Wow, Green Goose has had a move and a couple of different iterations since my last review over 10 years ago! The new owners and the current location are great. The place is packed with great items and its a large space. You not only get lots to choose from, but lots of ideas, too! Staff is friendly and helpful. Purchases and consignment are quick and easy. I have an account from way back and can either send in pictures to see if they are interested or stop by and bring items right to the counter. I usually just have small items and they usually take and sell whatever I bring. If items don't sell you have the option of donating. Go in and take a look around, there is something for everyone! Furniture, pictures, dishes, decorations, purses, jewelry, and so much more! read more

I was in the area for a grooming appointment for my pet and a search for "nearby thrift shop" brought me to Green Goose. Well... I didn't' realize they are a home goods and furniture resale, which I am not in need of. But I took a peek anyway lol. The store is very well organized and I liked how they had room setups together like bedroom versus dining area. They have a lot of nice accessories to decorate the rooms as well. All the items in the store were in excellent condition and most looked brand new even though they are resale. The pricing was upfront and they discount by age of the item. The staff was very friendly and told me about the store and how the consignment process works. I've added them to my list for when I am in need of home goods because I loved the variety and selection so much. read more

I've sold and I've bought from here numerous times, but most recently The Green Goose helped save me some major dollars. During this pandemic, I decided it was time to move. I found a house I liked within an hour of it going on the market and I bought it within 36 hours. House bought, now to sell mine. After some fluffing and staging my old house went on the market and sold within 48 hours. The selling and buying market was hot during the pandemic. My dilemma, I was moving from a 950 sq. Ft. Bungalow to a 2200 sq. Ft. brick ranch home. I was gaining a second bedroom, formal dining room and a great room. I needed furniture. I was able to split up my current living room furniture between the great room and living room at the new home. I just needed a few filler pieces to help me out. My new living room was huge and I had a lot of space to fill. Lucky for me, I found two pairs of upholstered chairs that would coordinate with each other and a trunk that I could use as a table. I couldn't believe the prices. They were so inexpensive and in excellent condition. It took me two trips with a small pick-up truck, but I got them moved to the new house in IL. As guest would come and see the new house, they would comment on the new chairs and could not believe they came from a Consignment shop. If you haven't shopped at the Green Goose, you must check them out. They've got good merchandise and the service is attentive and helpful, too. I have been wanting a bedside table lamp for the guestroom but I haven't had the chance to go out and really search for one. Since I was in the neighborhood, I decided to go in and check out the Green Goose because what's better than finding a lamp that I like? Not spending a lot of money for it! Browsing I didn't really find anything that tickled my fancy, especially not for the price range I was looking for. Then I went more toward the back of the store and found a cool one that is the perfect size for the guestroom. What more?! I saw a rather attractive glass bowl with some colorful flowers that I had to take home. It seemed to whisper about how perfect it would look on top of my reading corner table (ohhh... And it does!) It definitely added some splash of color in my little corner of the world. The ladies were very helpful during check out. I didn't want to grab the lamp and start a merchandise avalanche so I asked one of the ladies to grab it for me. Anyway, this store is pretty well-packed with furniture (bedroom, kitchen, livingroom, etc), little decorating knick knacks, large and small wall decor, picture frames of all sizes and style varieties, plates, jewelry, Amish-made jams, and many others. Also, it doesn't smell like a used-items place... You know, that ever so familiar mothballed closet scent. The Green Goose has a very pleasant aroma and they really do seem to value their clients. The best part about The Green Goose is the pricing. Stock in the store turns over quickly because the prices keep bringing customers through the door. This is the type of place you should be at weekly if you are decorating a room or home. Treasures await. Feels like boutique shopping because everything is so clean and nicely displayed. Friendly and helpful staff. Join the mailing list for coupons. The Green Goose has gift items like brand new soy candles, Goose Poop (pepper jelly) and greeting cards. The also have vintage and re-purposed household items. Everything I have seen at the Green Goose is in perfect used condition. It is a very well decorated neat place. They have so many nice pieces from couches to accent chairs tables consoles, crystals, art pieces ,mirrors andnso on. Every piece is special in it's own way. 90 percent of those pieces looks close to new. They have lots of options but your eyes won't be burnt out by looking around. They are spaces out in a smart way. I really do not usually buy used pieces, but I like vintage. This place offers what you guys might be looking for. Hethe quality is super nice. I just consigned my first two items here...a sofa table and bistro set. Robyn, the owner, said the bistro set would probably sell that day. It did not, but it did sell two days later! I'm happy...can't wait to get that check. Every one of the employees I have met here is very friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this store for shopping (Absolutely!) and for consigning. Store recently had a sale over the weekend; and I arrived early to check them out to see if I could find any bargains. The place was clean and well organized. However, items were pricey! Also lacks good customer service skills and not friendly; Floor employees didnt greet me when I came in, or approach me if they could help me find anything and very few customers was in when i was browsing around! I did buy sterling silver fashionable rings that caught my eye, and some other frilly items. Cashier who rung up my items did have a slight smile on her face. The owner was extremely rude and does not know how to talk to people. Instead of thanking for consideration when wanting to consign with them I just got a "no thank you" no explanation why and when I called to ask why and say was rude just saying no thank you without an explanation or appreciation for considering them for consignment his response was "how many successful businesses do you own?" No apology, nothing in addition he basically called what I had was trash. I will never consign with Green Goose, shop there or recommend them. Great store and great staff. I love their selection: mostly traditional style furniture, and stuff for every room. A little light on kitchen stuff (We were looking for an island), but every other room is covered and represented in here. Plenty of decor, wardrobes and alot of china cabinets. They also have jewelry, local jams and jellies, candles and sauces. So it also doubles as a gift shop. There are more expensive pieces and furniture even as cheap as low 100s. read more

I have been to this location several times since it opened, and now it's the only location for the Green Goose since the location on Hampton has closed. The Hampton merchandise has been moved to this location and it's all been consolidated into this store. This store has more space and storage area than the Hampton location; I asked if they were planning to move over to this location and close the Hampton location originally, and I was told that this is a better location from the point of size and storage. There really is more room here for the merchandise, and it's still got the same charm that the Hampton location had. I liked the Hampton location a lot, but this location is just as nice and just as interesting. Merchandise moves in and out rather quickly here just like the Hampton location did, so if you are interested in buying something or want whatever you see, you should probably buy it when you see it. There is a delivery service for the furniture if you have to have it delivered, and the amount that you pay for that needs to be calculated into the price of what you are going to buy when you want a particular piece or pieces. I thought their delivery prices were very reasonable since they have that service. Of course, you can transport it yourself, but when you need to get something large like a diner set or a cabinet delivered, I definitely would take advantage of it. I like browsing around the store, and stop by when I have time for that. If I see something that I want, I buy it because it won't be there for very long. read more

I go to The Green Goose Resale every Tuesday at 2;00 p.m. I am selling everything. After 20 years you accumulate a lot of stuff. I had brand new items never out of the box. People give you stuff you never use or would want to use. I have sold quite a few items. Its great to purge and make a profit! The owner, Robin is great. She is easy to talk with. She really likes her business and makes it an easy transaction. If you need furniture or household goods, Check this place out. Robin gets in really good merchandise. Thank you for your response Robin. some FACT-BASED info for any potential customers. 1.This was NOT a MINOR flaw in the dresser. SOme scratches or a srew missing would have been understandable and no big deal. All drawers came out of tracks by bending open the tracks when any pressure was put on them. almost like they were made out of aluminum. I did not notice this until we tried to put clothes in the drawers. Dresser was TOTALLY UNUSABLE. Mistakes are made by businesses, but a good business rectify these mistakes. 2. I never said Robin would not pick up for 3 weeks (as she said in her response ) but 2 weeksl, and as i said she refused to give me a pick up date after that. I never yelled at her and communication was very clear (no return, essentially no re-consignment.). At this point in the conversation of course, i was not happy and let her know this. 3. Lastly and most importantly which was not addressed in response, Robin specifically and fraudulently stated on the phone that "there is nothing i can do about a refund after an item is purchased because the money is already credited to the consigners account " and as above in my review, the Green Goose Consignment agreement specifically allows Robin to do just that "give a refund" AFTER a customer has purchased an item. THIS WAS NOT EVEN CONSIDERED OR DISCLOSED. Maybe Robin would like to reconsider her errors here? At this point I'm only interested in a refund not a reconsignment. Everybody makes mistakes but its how you rectify and learn from these mistakes that shows your true colors. This is really not about the money, but about doing the right thing. read more

Giving a one star review is more than generous. Deserves zero. Terrible experience. The people operating this establishment shouldn't be allowed to have a business license in the 21st century. They lack a fundamental understanding of social media marketing. They promote merchandise on their social media channels that is not available for purchase. They do not remove images/info of merchandise that is sold and no longer available. Updating social media is not difficult. Failure to prop maintain and update social media is a breach of best practices. read more

The Green Goose is a fairly new furniture, decor and jewelry consignment shop on South Hampton in St. Louis Hills.I was impressed with the quality of the merchandise and bought several items on my last visit. The stock is more modern than retro. There is a mix of contemporary, country and kitchy. The store is clean and displayed well. So far, it doesn't have the second hand smell and the staff are friendly and helpful. Will be back. read more

I'm a big fan of antiquing, thrifting, and consignment shops in general. So when I spied The Green Goose while cruising down Hampton one day, I knew I needed to make it a point to stop. Something about the rocking chairs out front beckoned me in, and I'm glad I made it a point to stop Now, to begin, I do have to agree with another poster who stated that part of the shop is very ordinary. I saw several items that I could easily find in my grandmother's home. But for every ordinary piece, there were equally just as many little treasures. I recently moved to south city from the suburbs and wish that I would have landed on this place sooner, especially for furniture. They really do get some great pieces in- couches, tables, chairs, rugs, lamps, you name it. If you're new to St. Louis and looking for a great place to get some gently loved furnishings- this is your place. I also love that the owner seems to be pretty active within the local community. I have a friend who works for a nonprofit and once items have been in the shop for a certain amount of time without selling, they are donated to her nonprofit. Amazing. read more

After reading the stellar reviews for The Green Goose on Yelp, I was absolutely dying to visit once I finally moved to Saint Louis. My fiance and I stopped by this week to check the place out and (hopefully) find some nice things to help us decorate our new apartment. I will admit, we left empty-handed. However, this had nothing to do with the lack of selection and more to do with our desire to wait and see what kind of things will come through here in the future. Judging from the facebook page for this place, they get new, unique goods all the time... so we don't wanna jump the gun! I was impressed by the sheer number of fun and fairly-priced items that were on display at The Green Goose. It made me wish for a bigger apartment so I could buy more. I can't wait to return and make some serious purchases. Before Yelp, I had never heard of this place. I'm so glad I found it! Absolutely LOVE this place. I stop in frequently to check for new items and buy more of the divine scented candles that they sell (of which they will offer a discount if you return the used pots). I've always found the staff and Robin to be very friendly and welcoming and the prices vs. quality to be hard to beat. It's no wonder they have such a high turnover of merchandise. The Green Goose consignment gallery of home decor does not earn any stars in my book but the rating won't go 0 "horrible" rating. I took a few items to consign just to see how it would go. First, the manager was very arrogant and I just wanted to take my items and go. I opted to give it a try which was a mistake. I just today asked where one of my items was as I did not see it on my account. The staff could not find it all day but tonight, I get a call that they think it was chipped on the cart after I took it in and never put out for sale. So, no one bothered to call me to tell me the item was chipped and that information was not documented because no one knew that, and then they threw it away instead of asking me if I wanted it back in case I could fix it. I had that Japanese style lantern ceramic votive holder for probably 30 years without a scratch and I take it to the Green Goose and it is broken before it ever made it to the floor to be sold. I told them to pack up the other items and I was terminating my contract. The manager did not bother to come over to apologize nor was any compensation offered. They take no responsibility for damaged items because the public is handling them, but this was the staff! Thank goodness, I did not take my more valuable items, but this should not happen at all, and it was not handled professionally and there should be more respect for people's items. That item was mine, not theirs, and now it is gone. So attempting to consign items just cost me about $25 with 2 trips to that store and the loss of what I could have made at a yard sale on that one item. I have found better consignment shops in the area with better contract terms than the Green Goose so they will not get my business again. read more

Ok, I'm going to be the lone dissenter here but this place kind of rocks & kind of sucks. The Good: Beautiful layout. The Bad: Everything in there looks like all of the impractical things you accumulate over the years but don't really use. Need candlesticks circa 1997 - they have them. The furniture is mostly ugly with no style. It looks like the place where all the St. Louis Hills housewives dump their ordinary "last year's style" home furnishings when they decide to redecorate. And I find the staff to be surly, so-much-better-than-you, condescending and stuffy. Compared to other, local consignment shops this place is only meh for me.
