I am currently in the USA and found a holistic dentist to put the crown back on. They X-rayed the tooth that is underneath the crown and examined the tooth and said it was healthy and not a shred of mercury amalgam. But here is the kicker; the dentist told me to tell Dr. David that the crown was beautiful work! You can't get a better referral than that...right? Another dentist praising your work and wanting you, the dentist, to know they were impressed with your work!! The crown came off so clean and was in perfect condition. Before the dentist glued it on she tried it on and struggled to get it back off, I mean really struggled. So not sure how it came off in the first place...LOL. Also, the tooth underneath was not worse for wear having endured 4 days of exposure. I didn't chew on that side of course but there was no sensitivity. I had a lot of work done with David as my mouth was full of mercury. I have nothing but praise for his work and chairside manner. He is not hard on the eye either!

This is a small little practice that divides its space and resources between dental and physio,…read morethough I've only ever experienced the dental side of things. I've been here a handful of times in between hating and trying to find other dentists. In case I haven't made it abundantly clear in my past dentist reviews, I hate them. The very thought of stepping inside a dental surgery (even if it's just for a standard clean) makes me quake in my boots. They simply horrify me. Who likes using ridiculously shaped utensils to poke about in someone's mouth? Anyway, let's put my bias aside for a moment. Mitchelton Dental didn't do much to assuage my fears. It's not their fault; I'm a pretty bad patient in a dental chair. And during my last visit I had to have a bit of a painful procedure, so I can't shift all of the blame onto them, because the dentist I had was really quite lovely to me. She just didn't tell me what the hell she was doing in my mouth as tears were rolling down the side of my face. If I'm going to suffer through someone poking and prodding and grinding small machines around in my mouth, I'd like to be kept informed, that's all I'm saying. More basic procedures and cleans aren't dreadful here at all and they actually do a good job, leaving an exceptional finished product (according to my new dentist). I'm just a massive chicken and like to be molly-coddled while I sit in a dental chair. They do bulk bill here too, by the way. Hopefully I haven't scared you off. The reception staff and dentists I've had here have all been very friendly and accommodating, so I'll definitely recommend them; they just weren't a good fit for me. But like I said, I'm a ridiculously shaky scaredy-cat.

Does anybody LOVE the dentist? Seriously? Not me! I am petrified of them. They make me feel at ease and calm me down so much. If you are unfortunate enough to need a filling, ask them about using their rubber lining - it is amazing and not all dentists do this. They put this contraption in your mouth which looks super scary, but actually stops all the yuckiness of a filling going into your mouth and just sits in this rubber thing instead. They are all super lovely and it is a really nice environment.... as far as a dentist goes.

No difference between holistic and ordinary dentists. Their policy is to drill, fill and bill. Last…read morevisit was horrific and my child couldn't eat for 2 days because she was afraid that her teeth would get rotten. That was huge stress for me as I always fought to gain weight with her (she is still a tiny, fragile girl). Here is the whole story: After we entered the room, I politely asked the dentists if she could use a camera to check my daughter's teeth. She was very surprised and asked me for a reason. I said that, in my opinion, poking teeth with a dental probe could potentially leave microscopic holes and cause the need for more fillings in 6 months' time. The dentist said that it was absolutely impossible. She stated as well that she couldn't do a thorough checkup due to my requirement. I asked her again if she would be so kind as to use the camera (Diagnocam) for early detection of tooth decay only. Diagnocam was the main reason why we came such a long distance to Dent8.Finally, she agreed, but was visibly shaken to the point that her hands were trembling during my daughter's examination. It looked like I touched the deepest secret of dentistry, that caused the dentist's reaction. During the visit my 12 year old heard from the dentist (and her assistant) that her teeth would fall out, that she would have an infection and suffer from toothache if she left her teeth untreated.I realise that my daughter has decay in her 2 molars and they must be sorted out, sooner or later. However, this is my child, and as her mother, I would like to decide how and when she needs that treatment. Of course, I always take advice from the experts, professional and qualified staff and I'm very grateful for all tips. My daughter was threatened with losing her teeth and traumatised by comments from the dentist and her assistant. At the end of the visit, I apologised to both ladies for any inconvenience that my request caused. The dentist stated that in her 42 years' career had never had a client like me. I thought to myself that a person with such a huge amount of experience should have examined and diagnosed teeth even without looking (I'm joking now). To be honest, it was never my intention to offend anyone. I'm an easy going person with a big dose of tolerance and understanding of others` views (or attitudes, behaviours etc.), but sometimes certain things must be said. If you're a caring parent, avoid this place called Dent8. They don't care about patients at all, but money. If you want to save your child from stress try "no drill dentistry" (not the best option for those who avoid fluoride) in Sunshine Coast practice, Diagnocam is also available there. They are kind and make no fuss about parents' requirements. Also, look for information about "arrested cavity" and you will know that cavities or decay can be healed and teeth have the ability to regrow and rebuild themselves (not just coconut or sesame seed oil pulling can do that but many other remedies). In the end, Weston price book is highly recommended too. PS: I wrote twice about the whole incident to the owner of the practice but was totally ignored. Ewelina W.
