Whereas it is a nice layout in general and features good greens, most of their tee boxes (front) are in terrible shape. Most tee boxes are exceptionally small, poorly maintained, and rarely flat. If the management would devote some time to reconstruct these tee boxes RHGC could be a great course.

I was surprised at how tight and how much ungulation this course has for being out in the cornfields. Greens: 4.3/5 Fairways: 4.1/5 Tees: 4/5 This course is different from any other course in East Central Indiana. And that's a good thing because most are flat with little challenge, but Royal Hylands has it all.. multiple water hazards, abundant trees and plenty of ungulation. I would recommend this course to anyone who's tired of playing the same courses in ECI.

There were…read morea couple of miscommunications before the wedding day but the owner took care of everything. The food they provided was excellent. They were great about tearing down and moving the food to an outer area when it was time for the food area to become a dance floor (pre-arranged). The club was still open during the early part of the event so we had a few people come through the clubhouse and had to wait a bit for members to play through so we could do photos but I feel that sort of thing is pretty normal in such a rural area. It's right on the main road so there were some fairly large trucks and loud bikes going by but not much you can do about that on a gorgeous day.

We can't prove it, but when I said it was weird that the cart had been moved the young African-American kid that moved it was running his mouth giving me attitude. I walked out of the pro shop when him and his brother who is not an employee followed me outside of the pro shop trying to intimidate me!! My girlfriend was extremely scared!! Things became heated when they followed me outside. I've never been told to shut up by an employee of a business in my life before today. The blonde boy also followed me outside of the pro shop and after my round when I asked if those two were employees, he asked me why I wanted to know multiple times even though he knew exactly why I wanted to know. He was just trying to protect his buddies. He must've really been upset that I got into it with his friends because he had all kinds of attitude when I brought the cart back. So unprofessional! If you want to be followed and intimidated by punk kids then go to Crestview. I'll never go back

It has such an inviting feel to it this time around. The course itself had a perfect balance of sliding difficulties with each specific hole. The sand within the bunkers was of an excellent coarseness and didn't mimic nearby course issues. The roughs, greens and fairways were in excellent condition and you could tell that the new ownership really put in the time and effort to make it look brand new.

On a couple of holes we had to study the map and figure out where to tee off. It's do able, but it can be very confusing. Around the greens there was a lot of dead grass making it difficult at times to locate your ball. The fairways were great, the greens were great, just a lot of dead grass around the outsides of the greens. It had rained here for several days in a row so Km sure not being able to mow until it was out of control is to blame. All in all, it's a fun place to play once you figure out where the next hole is.
