Attended our nephews wedding reception here and the space is beautiful! We had a preview of the…read morevenue before the pandemic and got a really good idea of what things would look like on the big day. This barn is absolutely stunning, nestled off the road behind a forest. There are sliding barn doors on 3 sides so you can have an open air reception with a cross breeze if you desire, or all doors closed if that's your thing. There's plenty of seating inside, with several tables and chairs. To my understanding, the venue can rent out the tablecloths, serving platters, cake stands, lanterns, and just about anything else you need. In the back you'll find spaces for a dessert setup, full bar, multiple bathrooms, and a changing room for both the bride and groom. Outside is a beautiful wraparound patio, plenty of space for dancing, guest book signing and even food if you'd like. There's the cutest space down the stairs and by the lake for an on-site ceremony, with custom bench seating. This is a really nice event space, perfect for a wedding in the Spring, Summer or Fall. It's a little hike from Charlotte, but definitely worth it. Check out their story on their website. Such a dream!

I would highly recommend of having a wedding or fun event here at the Barn at Cedar Hill. The staff was great; they were positive, supportive, took care of the needs of the guests. It was my first wedding where they served Mexican food. It was delicious. The pull pork was great. Flavorful. Tasty. Guacamole was average. I also want to give a shoutout to the staff as they had activities to do for the kids that were present; soccer ball, football, bats, frisbee, etc. Overall, nice time at the venue.

DO NOT HIRE! Would give 0 stars if I could!!…read more We were married on September 20th and hired Jason for our wedding DJ, photography, and videography services. We paid our balance in full prior to the wedding, as requested. Unfortunately, the experience after the wedding has been extremely stressful and disappointing. Jason spoke a lot about his quick turnaround time before we booked, which was one of the reasons we chose him. However, that has not been our experience. In addition, we never saw the assistant that was included in our package, and the day-of coordinator did not ensure our requested photo list was shared with the photographer, which led to some frustrations on the wedding day as well. We are now six months after our wedding date and still do not have our uncut and edited wedding video, and several items took repeated follow-ups just to receive. Communication has been very inconsistent, and many of the timelines we were given for receiving our photos and video have not been met. Over the past several months we have tried to remain patient and understanding, but it has been very difficult not knowing when we will actually receive the rest of what we paid for. These are once-in-a-lifetime memories that couples trust their photographer and videographer to capture and deliver. At this point, we are simply hoping to receive the remaining deliverables in full and in the quality that was promised. I would strongly encourage couples considering booking to make sure clear delivery timelines and expectations are included in writing before signing a contract or better yet book with someone else. ETA: Just discovered that he played the wrong song for my girls to walk down the aisle to. I talked to him 2 days before the wedding to go over everything and put it in the app like he asked well ahead of time. The morning of our wedding he text me asking about what songs I wanted played for our entrances. He had the correct songs, wrong order so I told him the correct order. I shouldn't be having that type of conversation the morning of. He still managed to skip the song all together and played the same song for my husband and girls to walk down to. ETA: May 2026 - ended up having to take to small claims court. We won the case, but will probably never get our money from him unfortunately. Have been able to hire the videographer to edit the video for us, for a price of course, since Jason didn't pay him their agreed upon price.

Please be aware and don't fall for this scam…read more During our initial conversation, he sounded incredibly energetic and made it seem like he would go above and beyond to make my sister's wedding unforgettable. Unfortunately, he did make it unforgettable--but for all the wrong reasons. I hired him for both photography and videography as a wedding gift for my sister. He charged a premium price, but the way he spoke and the excitement in his voice made me believe he genuinely cared about his work and would deliver an amazing experience. The first red flag was that he didn't even show up to the wedding himself. Instead, he sent two other people to cover the event. I was willing to overlook that because I assumed the final product would be worth it. After the wedding, he gave me multiple delivery timelines for the photos, edited photos, and the highlight video. Every deadline came and went with excuse after excuse. Now, six months later, he has completely stopped responding and still hasn't delivered anything. I truly wish I had read his Yelp reviews before hiring him. After everything happened, I discovered that many other customers had the exact same experience--promises, excuses, months of delays, and then being completely ignored. Unfortunately, I trusted the reviews on Thumbtack and didn't do enough research before hiring him. Learn from my mistake and think twice before trusting this business.

Bao Yeah offers not only bao but bowls and fried chicken as well. Their ordering (via tablet) is convenient, and they turn around orders quickly. I went with a three-piece bao, which allowed me to sample the two fried chicken varieties (K*Bomb with gochujang and Garlic Gang with soy black garlic) as well as the bulgogi. All of the bao were amply stuffed with meat and pickled vegetables and slathered with tasty sauce. The thick buns held everything in place, so eating was not too sloppy an endeavor. Everything delivered the expected flavors - sweet heat from the K*Bomb, a tangier note from the bulgogi - and the fried chicken boasted a thick, crunchy batter. It was quite tasty though the chicken was definitely a bit dry. At least the bulgogi was nice and tender. All told, Bao Yeah is a promising newish addition to the Triad food truck scene. It may not be the best Korean street food you've ever had, but you're in for a flavorful meal without a long wait.
