Water pressure is low so the morning shower takes twice as long. Wifi is temperamental and cuts out several times during a three hour session. Ground floor room overlooked parking lot with pet owners whose dogs barked at odd times in the early hours and noise of folks starting their cars and slamming doors is the only annoyance for a business traveller. Had dinner one night out in the outside bar area. Took forever to get service. My colleague had to go inside to order our beers and ask for service. Someone from inside came out promptly to serve us. The crown burger and fries was really good with crispy fat fries. Generous chicken Caesar salad too. Much improved food quality from last time I stayed here.

It's some ancient series of buildings that have grown and evolved over the centuries. The main building is a work of art, and feels historic. The mid-range rooms are perfectly comfortable and perfectly serviceable. You're going to them to sleep, odds are, not to camp out for fun. Room service is great. The dining is the best thing about the place--the eggs benedict are up there with the very best I've ever had. Staying there a week plus a weekend, I ended up having them way too often for breakfast. I'd give them four stars but for the fact that when I was there (March 2011) there were some sporadic and rather annoying issues with their wi-fi service. When it was on, it was fantastic. When it wasn't... well, it was pretty bad. Prices are reasonable for the area for business travelers, and the location is in the literal middle of Chertsey. Not much there, but for what is there, it's all walking distance from the hotel.

The beds were the cheapest beds I have ever had anywhere....and I travel a lot for both business and personal. I could feel and trace the springs with my finger. The sheets were cheap too and made all of us sweaty and we couldn't adjust the temperature. I had to sleep on the couch every night to get any sleep so I could get any sleep. There is no personal touches such as local recommendations. Also, read the fine print before signing. They would not allow us to cancel 1 week after booking without charging 50% and this was 5 months in advance of the stay. They are a strict and impersonal company. We will not be using this company ever again.

It's a 5 minute walk from Paddington Station and The Central Line. You can take the Heathrow Express directly to Paddington station, which is a 15 minute train ride. Considering this was my first solo trip to the UK, the convenience of this was fantastic. Also since it's off the road a bit, there's no noisy road traffic. It's also a short walk to Hyde Park if you're into that and a 10 minute walk to Kensington Palace. It's close to transportation without the noise of transportation! Amenities: I don't know how to describe this place. It's the opposite of modern, but not outdated. Traditional maybe? They ended up placing me in the King Suite, and let me tell you, this made all the difference in the world. So much room, an insanely comfortable 4 post bed. Since the breakfast room is small, you can opt to have your breakfast in your room instead. You just ask for a breakfast card, fill it out, and hang it on the door knob the night before. There's free wi-fi, but you do have to log in every time you use it and the connection can be spotty if you're skyping home. Other basics: minibar fridge, hair dryer, and toiletries. No iron, and nowhere to plug the hair dryer in the bathroom. You're forced to use it over by the desk, where at least there's a mirror. Staff: So great, friendly and accommodating. Things to be aware of. There is room noise. You will probably hear people upstairs flushing a toilet or showering or water gushing through the walls. It's an old building, so be aware of that. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to either pack some earplugs or stay somewhere else. For me, the loveliness of the hotel, location, and staff trump the noise. For a girl who likes to travel alone, this hotel feels like home and I would be happy stay here again.

They helped us with our bags to our room, and informed us of their offerings of afternoon tea and breakfast. The room itself was pretty small, but considering you're in London, that's pretty much the norm. The bathroom was very nice, and everything in the room seemed very fancy. They even had a jar of cookies to welcome us. There was free wifi included in the room rate, which is always a plus. The elevators were significantly on the smaller side, so if you're carrying luggage, you may need to take more than one trip. There was no AC, and the window design only allowed a small portion at the top to open, so airflow was very limited. The window also faced directly onto the parking lot with foot traffic, so we didn't feel comfortable opening the drapes--this made the room feel quite closed-in. There was a fan, but it was dusty and triggered our allergies. The carpet also felt sticky, which made the space feel less clean than we'd hoped. We ended up checking out early despite the stay being non-refundable.

I had stayed here 4 years ago at the Copthorn and this trip I stayed at the Millennium. So, this review is for the Millennium Hotel. One item of note is that I happen to be a True Blue member of the Chelsea Football Club and this did afford me some upgrades because of the membership. However, I did notice that they offer the free breakfast for similar packages. The hotel itself is very nicely appointed with comfortable beds and amenities. The complimentary breakfast was huge. Buffet style, bangers, rashers, potato cakes, beans, tomatos and a varity of pastries and breads. Eggs were to order. They also include cereals and freshly made coffee with each cup. Many types of juices to choose from as well and fresh fruit to grab for a mid morning snack. Best to get in early for the breakfast, since the dining room is not extremely large, but on the day we couldn't be seated they directed us across to the Copthorn where we were provided with the same offerings in the 55 Restaurant complimentary as well. Service was prompt and polite. We saved a bucket by porking out on breakfast to fuel our day for walking around London doing all the things we had planned. Our rooms were turned down each evening and cleaned up nicely for our return. One item of note is that I would definitely bring an alarm clock, since their wake up service is a personal phone call and often it was later then we requested. On the last day, they actually came to our door to knock rather than a phone call, about 10 mins late. We requested internet as it was part of our package we booked. We had no service for one day, and the engineers took most of the day to fix it. Not a huge inconvenience for us, but it could of created havoc for anyone who was on business and was relying on this service to do their job. Everyone we came in contact with at the hotel was very polite and pleasant. Another item of note.. if you happen to stay at the hotel during game day, be prepared. You are not allowed to "hang out" in the lobby to see the players.... that was our plan so that was a bit of a bummer. However if you go across the courtyard to the Copthorn, you will be able to hang and even be able to get an autograph as the players come up from the parking garage. You must be a guest or at least have a friend who is staying since they will not let you in unless you have a key card. At the Copthorn bar I was able to meet and chat with Chopper Harris and Peter "The Cat" Bonetti, two Chelsea Legends who I watch play as a young lad. I will continue to stay here when I travel to London, it's has always been affordable to me and a nice restful place to stay.

There is also entertainment in the park that you can enjoy during nice weather on your balcony (we have always stayed in the Woodland Huts). Ample parking, lots of nice local walking trails to enjoy with the dog and they are constantly maintaining the property which makes it a real pleasure to visit We will probably always stay there when we visit family in Welwyn Garden City - no reason to look anywhere else to be honest!

It's definitely shabby chic with not the best service. This was probably like a Downton abbey place at one point but it's definitely not anymore. The entrance has a hideous car covering so that people don't have to walk in the rain to get into the estate. It's covering a beautiful arch underneath. There are other additions that have marred the architecture and I still want to stay in a true estate in England. The estate is not well known by drivers and many of them had a difficult time finding us. Put the name of the hotel in Uber, not the address. The estate hosts many events on the weekends in the summer. There were two proms and a wedding while we were there. It's not insulated well (it shouldn't be!) so expect to hear music through the evenings on the weekend. The service, especially in the restaurants, was average to poor. I wouldn't stay here if I didn't have to. I'm sure there's better out there.

Even though it says it's the ground floor I did at least 10 turns and went up and down 5 stairs cases. And the room sizes are bit consistent I paid for a large executive room and ended up with a double bed and small size room to then be told I've been charged for breakfast when I never had breakfast. But all is not that bad as I have stayed here a few times and still have not had a chance to check out their health spa but the bar is nice and the toilets are really snazzy! Thought I have stayed in lovely rooms where it is very large and a lovely view of the golf course. The breakfast here is a buffet and my only issue is they do not have vegetarian sausages or big glasses for juices or water. The hotel needs to be updated a bit as there are old TVs and you only have 6 channels and the place needs a good paint/rewallpapering - sorry it just looks a but dated.
