The place seemed to be under renovation of some kind, there were signs to that effect, but everything was clean nonetheless. The artist took care with sanitation and had a great attitude. I went to Needle Prixx to see about getting my earlobes re pierced. The artist took one look and said "I may not have to pierce these at all. They might just open back up. If so I'm not charging you." That's exactly what happened! All he charged me for was the jewelry! The whole experience has me considering that tattoo I've been thinking about for years... Backstory: My daughter had gotten an industrial piercing October 2024 by another black owned/woman…read moreowned business as that artist is well known around the city - we then found out she had a severe nickel allergy & had said artist remove the piercing not even 1week later. Fast forward to our blank ink experience, we scheduled about a month out via IG DM's on their business page after specifically asking if they pierce with surgical steel (which we were told energetically "YES, that's all we use". Day of the piercing, we put the location in google maps and it takes us to their OLD location in castleton I called twice before getting them to answer the business phone and we then were instructed the location is on keystone. At my fault, I forgot to bring my daughter's birth certificate & school picture ID so we had to reschedule for the following day. Following day comes and we head to the shop and arrived early for our appt time. The piercer was getting prepped for a tattoo and continued doing so for almost a half hour before telling us to go sit in the chair. As he got prepped for her piercing I then talked about our terrible experience with the nickel jewelry & he had a shocked look on his face. I had to remind him "I'm the one that specifically asked for surgical steel" and he was like "oh wow I can't guarantee this is steel because we don't get this piercing often so we had some jewels from our previous order that were in fact nickel. We mixed them in with our new order of steel so this will be a toss up" the look on my face I'm sure said it ALL - I got it in writing that if she has an outbreak from his jewelry he would switch it out immediately free of charge for a steel rod. Thankfully, we're week 3 and still no outbreak so I guess we got lucky! Our piercer was nice & gentle buuuut the professionalism lacks a bit.
