One of the most spacious bars I have come across in this Capitello/Canazei areas but just a bit off the beaten track with a few minutes walk to the main street. Underground like most bars. Good beer and food. Music is the only slight negative in this bar. The owner fancies himself as a bit of a guru and so if he doesn't like it it doesn't get played. Requests are not an option. When he heard we were Irish all the stereo typicial stuff came on over the speakers. U2, Cranberries etc. Smoking area is at the bottom of the entry steps and again at the top. Toilets are only one cubicle each gender so don't leave it too late!

Access from ground level is in Campitello take the Col Rodella cable car and it's straight in front of you once you exit. Altitude 2392m. What I am talking about is the locally known "Umbrella Bar" on the deck area of the Refugio Bar and Restaurant. The toilets are located inside and downstairs of the bar and some of the guys got food in here too and were very happy with it. Crazy is not the word for this place. Starts getting lively around 3pm and has to close with the last cable car at 5.15pm. You know what time it is because the local police have to clear the place every time to make sure nobody gets left on the mountain also the barman/DJ shuts off the music. Loud Euro-pop/disco music with speakers inside and outside, circular bar, cocktails, beers, hot chocolate, vin brule etc etc all make for a great experience. Mondays and Wednesdays have a semi-naked model dancing also on the bar from 3.30pm but any day of the week bar dancing by the patrons is not frowned upon. They just may not be a good looking. Being with the Irish crew we had a sing off against some Lithuanians which was all good fun and continued into the Cable all the way down to the ground level. They were no match for us! A must visit.

Irish girls working behind the bar so it was nearly like having an Irish bar in the village. Small on entry but gets bigger as you go through it. Great music and they don't mind requests from they memory back of the computer behind the bar. Top tip: Place is covered in UV lights (check out the angels in the mens toilets) but make sure you wear nothing dark as you will look like you have a severe case of dandruff!) Only down side to this bar is no Sky sports otherwise we wouldn't have left the place. Smoking area either at the porch at the bottom of the steps or at the top of the steps where there is a covered picnic table. Also has a free fuzz ball table or a one of the guys called it "tiny toes" table. Good times and will be back.

It's in Aviano's main square…read more Aside from having a mouth-wateringly impressive beer lineup for the area, there's some good food to be had here. We enjoyed a grilled meat dish and a surprisingly tasty (if strange looking) pizza (see photos). There's also the location, right on the square.... and a nice courtyard in the back for summer nights. Due to the proximity to the USAF Air Base, 80% of the costumers are Americans, the food and the alcohol consumption are, therefore, tailored to meet their needs. The place has a dehors (both in the front abd on the back yard) as well as multiple floors. Both the personnel and the owner speak English. The king of the castle is the irish beer, but, whenever the owner is behind the counter... the drinks are strong and awesome. The food is so and so, some times it is awesome, other times not so much... but, when the booze and the company makes up for 90% of your night... who cares about the rest!!
