I asked several times if he could handle everything, and he confidently assured me he could. When I had to reschedule the cleaning because I wasn't ready, I took responsibility, paid the requested deposit, and even added a tip for the inconvenience. Paul later completed a separate junk/donation haul, which I paid him for. The problem came with my storage move. We were scheduled for 11 a.m. The morning of, Paul told me he was trying to get his truck started and would call me back. He never did. I called and texted several times over the next few hours with no response. I even told him, "If you can't make it today, that's totally okay. I just need to know so I can make other arrangements." Still nothing. This was the day before I was leaving Pullman for good. He was also supposed to clean my apartment and never communicated about that either. Thankfully, my friends and even strangers stepped up and helped me get everything done. What really got me was discovering another review describing an almost identical no-show/no-communication experience. Paul had actually mentioned that review to me beforehand. Whew... if that wasn't God trying to tell me something. Paul also still owes me my deposit for services he did not complete. To be fair, I am NOT disputing what I paid him for the hauling work he actually performed. I don't write this with bitterness, and I genuinely wish Paul and his business well. Things happen. Trucks break down. People get overwhelmed. But communicate with your customers, and if you don't provide a service they paid toward, return their money. If you hire Affordable Janitorial for something time-sensitive, based on my experience, have a backup plan. And if any of y'all know Paul, do me a favor. I'm never talking to that man again after he did me like that , but just ask him one question for me: "Paul... why you do that lady like that!?" I've been scared to death of this dead, tall, pine tree falling on my or any of my wonderful neighbors' homes the last few weeks. Gave me honest thoughts, took his time explaining things to me, and quoted me an exponentially cheaper price than what I had received from other "tree guys." I claimed the job wasn't too bad, but she personally came and gave my husband an estimate of 6 hours after that conversation. They discussed what work needed to be done and she told my husband it will be about 6 hours. If there is one person it will be $50/hr and if it is 2 people it will be $100/hr. Either way she told him it would be $300. She came out with another lady and charged us more than double! We were quoted $300 and she charged us $700! 2 people at 7 hrs each. She did not estimate this job for 12 hours or 14 hours! She estimated this job for 6 hours. She did not call us after 3 hours and 2 people working. My husband showed up at 4 hours in and she said it was going well. She did not indicate it would take them an additional 3 hours after he got there. Did they clean the property well, yes, but her estimation skills were way off. Beware, when you get an estimation from this business. When I spoke with her after my husband wrote her the check I was told that she could not assume who was a good communicator and who wasn't. I told her it is her job to communicate with the client when the job will be more than double the estimate given. In the end, she said sorry that I felt like I had a bad experience. She got paid but I am going to warn everyone of my experience.
