On July 26, 2024 I dropped our very healthy dog Jamie (a Doberman Pincher) off at The Grooming Station to get a bath. 20 min later I received a phone call telling me they were conducting CPR. Not 10 minutes later they told me she had died in the bath. The manager then proceeded to tell me they would get me the footage because the cameras always blinked red and an IT guy would retrieve the video. The owner (who lives in Tampa) called me the next morning to give her condolences and tell me the cameras (conveniently) weren't working at the time. Due to the offering to me of the video and then recanting I have been led to believe there was foul play. I was not able to get her a Necropsy as I wasn't able to drive her to Columbus that day because I have 2 toddlers. And the owner of the pet was the only one allowed to drive her to OSU. Please be careful with your pets and Grooming establishments. They don't have to adhere to ANY codes. They are running businesses as if it were The Wild Wild West! read more

I brought my dog home from Grooming Station and found blood all over my floors. Realized his back paw was bleeding and found his nail to be completely missing. Called the Grooming Station and they told me he must have got his nail caught on the cage or concrete after leaving and that I should put flour on it to stop bleeding. We brought my Romeo back to The Grooming Station again for a visit with Tonya. Despite the fact that he's a Shih Tzu, he basically likes to roll around outside and be a hot mess all the time. He's like this free spirit trapped in this tiny fluff ball body. I mentioned this before, but Shih Tzus can be a hard breed to cut. They have a lot of hair, flat faces and noses, and a lot of hair around the eyes...and I fully realize sometimes he probably looks messy when we bring him in. Sometimes when Romeo gets a cut, he comes back with a football head akin to Hey Arnold. Tonya doesn't do this, which makes me so happy! He comes back with a great cut around the face and a super white coat. She really understands working with his breed and is very caring and considerate. Chelsea at the front desk is also very kind, and I appreciate how she dotes over Romeo for a minute before taking him back. My little dude is a scaredy cat, so I appreciate anyone who shows him a little extra love. The facility itself is very nice. If you peek through the window/door, you can see all the babies in the back, in cages, waiting to be groomed! It's pretty hilarious. We'll continue to bring Romeo here. The Grooming Station is amazing and the management team and staff went out of their way to accommodate my dog. He is very anxious and can be aggressive when people approach him. I have to put a muzzle on him just so he can get groomed. He felt comfortable with them and eventually they were able to take his muzzle off. His haircut is perfect and they exceeded my expectations. We made two appointments for our dogs on May 12th. When we showed up on May 12th, they told us the appointment was for May 13th. I had driven 45 minutes to bring my dog to this groomer and they were incredibly rude to us when we spoke to them on the phone about it. When we showed up the next day, they told us we had cancelled our appointment the previous day which we never did. As we tried to explain our frustration, they got additional employees in the store to back them up and call us liars. They then refused to reschedule our dog or groom either of our dogs that day. There has to be underlying issues for the negative reviews as I have been taking my labs there for grooming for years and years. They are always super busy which is the true test of a well run business. All of their groomers are experienced and do excellent work. In all my years I have never seen any of the groomers being disrespectful to their customers. There has been a few times that it took a little longer than expected but upon inquiring as to reason why it was always because customers did not show up on time for their scheduled appointment, thus causing a day long backlog and causing the groomers to stay open hours after their scheduled closing time. And they never once cut corners with my dogs grooming. It got to be so bad that they had to start charging a late fee. Maybe reason for some negative reviews? I have gone to other groomers in the area but once I found The Grooming Station I would never even consider going anywhere else. Well ... this place has two strikes and we are strongly inclined not to take our dogs back. One time, our dog came home with a cut on his eye. It's possible it wasn't the groomer and that it happened during rough housing (we have two dogs). It didn't seem to bother him - but it was clearly there. Then again recently, they never called us when our two dogs were done being groomed. We called and they told us the dogs had been done for hours. They needed to go to the bathroom badly! Just a general level of carelessness that's not okay for two loved family members. read more

These are difficult times for everyone and tensions are high. But when you make an appointment, you generally expect an appointment to be kept. In addition to messing up our appointment, which was frustrating, they decided based on my sister reacting with frustration, that they would cancel my mother's dog's appointment, despite absolutely no confirmation or desire to on our part. They however didn't tell us this until arival, which took over 45 min for my sister who had also rescheduled her entire day to accommodate their scheduling mistake. Which was very frustrating. Instead of trying to make it right, they manipulated the situation and truth in order to justify their actions. They bullied us into submission and decided the appropriate thing to do was to punish us. They forcibly cancelled a second time without our consent. When my mom called to discuss it with them, they were verbally unkind to her despite the fact she had said nothing to them during any of this and she was a long term customer. It is purely speculation, but I can't imagine that anyone who treats human beings so vindictively has the heart and compassion to treat dogs. I understand things can be difficult and there were obviously emotions running high for everyone in this situation, but ultimately, this is a review of service, and in all my years of life, I have never received worse service from a place that didn't even end up completing the agreed upon service. read more

Do not take your pet here. I have been using the grooming station for many years will not go back today. My dog did not get the treatment I had scheduled for him in advance. When I called to inquire they were not accommodating on the phone and asked me if I wanted to come and get my dog. Keep your dogs away from this place! My aunt brought her dog there and when she picked it up, its eyes were red. She took her sweet dog to the vet and the vet said it appears the dog had been choked. The blood vessels in it's eyes were broken. Another friend picked her dog up from there and the dog was limping (it wasn't limping when she dropped it off). I have been going here for 2 years. Tonya does an amazing job with my Bichon! He gets compliments every where we go and people always ask where I get him groomed. I always refer people to the Grooming Station and to ask for Tonya. She is such a caring person that goes above and beyond to meet expectations. What an awful experience. It was our fist time there. When we got there a girl came out, my dog is shy and did not approach her. Instead of talking to me about what he is like, she proceeded to pull his leash toward her and then upwards without even saying a word. My puppy started fighting back at which point she said -- "I am not touching him". I could not believe what I was seeing, I foster and rescue dogs and am often in city kennels and shelters. She treated him worse than city kennel. I felt like I walked into a prison and she was a dogie warden. I tried to explain to her that he is a rescue and is very sensitive, she did not care. She spent bout 8-15 seconds with him pulling him so hard I thought his neck would snap. I am disgusted with this establishment and will never refer any one or bring my puppy there. If your dog is a good little soldier and you don't care how nice or not nice they are, you will be ok. People who work with animals should be loving, gentle, or at least respectful, but what I encountered was bordering animal abuse. One star is too much for the treatment we received at the Grooming station today. read more

After four years of wonderful appointments at grooming station we will not return. After a four hour appointment we picked our dog up, and much to our dismay he was half groomed. In some places he was shaved to the skin and in others the fur was still long. He had strange shaved lines up the back of his legs. His nails were sharp and chipped and we almost wonder if they were even cut. After asking them not to shave his rear end, we returned to bare skin. I have now been feeding our dog benedryl ( under vets advice )for four days to avoid him scratching his rear end raw on concrete( as the razor burn is so awful ). Also we found a large cut in one of his armpits. When I questioned them, their response was let us fix the dogs hair. This after they had my dog for four hours. If you value your dog as part of your family do not take them here. No apology for hurting my dog. Management has changed as have some of the groomers and not for the better. read more
