ONLY BECAUSE I HAD TO GIVE A STAR RATING…read more I am new to the area and could not get in with my AZ hair stylist so I booked an appointment here. My hair was down to the middle of my back but in pretty rough shape and my last color was done in October with my AZ stylist so also pretty bad shape. But it is a Redken Salon, they have to go through so much training you would think they would grasp the concept of how to correctly do hair, so she should be able to handle it. I went in for my 2:00PM appointment. My biggest thing was I have a wedding coming up and want the grays covered to last at least four weeks, which was NOT an issue with any other stylist in my entire life. I wanted a platinum blonde and wasn't too worried about the hairstyle as long as I could do a ponytail because hair grows back eventually. What I got was absolutely terrible and I paid over $400, not including the product for another $100 plus, and left the shop after 8:30 PM. It did look okay that night because she worked her magic. BUT....She did not do blonde except at the ends; the roots where she used a dark brown glaze, natural color, which showed the grays the next morning. That was the only thing I stressed to this stylist, no grays. I wanted blonde but she felt the root color would help blend it better between appointments. Plus she used foils; the weight of these foils was extremely heavy! AND she ruined my shirt that I was wearing due to bleach getting on it and I have NEVER had this happen before. It has taken me two weeks to calm down enough to write this review as I HATE everything about my hair! I was planning to fight the credit card charge but instead I will chalk this up to an awful experience. I am so unhappy I barely leave the house and I still have to find someone that can do my hair properly prior to the upcoming wedding. Ugh! I hate being new in town. Please do not go here and waste your money. This glaze, if she even used one, that was placed on my hair was not to help her BUT it was most definitely to waste my money so she could get another $400 plus dollars from me next time and waste another six plus hours of my time and STILL not get it right. Just an FYI, my AZ stylist does not use foils and could get my hair done within 1.5 hours and it lasted six weeks, if I had to go that long but usually four weeks max, where grays just started to show. She also never had to remove more than two inches unless I felt like going shorter but I always had my ponytail. I do not have that here either!

I had the consultation take place over the phone we spoke about my how I had red in my hair and wanted to go honey blonde . I'm a cosmetologist myself , I have the knowledge on coloring hair . She explained how red was the hardest color to remove and get rid of . I totally understood the process . And we were on the same page . What I went in thinking was going to be a phenomenal experience became a horrific emotionally draining experience on my behalf . When I arrived at the salon she sat me down and we went over what we did over the consultation . The balayage . She asked me if I wanted a haircut while holding my hair in her hands and made a scrunch face ? I said yes a trim however not too much and she asked me if I wanted layers ? I said no . However when I was in Alicia Espinoza Spencers chair she asked me you have kids ? Basically trying to make small talk . Before she had asked me this question she heard me talking on the phone with my mother in regards to picking up my son because I was at my hair appointment. I answered yes I have a baby , he's almost 3 . She said "Oh that's not a baby , that's a toddler." In a Very rude and passive tone . I was literally baffled , on the comment she made . At that point I was Uncomfortable & I continued to sit in her chair quiet while she was cutting my hair and didn't say anything . She then proceeded to ask me " it's been years since you've had a haircut , professionally died , yes ? " In a very condescending tone. I answered yes . Mind you when we had the consultation she had asked me when was the last time I actually went to a salon and I told her I'd been doing my hair for quite some time now . She proceeded to cut my hair more than what I originally wanted . And also left my hair unevenly cut . She proceeded with the balayage , she bleached my hair like normal and when the timer was done processing she washed me out and noticed the half shaft of my hair was still very pink and the bottom was honey so I would've got a copper balayage instead of a honey color. I knew that , I would not be satisfied with the ending results after she showed me some pictures of what the copper balayage would turn out to be. So I said I'd be a lot happier if you deposited a plum color over the already bleached pieces and top shaft of my hair . She said it would definitely be an option but I would have to pay an additional 100$ to get the plum color I wanted . She mentioned she does not do red on clients unless they plan on keeping it for 5 plus years because it is a very hard color to come back from. At that point I was annoyed because I know that this is my hair I'm talking about mind you I came in the salon w bright burgundy hair . I said that's fine money isn't an issue she ended up charging me the 355$ . However this lady LIED about depositing an all over color on my hair she used semi permanent hair color . When I washed my hair out on the 3rd day the color completely vanished and I had blonde ends . I PAID ADDITIONAL TO GET THE COLOR I wanted . I know the process and protocol when it came down to color . I was very upset with my experience I immediately called Alicia Espinoza to try to get my refund or a resolution. No answer back . I decided to call off work the next day on 02/29/24 I went personally the next day to speak to the owner . She said she would refund me half of my money . ALICIA ESPINOZA only sent me 100$ back . From a 355$ payment she only sent me 100$ back and when I contacted the owners of the salon Mari and her husband said they wouldn't do anything about it even though Mari the owner of the salon told me I would receive half of my money . Not only did they sit here and let this woman insult a client she did not do the service I paid money for . if you guys want to get ripped off by ALICIA ESPINOZA SPENCER and the owner Mari come here. Insults are freee !

It's located in the city limits of Glenpool at 159 W 146th St. They offer hair styling services for women and men - cuts, color, perms, blow out, hair treatments, and special occasion styling! The service cost is moderate and ala carte based on service(s) provided. My stylist, Cat, is amazing and always does a fantastic job! Since my hair is long and thick, I needed an expert to maintain good hair condition, color, and cut. Cat is super sweet, always takes the time (with each visit) to ask what I'd like to do, a color expert, and doesn't overbook her clients! In turn, my appt.'s are always on time and I'm not sitting under a dryer processing while she finishes with another client. The salon does take walk ins, depending on availability, but appt's are recommended. If you're looking for a new stylist, give these ladies a call!
