First time here, a friend recommended this place. If your a hot dog lover this place is for you. I had gotten the New Yorker delicious, the only thing I didn't Ike about it was my soggy Bun in places. I do not like any kind of soggy bread. My husband on the other hand said his great balls of fire special was delicious.He loved everything about it. And we will definitely be back , he also said the homemade banana pudding was amazing.. The service was wonderful. The atmosphere was good. , the place was very clean and plenty of parking. They had something for everyone. Vegetarian no problem they had veggie dogs or create your own hot dog. But overall the place is good the food is fresh and delicious! read more

Tried out this new spot on Wade Hampton Blvd and it's such a welcome addition to the area! I love that they have traditional Carolina style hot dogs as well as other more unique options and brats as well. They use all beef hot dogs so they're a good size and filling! We tried the Carolina girl - loved the chili and onions and mustard, truly a Carolina classic. Also loved the family tradition- the slaw on it was great. The ambiance inside was charming; we got it as take out to bring home this time but I look forward to going back in person to get a beer and catch a trivia night! read more

First of all the waitress was really nice and friendly and if I had to rate my experience solely on her I would give it 5 stars. My criticism is that whoever was making my food yelled at my 3 year old son for playing roughly with your giant size sorry board which cost you $19.99. I don't care if you're the owner if you have an issue you come to the table don't yell across the restaurant. Your hospitality has left a sour taste and I would never come back. Fortunately, it won't be difficult because your "groovy dogs" were atrocious. Seemed like your "cult followers" love it and you're friendly towards them. Unfortunately, I just can't get past your overly friendly southern hospitality and over priced dogs. read more

There's also trivia nights & musical bingo. I understand there's plans for corn hole tournaments soon, also. Very laid back, casual atmosphere. Had one of the best hot dawgs I've ever had. Service was great, employees were very friendly. They will soon be starting musical bingo and trivia nights and when the weather is nice, will hold cornhole competitions in the parking lot. I can see this quickly becoming a neighborhood hang out. I eat like a child and I like my hot dogs, corn dogs and other fair foods. When The Groovy Dawg was outside of Swamp Rabbit Brewery in TR one night, I was so ready for a good hot dog for dinner. I got smoke from a distant fire which typically comes on a brat but subbed it for hot dog. So good! Cheese, crunch fried onion, bbq sauce, smoked porter onions. Also got the Walk on the Wild Side Nachos with Doritos, chili, cheese sauce and jalapeños. It's like everything my parents didn't let me eat mixed into one delicious nacho plate. The brats are $5 and hot dogs are $3-$4. Definitely get two to fill you up! read more

My daughter had an art show at her school in Taylors and in the flyer they promoted The Groovy Dawg as an option for food outside the school. So I've been doing my research and when today came I was excited to try this hot dog cart out! What I love most about this, is portions of all the sales are donated to their charity of the month and what was very cool is even their tip jar is donated as well. So we walk up and there's menu of items you can order (not their full menu) but still a great selection! I ordered the Lonely Dawg with Wasabi Horseradish and mustard with onions, my daughter also Lonely Dawg with mustard and Ketchup, then for my son a Lonely Dawg naked. These "Dawgs" are huge and so yummy! Even my little picky eaters ate the whole thing. My daughter asked if we can eat these for supper again this week!? So that is telling you something from an honest kid's review! The owner was very friendly and told my daughter ,"she built her cart all by herself and to never think anything is impossible". I loved so much she said that to her, a great role model! Dawgs are not the only items that are made, Brats are also on the menu along with Nachos! The price is really good for how big these dawgs are and even a combo with chips and drink is just right! Such a cool little hot dog stand. She does school events, parties and other catering requests. Lots of unique and a couple of original dog and brat topping variety. You can build your own as well. The owner is super nice and accommodating for the her patrons picky dog/brat preferences. Totally munchie worthy and she offers discounts to service members and FF/PD/EMS.
