While I had already sent gifts ahead of today, I wanted to send her a little something to cheer her up: enter Sophie's. I've been following Sophie's on Instagram for a long time and have seen the super cute floral gifts they have so decided to order one for local delivery since I live in another state. I placed the order online and within a few minutes I received a call from Sophie's that they had received my order. They let me know that they had sold out of something in the gift I ordered and asked if I would like to swap it for something else, which was fine with me. I really appreciated the transparency and the super quick call. Barely an hour later, I got a text from my brother that the flowers and candle box had already arrived. How is that for amazing customer service?? Shortly after I received a text from my sister-in-law with this pic. Isn't it so cute?! Needless to say the store employee did not make a sale with me. there was hardly any customers shopping, so I would have thought that the employee could have ensured the price was correct on every item in the store for sale. From now on I will shop for merchandise somewhere else. What a bummer. This is just a reminder if you shop at The Plum Nellie, to check the price before you purchase something.

We did need a gift for folks were were visiting nearby, and we had just eaten at the restaurant up the street, and we had to walk by, so why not take a look, right? Turns out this is a women owned business featuring local artists in photography, art, ceramic, glass and more. Lots of unique pieces. And yes, on the expensive side, but as it turns out less expensive than two other gift shops (including the riverboat) offering the same candles. We were searching for butterflies and the staff were helpful in tracking down every item that qualified. We purchased a beautiful photo and added a frame from Walmart that made our dear friend's day.
