I've been shopping at The Golden Crane for almost 20 years, usually picking up a special piece here and there. But in 2023, coming out of COVID and after years of living in athleisure or in items that felt just "meh, good enough," I realized I had completely lost my sense of personal style. I didn't know where to start. Regina and Julie changed that. They took the time to get to know me and work with me, and that helped me develop a style that truly feels like me and also fits my lifestyle. Their guidance has been thoughtful, patient, and incredibly helpful. Through this process, I've also learned that buying things online or from big-box stores and even second hand stores was actually more expensive in the long run. Why? Because I kept ending up with clothes that didn't fit me right, didn't work for my day-to-day life, were poor quality and didn't last, and ultimately weren't aligned with the aesthetic I truly wanted but didn't yet know how to create. Now I have a smaller closet with high-quality pieces from vendors they carefully select for their commitment to ethical and sustainable fashion, handmade goods, local artists, and women-owned businesses. My closet feels fuller, more intentional, and more "me" than it ever has. And I get stopped and complimented almost every time I wear one of their pieces. That kind of attention isn't something I've ever sought out, but it's amazing how a quick conversation about a great outfit or accessory can brighten even the darkest, rainiest day. horrible customer service. I have purchased items over the years that. have been broken (as in a final sale necklace. Where the break only became obvious when I tried to wear it) or just very badly constructed. I've been cautious in my purchases as I don't want to get caught out. But last summer I came across a dress that met my needs perfectly. I ensured the fit was correct before my purchase. Then I wore it, and I was at a gathering and moving around. The buttons down the front loosened up while I was up, and when I sat down the front opened wide, embarrassing me and my companions. When I reported it to the store, knowing I could not return the faulty item, the response was, in full "We've never had any problems with them before". Wrong response. The respectful, responsible, and caring response would have been "I'm so sorry" or something expressing empathy. So the store might have cute and "unique" clothing, but if you want something worth having you're better off looking elsewhere read more

A funky, exotic spot in downtown Corvallis. The owners are friendly, and they wear their own wares. The clothing is from around the world, so there's an international feel. Golden Crane has its own personality. It's a bright, happy spot, even if it's overcast and rainy outside. They used to have a display with world music, but it's been long gone. While they offer used clothing, it's best to buy new here. The changing rooms&the overall vibe is pleasant. Plus, they also sell home decor and furniture if you want a more exotic look. read more

Love the new look and fine tuning of an already nice collection of clothing. This store makes it easy to shop! It has all the basics and then a perfect range of time to go to work clothes or date night. The fabrics and construction are excellent making these items sure to last for years. The best thing about this place would be the jewelry and scarves/accessories. But it is where the fashions of the clothes and the prices that keep me uninterested and appalled. No wonder she always has sale signs in her window, no one wants to pay her prices and I'm sure her creditors and vendors need owed money so she has to take a loss. Much of the clothing has absolutely no shape or tailoring to it. With that I am sure has a lot to do with it being not only of interest to the crunchy set and Oregon country fair followers. Need a frumpy broomstick dress? This is the place for you, and believe me you'll pay out the ass for it when the owner probably paid 10.00 before her mark up. I've never seen so much clothing with no shape being passed off as fashionable. Honestly the greedy owner sets her prices too high, which is the reason why I believe she's always having a sale. The jewelry selection, especially the rings and bracelets are beautiful but also overpriced. Next door at Northern Star she's undersold in every aspect and you're not being followed around by paranoid clerks. With the selection of clothing very limited in Corvallis, this shop has the ability to offset all of the mainstream clothing being sold that is mass produced yet still remain stylish, but for several decades Ruby has been pushing the same style, the same clothing and the same overpriced inventory. I'm sure she has something here you saw in 1987 that hasn't sold and she's just upped the price because it is now considered vintage. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

4.5 stars. One of my favorite spots to shop for both clothing and for jewelry. Yes, you might be paying a little more than if you were shopping at a chain store, but anyone who wants to stay away from "fast fashion" will appreciate the well sewn hems and high quality material that they offer. It's not going to fall apart right away, which is important to me when I'm spending that hard earned cash! I also really love their bralettes, really comfortable and cute. read more

A great local store with a fun selection of clothing and accessories. Any purchase is sure to get you a compliment from your girlfriends at the very least. Some things are a little pricey, but that comment comes from someone who normally shops for clothes at Mervyn's and Target. I ended up buying two dresses, a skirt, and a corset for around $200 total, but it was worth it 100%. The ladies who work there are super nice and very helpful to customers, preparing fitting rooms without having to even be asked. They also wear the merchandise themselves and can give recommendations on what the most popular items are. I intend to return to this store every time I am in Corvallis! read more

I am visiting a close friend in Corvallis and asked to go to the Golden Crane. I remember this shop from previous visits. I enjoy the fresh fashions, unique apparel, and the bright, colorful arrangements of the clothing. The sales associates are friendly and helpful finding clothing, matching colors with outfits. They allow you time on your own, to decide if the clothing is right for you. I will return to The Golden Crane every time I'm in Corvallis. It's a delightful shop. read more

If you're the type that likes to think that Stevie Nicks fashion will be making a comeback, then this is the store for you. "Ruby Moon" is the owner of this shop, which sadly is one of the few last original remaining indie businesses in the area. That said, you could kind of expect a little bit of a higher price range. But not to the extent that she feels should be charged. She purchases stuff from the same vendors that many other business people also purchase from in the valley and still she is overpriced. I have seen some of her exact inventory in other stores (almost next door, Northern Star for example) for pennies on the dollar. If she maybe became a tad more modern, a but more cutting edge and scale back on the granola wear I would have been more impressed. You REALLY have to look and dig deep to find something, and even then it is a crap shoot. Plain and simple, this place is a rip off. The clothes are ugly, and I wish that it wasn't sold on customers as a 'fashion forward' business. As far as price range goes, it is from moderate to pricey. read more
