You guys, my hair is SO thick and I'm typically at the salon for a significant amount of time and the chairs have always been AWFUL to be stuck in for a long time...not these babies! I never want to leave! Let's continue onto the actual skill of every stylist there - second to NONE. Here's the thing, they don't WANT to see you every 4 weeks. They know how expensive getting your hair done is, so they want to make sure that you're getting what you want, but they also want to make sure you are able to maintain that style so you don't have to come in as often. WHO DOES THAT?! Jenna also makes sure that her stylists all have the most up-to-date training to keep up with all of the newest trends, and it shows! No corners are cut here. I've been seeing Jenna L for about a year and a half now, every 2-3 months, and every single time she does an amazing job. From long hair, to a short blunt cut, she rocks it. And, she really does provide maintenance free blonde hair. My roots are probably more of a dirty dishwater color, and I have her do a blonder/brighter full foil and it always grows out beautifully (no harsh lines!). The salon itself is also very relaxing. I love the selection of drinks (from an assortment of teas, to coffee, to wine (!!)), and every time I've been there, the soft music in the background adds an extra touch of awesome. The magic of the Hair Tailor is their obsession with the experience. Jenna, the owner, hires creative, fun and engaging individuals who take their time make it personal. The moment I arrive, reception takes my coat and offers me a variety of beverage options. The cut always starts with a warm hair wash, scalp massage and a hot cloth to the face. The cut itself is always "tailored"...I never feel like I'm part of an assembly line haircut; she takes her time and then is well-pleased when she's achieved perfection! I appreciate the welcoming, professional atmosphere of The Hair Taylor. I've worked with Carlee, and she takes great care in understanding my needs and (lack of) ability to style hair. But, all the stylists appear to be very responsive to client requests. Drinks are offered when you arrive, and candy is set out for you to enjoy. It's a three flight hike to the salon, (no elevator), so that might be a consideration. It's good exercise, though! read more

I have curly hair, and I've never been comfortable getting it cut. More often than not, stylists insist on straightening my hair before cutting it, which leads to bad cuts because I never wear it that way. Carly at Hair Tailor not only has curly hair, but makes sure that I'm okay and is able to cut it curly. I don't have to worry about it being too short and spending months waiting for the slow process of curly hair growth. Love this place! read more
