Decent place for a quiet pint after work. Food served till 11pm which is pretty handy but it can be hit and miss, have had a few eats here, hot dogs are great, chicken wings & the burritos I'd recommend too. Steaks are half decent and roast of the day can be a bit dry. Main problems are that they don't server the regular booze, no Guinness, no Smirnoff, no Johnnie Walker. It seems like they do a lot of craft beers and have them on tap but I've been in several times tried to taste a few and they always seem to be out, I get the feeling it's more for show or whoever is responsible for their stock levels needs to go. The place itself has a nice vibe to it, they cleaned it up well, nice touch with the live fire inside, seats are comfy and plenty of space in the smoking area. It is relatively competitive when it comes to prices compared to the local areas so decent enough for a visit but nothing to write home about. read more

OK so I'm reviewing based on a pre-opening training session which they held a few days before the official launch - managed to get a ticket from the social club at work and two of us went along to check it out. For those Blanchardstown locals that still remember when this place was Light or Heaven there is no trace of either left. I think they've redecorated the place really well! Where we sat (upstairs) was like being in a gentleman's study or library - wood panels, dark wood floor and leather seats. It's all v grown up! They had a big enough menu for their preview... I chose rose wine (which they have on tap) and the BBQ hog burger and she had the BBQ ribs. The BBQ sauce was lovely. Massive portion size. Good selection of craft bottled beer and they're not at all expensive. Which is great to see. The staff are really pleasant and were v professional for one of their first training sessions. Nice addition to the area around Blanchardstown Centre and actually I can't wait for it open officially so I can visit again. Just remember it is a Wetherspoons so expect good comfort food and inexpensive drinks but credit where credit is due. Just attended a preview opening as part of staff training. Was expecting delays and patchy service. It couldn't have been more wrong. Well trained staff and plenty of them attentively flirting about the place keeps things moving smoothly. Once we ordered at the bar and sat down our food was on the table in ten minutes, very impressive. My kid was also given a free fruit bag in the meantime to keep her occupied which was a nice touch. I had the full rack of ribs which were tender and juicy and served with coleslaw and chips as well as some samey onion rings which were probably the only thing that was just OK. Nice pint of ale to go with them and very competitively priced in comparison to neighbouring eateries. Waiting for the full opening next week to check them out for breakfast, having seen the breakfast menu in their other Irish pubs I think they will absolutely clean up in this segment as the value for money here is unbelievable. Looking forward to ready other reviews to see contrasting opinions but I would say most will be happy with this new addition to the local scene. read more

SO CHEAP. So very cheap. The food is absolutely nothing to write home about, but neither is it too offensive on the tastebuds. Also, if you down enough of those discount bevvys I'm sure it will taste gourmet. *hic* The staff are absolutely lovely. Once kind soul replaced my entire beer after it was contaminated by a kamikaze fly. Menu wise, it's the very same as every other Weatherspoons ever, the only downside is that this particular venue, is that the PLACE IS ALWAYS OUT OF EVERYTHING. 'Can I have a Carlesberg?' 'None left' 'Onion rings?' 'None left' 'Chicken Burger?' 'None left' 'Fish and Chips?' ..... Well you get my point; that was my last visit. However, I will never stop going there. Good food, VERY BAD service (not to mention two brainless gorillas at the entrance checking out your bag like in some sort of a night club). The waiters upstairs are disorganised bunch of people in their 20s, running like headless chickens, serving wrong orders, waiting over 40 minutes for a dish, serving mains before the starter... Such a horrible experience in there today. The staff were disorganized. They forgot about our coffee order, then they brought the wrong coffee for 2 out of 3 of us having breakfast. I've ordered pancakes and I got 2 dry pancakes as the waitress said they Have no maple syrup. I changed my order to salmon bagel, she came back saying they have no salmon. I changed to bagel with cream cheese. I received toasted bagel and a cream cheese sachet on the side. I've eaten better breakfast in poor hotels. Shocking. Coffee arrived when everyone finished their breakfast, after second reminder to the waitress that she forgot to make the coffee. Bap was cheaper than the pancakes I ordered and I had to go and ask for refund. Funny enough I saw the same pancakes I rejected that the same waitress brought to a different table.. Shocking place. Very well refurbished and across 2 floors. It has the Wetherspoon template stamped all over it. Just like the other locations in Dublin they have invested allot of money and you cannot fault the value they bring but sadly service is really lacking and that is really the issue. Food was flying out of the kitchen but I overheard then say allot had sold and this was around 6pm. Only good thing about this place is the cheap alcohol and even then they have upped the price since the place opened. Food is terrible and microwaved, no music or atmosphere and the majority of staff unfortunately are to young and undertrained causing stupid ques to pile up for no reason. Management are a joke. On busy nights most tables are left to just fill up with bottles as they never have enough staff on.. read more

2 stars for decor/menu variety -2 stars for service: Very disappointed with table service, you need to order at the till with a table number which is very awkward as the restaurant is huge and once you go find your table and go back to till to tell them, you table can be taken by another customer. Also disappointing service regarding booking a table, was told over the phone this wouldn't be possible. We had gone to make our order when we were told that our choices were out, quite a lot of dishes were out for 6pm on a Sunday. We also had been told on our previous visit it would be an hour wait for food. -1 for food quality. The chicken wings were very below average and there BBQ sauce not very flavourful. Place feels like a warehouse as soon as you enter to order food you must first find a table,note the number and proceed to the bar to place your order as there is no waiter service taking orders, the food to a long time to arrive and was like warm we felt the food was reheated you do get a free drink with your meal soft or alcoholic the choice of beer and ales bottled beers are large enough and staff will let you sample before you buy as many of the beers would not be familiar to locals they don't serve Guinness Heineken etc I tried an English ale it was priced at €3.50 so represents good value but overall the food is terrible the beer middling staff are very young and still finding their feet so this would account for the slow service . So if you are looking for a cheap night out and the quality of food/drink isn't top of your list then the great wood is for you but for the extra few euro there are far better options locally read more

The food is " Mexican Monday".... Without salsa.(they ran out) ... Frozen chicken, processed and the guacamole was disgusting. Starters came out 45 mins after we ate only two bites of the food as it was so bad. I'm not sure what the delay was as the starters was only nachos , which don't come as they appear in the photo which included beef, a plate of nachos with melted cheese.
