Stopped in to buy an expansion set for an out-of-town friend. He'd seen it there for $24.99, neglected to get it, but now wanted it. Stopped in, found it had been re-stickered for $29.99, but knew he wanted it. Girl rang it up but it came up as more than $38. I asked her how much the tax was and showed her the price. She said that the price had been re-entered since the last tag. I told her that the price on the box should be the price she sold it at, but she refused to make any adjustment, even though the mistake was theirs. I don't patronize or trust businesses that do this kind of operation. I wonder how many people have paid extra and not even realized it, or noticed they were getting screwed but told "there's nothing we can do about it." Used to come here occasionally and would recommend to friends - now I'll never return and will warn friends of this practice. read more

Monday evening is open game night from 6 to 9 for free. They offer a wide variety of board games that you can check out and play for free even if it isn't Monday night. Great shop, or shoppe in this case. A mind boggling amount of board games. Card, rpg, party games, it's all here. If they don't have it they can probably order it. Beyond just the massive selection the reason they're five stars is the staff is great. They're accessible and passionate about games. They also support the community by offering a gaming room where various game clubs and groups meet to play. It's a shop that also has fostered a community. Great place! Great people! The Game Shoppe is actively involved in the keep the local board gaming community together. Prices are reasonable and they offer a place to game. (Large with scenery.) You can go in there and play one of their many off the shelf games for free and sometimes staff will even assist you in learning the game. They offer most of the popular table-top games and the staff is knowledgeable; some staff members will even play with you. I've haven't been to a more clean, friendly, and more devoted place in the Omaha area. read more

So my boyfriend and I go here often to pick up paints and other supplies for his war hammer fantasy. Our only problem is the lack of war hammer selection , we normally end up going to the games work shop store to buy any models. However as far as board games and card games they have a pretty nice selection.we play pathfinder and love that we can drive two minutes and pick up a new scenario. Unfortunate experience today. Tried to use a gift card that was purchased for me at the new Omaha location. The card was not new. They reuse cards which a lot of places do but something was wrong with this one. It was showing a zero balance despite the two receipts proving otherwise. The gal behind the counter called the other store to verify the card was purchased there. They said yes after she sent them pics of the receipts and card. She said that store and hers have to go through all the receipts since the gift card was bought two weeks ago and see if there is a duplicate. Needless to say she wasnt going to be able to sift through them while we waited. Do not buy a giftcard from this place or the Omaha location if they want to use a "used" card. They lost my business today and I am not sure if it is worth going back. Great selection of games and a polite and apologetic staff still cannot make up for a gift card being used by someone else due to a manual entry of the numbers. read more

A family member just recently moved to the area and we decided to check it out. When we went in we met the manager and she was extremely nice and helpful. She even recommended ways for my family member to get into contact with fellow board gamers since he was on his own in the area. Prices seemed reasonable and selection was fantastic. Also hosts events and provide demo games to try out in the back of the store. Would definitely recommend this place to any board game geeks in Omaha, whether you are visiting or are living there. read more
