This was not a very good experience. When I arrive to a mostly empty restaurant at lunchtime and am…read moreasked if I have a booking, that's usually a clue. We were seated and left with the menus... for a long time. After about 15 minutes, someone came for orders. They do label vegetarian and gluten free items on part of the menu, but I had questions about the burger with no bun. Turns out there's gluten in the meat too, so I opted for the veggie risotto. When I asked the waitress what vegetables were in it, her answer was "peas... and some other stuff, I can't remember." Sounds great! My partner ordered a veggie wrap off the light bites menu. After another way too long period of time, we finally got our food. The risotto seemed like normal rice with sauce poured over - it was strange in texture and flavour. The veggies were peas, leeks and what I'm pretty sure was lettuce, though it could have been kale. My partner's wrap was super spicy and he didn't really enjoy that either. Since I'd ordered off the set menu, I had to wait for the dessert to roll up (white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake - base is not gluten free!) We requested the bill and dessert at the same time, bill arrived first. The cheesecake was unimpressive; I couldn't pick out any white chocolate, and the berries were more scattered on the plate than in/on the cake itself. The servers were friendly enough, but the whole experience was just so slow. I would not return.

The atmosphere in Largs at night is so much better than in Paisley. You don't feel like you're going to be stabbed. Fast forward three and a half years and here we are, sunny day and looking for a beer garden. I remember Lounge has a roof terrace. Drinks are reasonable. The pub is classy, chandeliers and chesterfield sofas, that kind of thing and a full cocktail menu. Worth a visit when you're down this way! After Nardini's, of course.

The wine list is replete with moderately priced wines; honestly we would have been willing to pay more for a couple of even better alternatives, but I would not classify that as a complaint. Service was friendly and attentive and this restaurant is so eclectic and fun.

The wife ordered their "Fisherman" which is pan seared Scottish coley or pollock (for 27 GBP). The battered fish with the chips was more delicately done here and delicious. As an aside I tried several times to find a place here in Glasgow or in Edinburgh that did a "special" fish and chips, that is breaded with crumbs and not battered, but apparently no one does that healthier old school preparation anymore (and I need to inform my old work colleague who hailed from Glasgow and gave me this inside tip that it's not practiced anymore). I also had a Chieftain IPA. The side of peas were dryish and not flavorful and small portioned and not done as well and tasty as I have had in London or Perth, just saying. We also had their sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert and that was good. The fries were mediocre. Server was friendly and attentive. 4 stars overall and a nice local flavor Glasgow outing.

Out of the three lounges at Edinburgh Airport, this one is the fanciest one. Upon entering, you're…read morewelcome into a foyer to check-in. You are handed a menu, which is one order per person. Although you are limited with your food, the options are slightly better than the buffet style over at Aspire Lounge. With that said, this also means you will need to wait about 5-10 minutes for your food to come out. I did see pictures of some of food options, and ones like the bacon roll and sausage sub did not look quite appetizing. It may be a bit of a hit or miss here with the food, but I can tell you that the mac and cheese was yummy. The sauce was cheesy and full of truffle oil, which I requested --maybe a little too much truffle oil to be honest. I added extra crispy onions from the side counter as well. There are some bread, salad, baked goods, and soup options that is free for all if the entree isn't enough for you. I did find this lounge more relaxing and bright, especially with the high ceilings. I'd come to this lounge for the atmosphere, but Aspire for the food; although both are not too far of a stretch. Or if you have the time, you can go to both like I did (because my flight was delayed).

The seatings are like very classy type, a nice bar at the side. Service: The bar tender is nice and also the guy who checks me in. Food: They have a small buffet type of breads, cereals and juices. They have a menu handed by a guy who checks u in and once you chose the food you want to order you will tell the bartender what you want then they will serve it to you. Here is the problem, all the food on the menu does not taste good, well I mean I ordered 2. First I had CLASSIC SAUSAGE SUB: it was 2 sliced sausage with ketchup on a bun, it taste ew, like I didn't eat any. I told myself maybe I'll try the POACHED EGG with AVOCADO: still taste ew, the egg is like mid hard boiled egg and the avocado has a plastic taste on it. So what did I do? I moved to the next door lounge and the food was waaayyy better!! 100x better. Price rating: Had access here cause of my Chase reserve card. The interior is pretty nice, I felt like the people go here just to feel that they are special because of the atmosphere, but the food was meh.
