Hopefully after reading my review you can make an informed decision to sign up or not. In the end we moved on to a new studio (cheaper price and better communication). But Georgia's still might the right choice for you. One of my biggest fears with any dance studio is when they force girls to dress and dance provocatively like they were in a hip hop music video. I'd say Georgia's is more on the conservative side which was a big plus. If you're new here it can be tough getting pertinent dance studio information. Sue (owner) has no concept of technology and often posts official announcements via poster board on the windows of the studio. Good luck getting info for picture day or info buying the recital video. That's probably one of the main factors for leaving here. The classes are fine and so was the instruction. Tho keep in mind instructors struggle with receiving information from the owner too. The big recital in June. After a year of classes you'll be expecting a proper recital and Georgia's doesn't disappoint. They rent out the Center Stage theater ( California Center of the Arts) for three nights of recitals. A total of 40 different classes put on a performance before a packed house each night. If you're into a big production, Georgia's is the place to go. Notes: - Cash only!?! This is not a liquor store! - Instructors can be let go on a whim.. - No parents allowed. They have a waiting room up front, or chairs in the back alley area but no cameras of the classes like other studios. - While there are some very competitive dancers (and parents) that's not the norm. - The receptionist/ cash collector is just there to collect payment. No vested interest in being enthusiastic about the studio or the customers. - There are additional fees for the recital and a whopping $26 per ticket to watch each night. I'm not suggesting Sue (owner) is making a profit and I suspect she's losing money on the recital. I'm pointing out additional fees you may or may not be made aware of. This also goes back to the lack of communication. So is Georgia's worth it? Look, there's a great recital and most people like this studio. Just know it's far from perfect and the owner refuses to modernize.. So yeah, give it a try for a year..

When we first joined, we weren't even looking for ballet. Our daughters enjoyed trying different styles like tap, Broadway jazz, and hip hop before finally deciding to try ballet - which they quickly fell in love with. One of the highlights of every year is the Nutcracker production. I love that even the youngest dancers get meaningful roles they are excited about. My daughters have so much fun participating and look forward to it year after year. What stands out most about 4S Dance is the culture. The older dancers are kind, welcoming, and encouraging to the younger students, creating a supportive environment that feels like a true community. I also appreciate the emphasis on age-appropriate choreography and costumes. We are so grateful to be part of the 4S Dance community and highly recommend it!

Still a wonderfully nurturing dance studio with immensely patient and dedicated teachers and staff…read more It's been 9 years, and the studio has grown in space and homegrown talent, which is evident in the ambitious goals the studio successfully executes each year. This is a ballet-based studio with a growing musical theater program, and fun recreational/non-competitive class offerings in ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop and even pilates reformer. The ballet side includes a pre-pro program that is intended to nurture students with professional dance aspirations or just want to be in "club level" ballet (i.e. your young 9 year old kid will be there 2-3 times a week and your 12/13+ tween will be there 4/5 times a week multiple hours a day. Dancers participating in shows will have Saturday rehearsals). The AD has an annual assessment (for pre-pro students) to assess goals and steps needed to achieve them. Recently, many of these students have been invited to well known ballet SIs, including PNB, PBT, SAB, and ABT. The AD further supports their school/ballet balance and many of the pre-pro dancers have been waived out of PE through OCIS (Off Campus Independent Study). Annually, the staff presents "the Nutcracker" where all roles (except 1-2 adult male roles, which are professionally filled) are casted by their classically trained students. Over the last 3 years, they've also presented a shorter storybook ballet of similar caliber. Every year we've been here, there has been an end of year recital series, which is the main opportunity for the non-ballet students to present what they've learned in choreographed pieces. The studio has grown to include a musical theater program, which also provides opportunities to shine in "Mini Musicals". Yes, the hallways can be a little "extra", but that's what happens when students love the place so much that they are there for multiple classes in the afternoons, and on rehearsal weekends. And yes, dance can be pricey, but my experience is that the rec level classes are comparable to any other rec level activity my other kid has done with *professional* teachers, it's obviously more expensive than little league or soccer which are volunteer coached. Further, pricing is on a tiered structure, where "the more classes you take, the cheaper your 5th, 6th, 7th, etc class is." And yes - sounds nuts, but many of the pre-pro kids love it there enough that they're there for that many classes. Lastly, I didn't realize how grateful I am for this until my daughter got older, but the owners refuse to allow revealing costumes and uniforms. You'll find the students in leotards/tights, athleisure wear, and tasteful recital costumes - not a booty short or bra/crop top in sight, as I wish dance culture would be. Overall, a great place to be for those with professional ballet aspirations (and who want to be challenged appropriately), or who want to learn other styles for enjoyment without the expectation to compete.

She took summer classes and we immediately signed up for fall classes and she danced all 2022-2023. And we're so excited for the 23-24 dance year! She takes two classes a week and we may have to sign up for more because she wants to dance every single day here! Not only has she gained confidence and a core group of friends, but she's had the fire ignited in her to dance. To see her so thrilled about something at such a young age is so magical and we have the teachers and Gabi (the owner) to thank! Their passion for the art of dance and teaching pours out of their energy and it's contagious truly! We are forever grateful for GC Dance Company and we'll be part of the GC family for many years to come. Not only has GC Dance basically become my daughter's second home but I love the community here as well. We were able to take part in the winter showcase, nutcracker and the end of the year performances as well and let me tell you...phenomenal! Everything was ran so smoothly and that's 100% thanks to the entire staff and instructors. The older dancers are so amazing with the littles! Constantly encouraging them and my daughter is just amazing by their talent...she's gained at least 10 big sisters here and it's so wonderful to watch. I can't say enough wonderful things about this company and I recommend them left and right because our experience has just been above and beyond anything we ever imagined. It's a fun environment but they're also learning SO much! It's the perfect mixture between fun and structure and technique. I spoke with many mom's in the local dance community prior to signing up as well and have been told time and time again how phenomenal GC Dance Company is and I see now first hand...this is such a special studio and I can't wait to see my daughter grow her talent throughout the years to come.

We weren't noticing a lot of improvement. We switched to GC Dance and everything changed! They saw her strengths and caught her up on technique that she didn't have mastered. There is a lot to be said for going to a small/boutique dance studio. You have more of a relationship with the teachers, staff, and the owner, Gabi, and it makes it all feel like a second home. My daughter has made lifelong friends at GC Dance company. Such a great experience!
