We moved to the area and had her enrolled in a different daycare waiting for her slot at Primrose to open and could not get her out of that short-term location fast enough. At Primrose, we get a daily report emailed to us about what they did that day, food served along with what amounts she ate, and diaper changes. At both drop off and pickup, our daughter smiles, waves, or hugs the staff - its obvious to us that she is well cared for and feels safe and comfortable there. The classroom divisions by age/development have been great. You don't have to worry about a cattle-like situation of a room full of 50 1-5 year olds. I personally prefer that this location is a locally owned franchise. The owner is there daily, and she has a stake in the success of the school. The other location was a corporate run daycare where top to bottom the staff seemed to be at a job they could take or leave. In the year we have been there we have seen little to no turn over and promotions within the current staff. This was important since the place she was before had a different person at pick-up every other day.

My children have been in daycare most of their lives. We spent three years at one school and three…read moreat another. We only changed because our old daycare couldn't accommodate new school hours. BCLC was a disaster from the start. My older child recognized one woman from his school and expressed his dislike for her. He's always cheerful and likes pretty much everyone, but was frustrated because he had not liked her as a substitute. I could soon see why. She always seemed frantic and hectic with a frenzied voice. It was easy to see she was impatient and stressed--not good characteristics for being around children. No wonder my extroverted child had noticed something wrong. My introverted child who doesn't like crowds hated the school from the start, and I couldn't figure out why, but I was soon getting calls from the frantic/stressed woman several days a week because she couldn't deal with him. Apparently, her high strung behavior was not a good match. I'd never gotten a call from a daycare to pick up my child before, but suddenly she was throwing fits several times a week. The tone of voice in the voice mails she left was hysterical. My child reported to me that when she got frustrated, she grabbed and pinched his arms really hard and that it hurt. I took photos of the red marks around his wrist. She can't contain herself and can't keep herself from arguing with a six year old who is small for his age...which is NOT okay in a business where one works with kids. Even when she wasn't fighting with my child, every time I saw her or had to interact with her, it was obvious she was rushed and not handling stress well. I am very concerned about a daycare where the frantic/stressed adult fights and argues and cannot be patient with children. The adult should be in charge, and clearly this woman was not. The woman we met when we first started was only there a brief time before suddenly I heard a different director name. I have no idea what is going on there, but they have management issues, and apparently hired a frantic person who didn't work out as a substitute teacher elsewhere. I need to be able to go to work--not take daily calls from a teacher who can't deal with small children. We hadn't had problems with childcare before, and I suspect we won't again. The frantic woman needs to see a therapist to help her de-stress.

Since we are a military family, I find it very important to review the schools which my daughters…read morehave attended in order to provide information for other families who are having difficulties finding schools for their children as I have had in the past. Beavercreek Christian Learning Center (BCLC) located in the Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene is a wonderful, well-kept school located in Beavercreek, Ohio, redundant, no? Both my daughters attended preschool here and I fervently wished I kept my eldest daughter in BCLC for Kindergarten instead of letting her go to public school in the Mad River School District. 1) BCLC teachers are well-educated and have their degrees or are working towards higher degrees. Many teachers have been established for many, many years. 2) The facilities are clean, peanut-free, and video-monitored. 3) Impressive organization of facility, activities, etc; no confusion. Newsletters are distributed monthly. 4) There is curriculum! Many children are reading (it seemed like all the students in my eldest daughter's class read) by the time kindergarten rolls around. 5) In-house field "trips" for preschoolers; actual field trips for kindergarteners. 6) Parent involvement encouraged. 7) Chapel on Wednesday mornings; really enjoyed by kids. 8) Christmas Bell performance given by kids is enjoyed by parents and kids alike! 9) Tuition is comparable to all other great schools, lunch is included; preschool time from 8:30-12:30. Extended before and after care provided. 10) VERY IMPORTANT: Never closes unless Wright Patterson Air Force Base closes or for a religious holiday. In this area, all other schools close all the time. Take this into account if you work; especially on supposed "snow days."

It wasn't until a stranger found him along a busy 5 lane road did they realize he was missing from their supposed care. (The day of the incident the assistant director was unable to even provide documentation or even verbally communicate the school policy for proper child accountability!) While they have a charge of child neglect on their record, this for-profit school refused to inform any of the other parents of the incident. Unsurprisingly they have blocked me from their Facebook page so please spread the word and don't let this act of negligence continue to get swept under the rug (They only fired one of the two teachers responsible!! Sadly school video cameras revealed this second teacher was still not following proper procedure even after the incident and remained employed). All families who entrust their children to people at Beavercreek Inspire Montessori should know the quality of care, or lack their of, they are receiving. Here is a link to the state website showing the results of the investigation showing child endangerment (the child neglect claim was subsequently substantiated): http://childcaresearch.ohio.gov/pdf/000000200320_2016-08-09_COMPLAINT.pdf

He ended up having very severe asthma and needed treatments multiple times a day. Unfortunately it was not possible for me to quit my job and stay with him. The owners, Hollie and Jason (who, in my opinion, always seem to go above and beyond to make the children and families feel comfortable), had every teacher in the ENTIRE school learn about his type of atypical asthma and how to properly administer his medication throughout the day. They never acted like my daily call to check in on him was a problem or an inconvenience. My boys are now 8 and attend camp at primrose for the last year (they're ready for a big kid camp next year). They have a great time. The teachers are fun and treat them well (my children love their main teacher Ms. Tori). I never worry about my boys when they are there. I know they are being very well cared for. How huge is that for a parent?! Ms. Kristine is now the Parent Relations Director and you couldn't ask for a better person to interact with the parents. She is funny, friendly, competent and knows your child and his/her own unique personality. People have told me that they did not take their children to Primrose because they thought it was too expensive. It does cost a little more than other daycares in the area but it is much more than a daycare. It IS worth every dime you spend. As I read through my gushing review just now I want to make it clear that I have no affliation to Primrose or the employees there other than my children attend the school. Another words, Im not getting compensated in any way to leave this 5 star review. ;) I'm just a parent that wanted to leave an honest recommendation because I know how hard it is to find a reputable place to take care of your children when you can't. I highly recommend it... obviously. ;)
