We attended a wedding here and everything looked amazing. Beautifully decorated and nice overall. There were other events happening at the same time so it was a little loud. The place was freezing when we arrived. We closed the doors to the chapel because of this hoping it would warm up and because of the noise. The microphone did not work at all inside the chapel and nobody from the venue came to check things out. After the ceremony we were ushered into the reception hall which was very nicely decorated. They advised us that there was fruit but when we went up, there were no plates and were told we could not use the cups that were there because they were for the coffee that they were going to serve but never came out until after dinner. There wasn't enough fruit for 50 people so I don't know what they were thinking. Dinner was good and it was hot when served. Some people got salad and others did not. Some took awhile to be served but overall the food was good. They served 1 medium sized pitcher of sweet tea per table of 8 and never refilled the pitcher. Only 3 people could drink out of a pitcher. As a guest I gave 5 stars because the main things for a guest were good for the most part but I do agree with others that the servers need better attitudes or should stay home. I don't know what the bride and groom paid or what they paid for but as a guest I thought this event was good. The DJ was good and played good music for everyone. The cake looked nice too. I'd have to check out their pricing in order to comment on anything else but again, as a guest it was nice. read more

I am disgusted by this venue. DISGUSTED. I have one word...CLASS-LESS. Every aspect of this venue was disgusting. Imagine walking in the venue with the bride-to-be just 2 short hours before the wedding and seeing the room packed with people in the chapel you are getting married in. It had the same colors, chair set up, and decor that you requested but was being used for another wedding. Then, as you proceed to the bridal suite, you see that both suites were being used by the bridal party of that wedding and you have no where to go. we went searching for Carmen, but was told she had gone to Sam's to buy more food for our wedding. The little boy...approximately 18 or 19 was in charge. (He also happened to be one of the servers for the cold, awful, dinner that was served.) When we shared our concerns with him, he proceeded to tell us that the prior weddings bridesmaids were supposed to be out of the room by 4. Our wedding started at 6. Their wedding started at 4.UHM...OK. He then took their things... while they were getting married, and moved them to another room without their knowledge. We went in and sat our things down but were disgusted. The room was dirty and trashed. The furniture was so dirty the photographer had to cover it up for pictures. The floor was DISGUSTING and the counters were dirty. Yall, I couldn't make this up. The room was atleast 80 Fentress and we were told that someone had changed the temperature without their knowledge....UHM. we sweated, the men in the grooms room sweated and all of the wedding guest used our programs as fans. Our grandmother, the bride, EVERYONE sweated and it was EMBARRASSING to say the least. I had sweat literally dripping onto my dress and when checked the temperature had gone down to 78 degrees. Once we were out of the chapel, our guest was to be served fruit. We prayed for 100 guests. There was fruit for about 40. The reception room was HOT. I have never been so hot INDOORS. we still had not seen Carmen. The wait staff...all dressed with undersized/dirty clothes appeared to be preparing food in the...UHM... THERE WAS NO KITCHEN. YALL. UNBELIEVABLE. We paid for the food from the venue and it was stale, cold, and awful. She should have gotten rotisserie when she went to SAMs. The approximately guards were useless and were chilling on the chairs for the wedding. People were outside the chapel from the nearby club sitting in rocking chairs smiling. One was sitting on a bucket. YALL. Nothing was as planned. The reception room door not match. Nothing promised was delivered other than the space. OH and I forgot to mention that there were all types of trash leftover by the prior wedding in the chapel. When we told them, they went in and closed the doors. The restroom smelled like SHIT because the toilets food not flush....YALL. WE paid close to 10k. I CAN NOT BELIEVE ANYONE WOULD HAVE AN EVENT HERE. I'M CALLING THE HEALTH INSPECTOR, and I am pissed. I pray that no one has food poisoning. I also pray that they get this shot together because they are asking for a lawsuit, and I'm the one to give it. read more

What else can I say other than...WOW! Trudy did a fantastic job helping us plan our wedding and decorated the ceremony and reception areas! Our ceremony area was BEAUTIFUL and our reception area was just GORGEOUS. The best part is that we were under our budget. We were able to have it all with 141 people for less than $7000 that included the venue usage, food, cake, DJ, and photographer. My husband and I cannot say enough thank you to Trudy. Trudy assisted us in so many ways during the planning process. We had a bit of technical issues with the emails at first. However, once we resorted to text messaging, things were falling into places quickly. She made sure that the entire wedding went smoothly and took on my stress. My husband and I had a blast and we would recommend the venue and Trudy to any one who is planning a wedding. read more

I attended a wedding here. The food was not ready for the reception. Someone at the wedding kindly asked about high chairs for babies and the young girl replied rudely, No we don't have high chairs. They needed more servers. The passing out of the food was so slow. The quality of food was poor. This place use to be nice, but it is outdated and needs to train their staff the be courteous and attentive to guests. read more

Coordination was terrible, sound equipment was broken and the facility itself was dirty and run down the staff had the food and drinks out over a 1/2 hour after people arrived. The ceiling in the restroom was full of mold, the entire experience was the most unprofessional I have ever been too. We had to setup and organize chairs ourselves not sure what we paid for. DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE. On the day of my wedding, the employee's kids were running around the front foyer area, and playing in the fountain! If you don't have a sitter, at least keep them in the office, out of sight. Strangers were TOURING the venue during my ceremony! A normal venue would close off the venue while it's in use! They didn't even bother to turn on the air conditioning in advance (they keep it off until the last minute to save money). It's SUMMER. You can't get away with that, especially in the summer. My guests were sweating! It was very difficult for my wedding coordinator to get cooperation at times also. Every time I called for assistance, I would speak to a different person. One woman gave me her cell number to say call if I need anything, but never answered it. My white dress was black on the bottom after the wedding, because no one bothered to thoroughly sweep the floors before the event. The so-called dressing rooms were small, dark, and out-dated. Me and my husband recently got married here on 11/14/2020. The decor and set up was very beautiful after speaking with Carmen about some changes. The wedding was beautiful overall. There was only one CON! For the amount of money paid the food was TERRIBLE. Everything was cold before it even reach the guest. We had wild rice on the menu which was uncooked and hard. The was so embarrassing to me and my husband to give our guest undone cold food! When we did the food tasting 1 month before the wedding that food was hot and cooked and fresh. They fed us something totally different on the wedding day which was not right at all. We were PLAYED!! Carmen the owner was NO where to be found when we asked for her service regarding the food it's like she VANISHED. The green beans were not seasoned at ALL and we asked for SEASONED green beans. The kitchen was set up in the hallway using chafing dishes. We only seen 2 children plates go out so we paid for something they didn't provide. Overall if you use this venue please provide your own food or you will be PLAYED ALSO!! Still to this day 1/6/2021 I have not received a phone call from Carmen saying Thank you for using our venue or we apologize about the food or anything! **UPDATE** Now that I have had my wedding here, I wanted to update my review. The positive part: My wedding turned out beautifully, I'm now married to my best friend, and the stress of a wedding is over. The rest: I was told on Thursday (after calling, emailing, texting and never getting a response) when I went to the venue, that everything would be done by Saturday night so on Sunday morning I could go make sure everything was finished and done correctly. Since I had family and friends coming into town, I planned my weekend around the timeline I was given from Carmen. My bridal party and family and I went to the venue Sunday morning and they had just began setting up. The table cloths were wrong, the sign in table was wrong, the "bling" was completely falling off the chairs, the napkins were wrong, the cake table was wrong, the center pieces had hot glue webs all over them which had to be cleaned up. We expressed what was wrong, what wasn't completed and Carmen (without apologizing or trying to make up for all the mistakes) said it would be done by 5. We went back at 6, still there were multiple errors, we expressed to them what was wrong and her daughter said they would have it fixed. Monday, the day of the wedding we got there to finish setting up. The bling was still falling off of the chairs, the velcro on the bling was falling off, there was hair and dandruff on our tables which we had to clean up ourselves, the chair covers had multiple stains on them. Fast forward to time for the wedding: As I am in the dressing room putting my wedding gown on Carmens daughter came in to tell me that once again, they've messed up on my invoice and I owe them more money. Which is awesome to hear 15 minutes before I walk down the aisle. Apparently they went to tell my husband too, and he ended up paying it without really looking at what they were charging him for (that was his fault for trusting them). Apparently they never put the cake on our invoice, then they charged us a 20% fee for whatever reason. So at the expo's they advise you to use their cake lady because if you don't you'll get charged these extra fee's for having an outside cake. We used their cake lady and was still charged the extra fees on top of another 20%. We ended up spending probably 20 minutes of our wedding (After our ceremony) in the office trying to figure out what they were talking about. They used cheap wooden chairs after we expressed several times that we wanted metal chairs, and at this point it was too late to change. We paid to have food for 45 people. We only had 41 show up- and rule of thumb is you make 10% extra regardless. When I asked them to serve our pastor, they informed us they only cooked for 40 people and we had 49 people show up so they were out of food. Then carmen changed her story and said her waitstaff didn't know how many people they cooked for- that they cooked for 50 people and we had 49. Still, we are short a plate? We re-counted OVER AND OVER, multiple people counted and we only had 41 people there. So I am assuming Carmen counted herself and her waitstaff/cooks because thats the only way we would have 49 people. Still, we are short of food. The cake lady did not bring a box for the top of our cake. She lives less than a quarter of a mile from the venue. When I called to ask where the box was, she non-chalantly said "Oops, guess I didn't bring it! Just wrap it in plastic" (because I had saran wrap tucked into my wedding dress?) Overall I feel like the fact that I had to micro manage everything just so it would get done, spend so much of my time in their office during the wedding to figure out THEIR mistakes, the fact that Carmen NEVER apologized for any of the mistakes/concerns I had weeks before the wedding, the day before, the day of, this place really doesn't care how your event goes. I would definitely not ever recommend anyone having their wedding or event here. Definitely invest a little extra money and go somewhere who has competent people in charge. From November: The first two times I visited the Gardens I was sold- Everyone was pretty nice, and the expo was organized decently well. However, for the last expo, I had family and friends come from out of town and it was a complete disappointment. We couldn't find anyone to answer questions, by the time they finally allowed us to sample the catering it was completely cold, no one was there to help us put our tables together, only a handful of vendors even showed up- some were late. We asked multiple times when we could sign in and when they were doing door prizes and we were told we would be signed up when someone (Im assuming a worker) arrived, which never happened. Most of the vendors didn't bring their full set up so you couldn't really see what they really truly had to offer, and ultimately there just weren't really any employees there to direct or answer questions. My wedding here this June was flawless and elegant! I love the ambience of the venue and the staff is super friendly. I would highly recommend that any of my friends work with them, as they are flexible, accommodating and full of good ideas. After reflecting on negative reviews I believe that my experience could have been different if I wasn't proactive about my communications with them, BUT I think that's the job of both parties in business. Pros: Beautiful venue that will make for stunning pictures. Affordable. Cons: Unorganized. I asked SEVERAL times if there was an area I would be able to dress for the ceremony because if there wasn't, I would have rented a room nearby to do so since I had a photographer coming to do pictures. Each time, I was told yes. The day of, the room wasn't available, so I had to dress in a bathroom with an "out of order" sign on it which people ignored. Someone actually came in did a #2 while I was in there. How about that smell as you're prepping for your wedding? An older lady actually came in and said "They gave my grand-daughter a room to get dressed" Oh sooooo that's what happened!!!! If they had told me this, I would have just rented a hotel room. Dishonest: I asked for red bands around the chairs. The lady I made my final payment with actually picked them out, walked me over to the chapel and put it on the chair so I would see what it looked like. I said it's an additional charge so let's add that; she said there was no charge. The day I arrived, no red bands on the chairs. When I questioned, the person who was there showed me my contract; the red bands were written but then had a line drawn through it as if I had changed my mind. The chairs were too close together; I don't know how I was supposed to get down the aisle with an escort and a wedding dress. When I asked if someone can move them, I was told that they had no staff there to move them. You have NO staff at a wedding venue on a SATURDAY? Ok....So my wedding coordinator and usher re-spaced the chairs. What they don't tell you is that the sound person will not be there for rehearsal; the guy I had seemed to be in a rush and cut the songs too short. You could hear my heels on the floor as I continued to make my way to the podium...it was an awkward 7 seconds. I am the event planner that chose this facility for the bride. I regret that decision. The short version of this complaint is the building was dirty and not prepared when I arrived at 2:00 pm for a 4:00 pm. There was a pile of trash at the back of the chapel with a mop bucket. The tables that I had been promised verbally were not available and the workers were so rude. The bathroom had so much trash and even a bra left from another party that my team had to clean it. What makes this so upsetting is when I reported the event after it happened I was told that the rude worker said that I was not telling the truth. I scheduled a meeting with their entire staff so that everyone would be in the same room. Well Trudy, Ruben and the workers stood their ground and Ms. Carmen didn't show up. After everyone spoke the rude worker was caught in a lie by his own co-worker. Thank you to the worker that cleans the linen for verifying what I was saying. I don't think she was trying to do that. After we talked they were caught in so many lies. Here's the problem when I initially told Carmen about what happened she apologized and offered a partial refund or a free event. I never asked her for anything. When we met Trudy told us that she didn't think she should do anything because we received the building at a discount. I didn't know that cleanliness and quality would be removed with a discount. If the owners of the Garden were at all concerned about there customers and wanted continued business they could have done something so simple as apologized and offered to treat the bride and groom to a dinner for two. Instead they pulled out a contract which is fine because I didn't deny anything in the contract and said that we had the building from 3:30 until 8:30. Never mind the fact that I was told that I could show up as early as 10:00. Why would I show up early if the building is dirty. Trudy's response to the birthday balloons left in the ceiling from a party the night before was those things happen. She decided at the end of our meeting, even after I told her that a dinner gift card would be sufficient because it proves your sincerity, she offered another discounted event. Was I suppose to be grateful for that? No I see another way they are putting money in their pockets. I suggest if you use this building you put every detail in writing. Do not take them at their word for anything. Either do not use them or PUT IT IN WRITING. I am not talking about the general things in writing I am talking about. 1. Will the bathrooms be cleaned. 2. Will the water fountain be free of trash and on. 3. Will the area outside of the banquet hall be clean. 4. Will the workers not be rude. 5. What time will the building be clean and ready for me to set up. 6. Will the floors be mopped so that the wedding dress will not get dirty. 7. Am I required to assist in the set up so that the room will be ready when guest come. read more

Nice decor for the formal affair I attended. But no one on property to assist with problems. It was cold outside and even colder inside. As the air conditioner cranked up on high, some went to there cars to get coats, hoodies and sweaters, including hats and knit caps. Those who had no extra winter gear to cover their gowns and heads, chose to sit outside the room and listen in. For the sake of the honorees, we endured the blizzard-like atmosphere. I am flooding myself with vitamin C and cold medicine to head off the sore throat and stuffiness. P.S. Bring your own maintenance crew, fans and/or heaters. No custome service. We arrived thinking it would be a nice venue for other events. We left looking at each other and saying "No Way We Can Use This Place." We already have a place that is not as fancy, but the customer servcie and assistant makes up for whatever else it lacks in fanciness. Use this facility at your own risk. read more

Highly unorganized, under staffed, staff office is a mess. The workers are allowed I guess to bring their kids to work and it's a huge distraction when you're trying to handle business and their kid starts crying...etc. Not professional at all. We made an appt to review our table settings a week prior, mind you we live 45 minutes away, and when we showed up, the representative wasn't their, our table settings weren't prepared and huge waste of our time. And my wife being 7 months prego. The day of the event we were promised the room will be ready to go at 12pm the morning of and that was not the case at all. My father inlaw had to grab a mop and bucket and clean the room himself because he knew there was no chance it would be ready any time soon. They have one old man mopping, and God bless him but he was slow.... And the only one cleaning. Stay away from this place and I strongly do no recommend this place at all. read more
