I often grab some white rolls when I'm making hamburgers, because they're easy to get to on my way home. They do have a lot of competition in the location that they are in, but for the products that they offer, they're every bit as good as the others. I haven't yet had any pies or sausage rolls there, but the people are lovely and chatty, and I've always walked out feeling as good as you could expect when you buy something at a bakery. On the plus side, the lemon tart was already enough for 8 people so we didn't even make it to the cheescake. Will update my review after I dig into it. Handy location and the price seems reasonable. I would go back to get their cakes and hope to try some pies next time.

They go on about using some special fair-trade organic chocolate or something, but I just wanted a normal hot chocolate. This drink was pretty bad, to the point I just left it half full. It was bitter and just tasted like someone added milk to grounded cocoa. My sister got the ice chocolate (which looked amazing), but was just as bad. I would come back for the coffee (which was fine) and the crepes, but never the hot choc.

All baked on premises, the guys at Heavenly Pies stock all your favourites varieties, and don't neglect the vegetarians either. I love their range of vegie rolls. The spinach and cheese is a personal favourite, and the addition of fresh pasta inside really fills out the flavour and texture. Although pricier than your average bakery, this isn't your average bakery, and these aren't your average pies!

The baked goods are delicious in and of themselves, but when you factor in that they're all vegan and also have some gluten-free options, this place is doubly impressive. Mister Nice Guy's Bakeshop is hugely popular among vegans and non-vegans alike, and it's easy to see why once you've had your first bite of their giant cinnamon rolls, chocolate babkas, danishes, doughnuts, or cupcakes. They have a seriously impressive range of sweet goods, and also a few savoury ones (including vegan sausage rolls and pretzel dogs!) We've tried their cinnamon rolls, lemon cake, chocolate babka, chocolate danish, croissants, and a rosemary and potato thingie (the only savoury thing we've sampled so far). They were all delicious. The danishes were a little too rich for us but still good. The savoury one tasted exactly like potatoes au gratin and brought back childhood memories. The star of their offerings, though, is the cinnamon roll -- this was the first place I found a jumbo American-style cinnamon roll here in Australia, complete with heaps of sweet icing. The best cinnamon roll I've had in Australia, vegan or otherwise. They also do coffee here -- you can choose from soy, almond, coconut, rice, or even cashew milk. My non-vegan partner had the soy milk (Bonsoy) and loved it. Given the portion size of their baked goods, everything here is pretty reasonably priced. Service is super-friendly too, even on busy weekend mornings when they are slammed. Atmosphere is cute -- kind of 50s retro. Definitely a must-visit if you want delicious baked goods, especially if you have any dairy, egg, nut, or gluten allergies/intolerances. But even if you don't, this place is worth a visit.
