The occasion was a student faculty art show and sale which was held in several different interconnected buildings. The student art was interesting and enjoyable; seeing the different modes of artist expression has always fascinated me. One of the biggest thrills was running into John Falato, artist and instructor at the school and having him escort me through the faculty exhibition. His work is clear, crisp and representational to the finest of detail, it's as if you are looking at a photograph. Paier school has had some notable artists and instructors one of my personal favorites is Ken Davies who achieved national prominence with many sold out shows in New York City. Paier School of Art is a little art school tucked away on a side street in Hamden, Ct, but oh what a hidden gem it is!!!

My family has been very happy with our choice in childcare. The teachers and administrators really care about the kids and provide an environment that is not only safe and warm but creative and challenging. We love the emphasis on fresh, natural foods (all food is provided/included, which is SO convenient) and outdoor play. They also do a very cool "Summer camp" program where the kids have outdoor/water play all morning every day, and the preschool/pre-K kids have several field trips. There are also occasional "bonus" events such as an end-of-summer family party and Christmas-time pajama party for the kids.
