of steaks into two separate bags. He was frustrated because he had already printed the scanner label. He made it very clear to me how upset he was in front of my nine year old daughter and several other customers standing there. Fresh Market is now on my do not shop there list. Their strength (in terms of my eating habits) are their meat/seafood department. They've also got decent selection of dried fruits and nuts that are great for making biscotti. They've got some hard to find things for this area including the Southern specialty Duke's Mayonnaise and a fig spread that goes really well with soft cheese. The one thing I'll say, and it doesn't really bother me because I'm not terribly worried about it, is that for the appearance they give I was surprised to see that the majority of their produce is "conventional" rather than organic. read more

I absolutely LOVE The Fresh Market. Walking into this store during the holidays feels like magic. The music, warmth and smell of coffee could keep me in here for hours. Their prepared food options for lunch and dinner are fantastic. They have a good combination of typical grocery store items as well as a selection of unique products. Produce section is beautiful. At Thanksgiving you can order a prepared meal and it's worth every single minute you get back. Don't forget to add the sweet potato souffle. "Fresh" is a bit of a misnomer. I've gotten two salads from the deli counter that were bad in the past two years, and picked up a fresh chicken once that smelled very off - and was a bit gray in spots. I'd never bought meat before that actually smelled rotten. It went straight into the trash.Their organic lettuce is often brownish and a bit slimy. This is the store I hit when I don't have time to drive the extra two miles to get to my local Giant, and the same brand of lettuce at Giant is always very fresh. So, not-so-fresh, overpriced, not a good selection. On the plus side, there is recorded classical music playing constantly, and tiny cups of free coffee are available. The freebies are always appreciated, but the music selection is too obviously tuned for snob appeal to be completely enjoyable. It seems to me as if real shopping value is sacrificed for theatrics. These days, when even the local Giant food store has a good selection of organic groceries and somewhat esoteric items, a store like the Fresh Market has to do more than LOOK the part of a "foodie" supply stop. Would have loved to have seen a Trader Joe's or similar store in this spot instead of this rather disappointing store. read more

I finally gave up and starting getting my produce at the Giant, or even better the Easton Farmers Markets. Literally 3 weeks in a row, I got MOLDY, yes, moldy fruit, cheese and bread. I am not exaggerating. I wish I was. I wanted to like it here. I have called the store, The Promenade Shops to just tell someone. The Manager of the store had me on hold for 26 minutes, (I actually didn't SIT, waiting, I vacuumed, emptied the dishwasher, lol) then after 26 minutes got HUNG UP ON. Hmm weird. Their produce selection is brutal, and as stated previously is anything but fresh. The employees are actually rude, when you ask a question. After spending months trying to get someone to listen, (yes, I Facebooked their corporate offices, no phone numbers, lol, I don't blame them) On facebook they said "sorry about that", okaayyyyyy. So, in conclusion. I give up. If you risk it, and I mean risk it, (they're prepared foods come in a tub they empty into the cases and write "homemade" on them) choose wisely. Look for mold. It's there. I am back at Giant, and even though it is less "feng shui" the quality is better and bonus; it's ALOT cheaper. (I guess they have to pay for the free coffee somehow) read more

I love The Fresh Market. The problem is that it's a 40 minute round trip drive to visit the store, and my normal grocery store is about a 40 minute round trip drive in the opposite direction. I normally only hit TFM when I need something very specific, or if I'm in the area. Their produce section is fantastic. They are great with labeling the origin of their fruits & veggies - which sometimes is difficult at Wegman's. They do have a great meat/seafood counter that is priced competitively to Wegman's with a huge selection. They grind their beef daily for ground beef/chuck/sirloin and throw whatever they don't use out at the end of the day, so you're guaranteed fresh beef that will last a few days. I've never gotten a snicker when I buy just a half pound of beef at at a time. They do have a huge deli & prepared food section, but I find similar quality items at Wegman's for much cheaper, so unless you are looking for something crazy, you've got other options. If you are into bulk goods (dried fruits, seeds, oats, nuts, etc.), they do have a large section. I buy all of my spices here in the little plastic bags and just refill my jars. I buy some odds & ends when I'm there depending on what catches my fancy: tortilla chips, salsas, and other neat goods. The one major reason I stop here is that they carry Ciao Bella gelato & sorbet, which isn't easy to find in the Valley. They carry over a dozen flavors, so this is my go-to when I need some! They do publish a monthly newsletter that lists their sales - last week they had boneless skinless chicken breast for $2.99/lb. If you don't mind shopping sales, you can get some good deals on various produce & meat items. read more

This is the gourmet market near the farm. It has a great selection of produce and usually flowers (however, this NYE day the roses were all dying and brown which is super unusual). It is located next to a liquor store in The Promenade which makes it a convenient stop when you need beer, wine or liquor in addition to groceries. They have a limited selection of some items so this probably wouldn't be the one stop you would make for the entire grocery list, but it is great for specialty items or when you want something special. It does get crowded on the regualr and parking can be difficult and lines can be really long (to the point of making shopping more difficult). read more

Ridiculous prices ( $10 for 8 oz of mozzarella cheese?) and the freshness is hit or miss. I bought some "fresh" sweet cherries that were mushy, so I returned them. When I tried to make the return, the cashier told me she could only give me a store credit (I paid in cash and had a receipt). The seafood is not bad and some of the bakery goods as well but you're far better off going to a real high caliber supermarket like Wegmans . I've seen terrified moms with small kids! How no one has been killed here is a wonder, Some of the employees are better suited to working at the Dollar store than an alleged upscale market. If it weren't for a few select hard to find items my family and I would never step foot in here, The sale/clearance items are jacked back up in price after a few days. The seating is still a joke. Luckily just a few miles away we now have Whole Foods and while not a Wegmans it is a far departure from this glorified "market". Update 2018: They did away totally with the Artisan French Baguette. Replaced it with something pricier with sour dough. Just like Whole Foods, sour dough baguette. Why sour dough? Gimmicky trendy. Why? Lost a star Fewer reasons now to visit. Everyone agrees, pricey. Though not everything. Their Artisan French Baguette is $2.50 and is occasionally on sale. So what, you might wonder. As a world traveler France factored in largely. Just because a loaf of baked dough is long doesn't automatically make it a French baguette. Fresh Market's Artisan is the closest you will find this side of the Atlantic to the real thing. A little olive oil or butter, some wine, maybe olives from their olive table, and you'll briefly be in Europe. Just now we had some of their crab cakes. OMG, good. Pricey indeed. This afternoon was my first time in a Fresh Market. It was smaller than I expected, but had a great selection of fresh and organic foods. I was a little overwhelmed, scouring each aisle and doubling back a couple times. A little pricier than I'd have liked, but that wasn't a surprise. Probably wouldn't shop here again unless I need some very specific that's organic that the Giant I drive by on the way home from work wouldn't have. The store-made foccacia bread is amazing. If you live in the Lehigh Valley area, this is is the place you should be shopping. Skip the Wegmans and come here it is well worth the trip. The staff are extremely friendly and are always willing to let you have a sample if you're interested in anything. And speaking a samples they almost always have something out for you to try, and if it's a weekend you might even get a personal chef inside the store showing you how to cook certain items! The prices can be a bit high, but they tend to have specials or deals on one or two items in each department. One time I stumbled onto a two dollar crab cake special and it was sublime. Although the store is small and the selection might not be as big as some of the bigger grocery stores what they do have is quality food and at the end of the day that's all that matters. read more

A feast for the eyes! I admit I haven't bought a wide variety of food here. A great selection of oils, olives, condiments, coffees, teas, nuts. You can get freshly ground peanut butter or almond butter either packaged for you, or you may grind your own. I've eaten the sushi bar offerings and they're similar to Wegmans. Gorgeous flowers and a nice looking cheese selection, and it's more "intimate" than Wegmans. I assumed when it opened that it would be more like Whole Foods Market than it is. I wouldn't make this a destination to purchase food as I don't think it's that special, but I do know people who live in that general vicinity who do, and they buy prepared meals there every week. read more
