I have had 3 kids go through this Goddard school from newborn to preschool. They have all made lasting friendships and went through social growth (conflict resolutions, best friends, etc). They were all well prepared for kindergarten and made the school transition easily. My kids loved their teachers and would talk about all the neat facts, silly songs, yoga poses and fun lessons from their school day. We did the option for Soccer Shots program as well. As a parent, I appreciate the early drop off (630am!) and late pickup at 6pm. The teachers assist with specific transitions such as introducing food (directed by parents/packed lunches/snacks), potty training (kids will help each other line up), and phasing out nap time for kindergarten. We weathered through COVID - the staff and owners were clear with limits and expectations. As a healthcare worker - the school remained open and an option throughout the whole time. There is some teacher turnover, but there are also staff/teachers who have been there for years (and taught all my kids - Ms Cheryl!) . I never had any issues about staff interactions with the children. Ms Anand (owner) is available on site and also responded via email quickly. We visited their school for a tour, and got to meet the owner. Their waitlist is extensive, but after getting to know us she gave us great referrals that she thought would align with our needs. Definitely one of the best day cares our daughter has been to this school is very personable, and my daughter was always excited to go to school this school is also extremely clean and doesn't smell like dirty diapers like others I have been to around the springs. The teachers here are very good and will provide you with a daily report on what they worked on, how your child did, etc. Overall I was extremely satisfied with this day care and would highly recommend to anyone. read more

My daughter had attended Goddard since she was 2 until the age of 5. Goddard has been under new owners for the past 3 years. Kuhmad handled the challenging transition with COVID very well. School continued at the parents discretion. The school was very cautious in the guidelines and provided the safest and cleanliest environments for these children. My daughter learned so much academically and did a lot of recreational fun like soccer and yoga! read more

6 months ago we decided to find a new educational daycare option for our youngest child, our three year old son, and we started at The Goddard School of Colorado Springs. Ms. Sonjia in the Giraffe room has been AMAZING and gone above and beyond to help make the transition easier, and ensure our son is happy and thriving. She and the staff have partnered with us to help him overcome some challenges, and Ms. Sonjia has been instrumental in his success and our happiness. The educational aspects of Goddard seem to be more focused than what our daughter experienced at another local school and they clearly make learning fun for a 3 year old. It is presented in such creative ways that makes it exciting for him every day and he loves to show us his skills counting, writing, and singing. I am very thankful that the staff cares about our child as much as they do, and work with us to make his days there as positive as possible. read more

Best Preschool we have ever been to!!!! We were absolutely in love with my son's preschool while we lived in Colorado Springs. We still make sure to go visit the school and our forever friends every time we are back in town! My 5 year old son was always so happy and satisfied coming home from the Goddard School, and I remember that would give me great piece of mind. The Staff is wonderful and his teachers, very committed and very loving. Always updating me with new information on his development! I noticed great improving on my son's interest for learning and got to follow these improvements trough the school's daily emails with information of what went on that day so I could continue engaging with his school activities at home. We are now back home and we will all miss the Goddard School very very much. We wish we could rate the school with *10* stars!!! read more

Our family adores The Goddard School in Colorado Springs! Our daughter has grown so much since starting here last summer. Her communication, socialization, reasoning skills, and understanding of pre-k concepts have developed so quickly. The school took proper precautions with COVID to keep staff and students safe without going overboard. We will be so sad to leave here for kindergarten but are grateful for all the work they put into preparing her for school. Our son attended Pre-K at The Goddard School for the last year and it has been a wonderful experience. Ms. Sarah is a fantastic, attentive, and caring teacher. The daily reviews of the curriculum were accurate and provide great discussion to share in my sons daily activities and education. They are also very consistent in sharing pictures daily. The staff at Goddard are merely phenomenal! Ms. Soo, Ms. Rohini, Ms. Lisa, and my home-girl Ms. Jacci are the ladies who I interact with most often; they are professional, personable, and caring individuals. The owner, Ms. Kumud, hires the best talent to handle the training and development of our kids, and she is constantly engaged with the kids and staff. The change I've seen over the last year in my son has been nothing but ground-breaking. He reads, writes, interacts with other kids and adults with respect and kindness, and he's more disciplined than prior to starting at Goddard. His mother and I, of course, reinforce these practices at home but the investment we have made at Goddard has paid off. The hours of operation are helpful as well (6am-6pm) because my wife doesn't drive and I have a busy work schedule, so it enables me to drop off and pickup with enhanced flexibility. Our son has gone from little boy to talented young man, ready to tackle kindergarten this fall. We are very grateful to the staff at Goddard and we look forward to enrolling our youngest when he is potty trained and ready to join the team at Goddard. The other reviewer nailed it. The current director told me at least one lie every time I spoke with her. She was also was rude and disrespectful to my wife. Long story short, I returned her rude attitude right back to her and they expelled my child. As bad as being lied to is, when they actually told the truth it was even worse. For example, they told me they expected toddlers to remain on their sleeping mats for the entire two hour nap time, even if they weren't sleeping, TODDLERS, sitting still for two hours. At the time I did not know that the state law limits the time they can be expected to sit on a mat at nap time to 30 mins. Oftentimes my child does not nap. One day the "caregiver" was hit several times by my child while she was "encouraging" them to stay on their mat. The concerning report this behavior prompted me to wonder what was causing that kind of reaction. That behavior is totally out of the norm for my child. Then there was two or three more nearly identical reports. Worried, I went to speak with the director about what was happening, you see these reports were being written almost everyday, and the only differences between them were the dramatic accounts of the ever worsening behavior. I claimed that based on what these reports detailed, it looked like whatever was causing these episodes is probably being brought on by a lack of responsiveness by the teacher. "Whatever she is doing, isn't working and its teaching them to lash out. And it seems she is repeating the same antagonistic behavior towards them and getting the same result." The director assured me in the most confident and resolute manner possible, that "the teacher is trying different things". Then the teacher came in. When I outlined my concerns, she immediately conceded that she "gets caught up in the minutiae and does the same things." (that is a verbatim quote by the way, "the minutiae"?) Which is of course a direct contradiction of the statement made not five minutes prior by the director. During the conversation with the teacher I also learned about the specifics and details of how "Time Out" is implemented in her classroom. I think that last bit is interesting because when we took our concerns to the owner she was very quick to mention that they have a strict "no time out" policy. The theme here of course, is that if your child falls outside of whatever their "most desired normal" behavioral preferences are, the teachers will be free to break state imposed laws(this is a serious allegation, but I have proof in the form of one of the incident reports. It details her confining my child to his mat for more than the state allowed maximum 30 minutes. Then she signed it) about the appropriate care for children. All the while the management and owners will lie through their teeth in order to avoid accepting that we are talking about toddlers, and their staff is making these situations worse. This review is long enough I have several more frankly worse stories but ill just outline the one that got us expelled: My child was denied the pudding from their lunch, because they didn't eat very much of the rest of the lunch and the teacher was concerned that giving them the pudding would be giving them "sugar on an empty stomach". She didn't want to have a challenging nap time with them hopped on sugar. But the pudding was sugar free and that decision meant a three year old was expected to endure that "empty stomach" until after the two hour nap time. From 8:00 AM(the time they ate breakfast, which was known by the teacher) until 3:00 PM. Shocking as it might sound, my hungry child had an incident. But it actually was shocking to them. They claimed that his out burst was completely out of nowhere. I had to point out to them that, they had created the situation by denying food to my child. This is NORMAL for them. They didn't even consider that a hungry child would misbehave. If you have made it this far and are still reading, and, considering this place, just remember that you were warned. read more

We moved to Colorado Springs in December of 2013 and thoroughly researched child development centers for our 2 and 4 year old sons. We had high expectations based experience with our previous preschool. Based on our research we visited 3 centers and Goddard was the clear winner. But at the end of the day you really do not know if it is the best choice until your kids settle in, you have some experiences and see the response and the results. 6 months after our decision we feel even stronger about our decision to send our kids to the Colorado Springs Goddard School. From the front office team, to the management to the teachers, they all do the their very best even in the most challenging circumstances. I have seen them rally around families going through tragic circumstances and go above an beyond. The communication is frequent, informative and clear. My experiences with the teachers has been positive and they actively work with you and your child on their needs while balancing the needs of the other children. The management is very engaged and responsive. I have a hard time getting my kids to leave school at the end of the day. Based on our experience, I highly recommend this school. read more

My son has gone through a lot of change and taking him here was just one more he was hesitant about. After a few weeks of him not wanting me to leave him, the teachers and owner brainstormed with me. Ever since then, they have gotten to know him so the drop offs are great and he is SO comfortable. He literally runs to the door each morning in excitement. We have since moved further from the location and because of how he thrives here, I will make the drive each day. This place has incredible structure, and the academics are amazing! My 2 1/2 year old learns something every day and is so excited to share. ALL of the teachers know his name, not just his teachers. This means so much to me as a mommy. We love it! read more
