Lunch was at Pareidolia Brewery (5 Stars there for great beer and delicious appetizers- that'll be another review). When we got to the strip mall where Beall's is, I noticed a barbershop. My hair (still a fine mop for a guy in his mid-60's) is getting a little long and has been bothering me, so I decided to take a chance on an unknown barbershop and get my hair cut. It's a fine looking place with a barber's pole, nice comfy chairs for waiting, great old photos on the wall and a bunch of model classic cars. Really a slice of Americana. There are 4 chairs and 2 barbers were working on this particular Friday afternoon. 2 patrons were getting their haircuts and another gentleman was waiting before me. I didn't have a reservation, but no problem as walk ins are welcome. The sign also says that they cut women's hair as well. The 2 barbers/hairdressers were Tina and Molly. Both couldn't have been any nicer. Molly is young, has a great short (kinda punk?) haircut and some really nice arm tattoos. She's got a really great look. During the ensuing conversation, I learned that Molly has been to barber school and she looks like she knows her stuff. My hair was cut by Tina, who I believe is the shop's owner. Tina is an experienced hairdresser and barber and she told me that she had her own hair salon in New York for 31 years. Tina has a ton of technical knowledge and she carefully planned out my haircut. I'm used to the 8 minute bs haircuts at Supercuts - get 'em in and out. This was a much different experience. Tina patiently worked on my hair as Molly watched her technique. Oh, I forgot the music. Great tunes were playing and I was caught singing along. No one seemed to be bothered by my sing along. The haircut came out great and cost $25, which I thought was very fair. I have found my Florida barbershop and won't hesitate to return.

It was today but there was wait time as there were only two barbers working today. I got my hair cut done by Dean, and the wait was worth it! Dean is a master of his craft and during my cut he recommended certain lengths and styles all which I took to heart and trusted him. My favorite part of the service was the hot towel over my face. It was so good and comfortable that I wanted to fall asleep on the chair. This was my second time coming here and my hair was done by two different barbers, and both were amazing! I will definitely be coming back here.

The place has a hometown barbershop feel, and the salon portion of it is behind the barbershop. Dean always is cracking hilarious jokes, and Lisa is there to listen. They sell candy in little machines in the front, and play catchy tunes on the radio. There'z plenty of seating, hair is swept up right after your hair is cut. They have a mini air blower that knocks the stray hairs off of your back and shoulders, which I love. Along with a regular haircut, you can get a straight razor shave, as well as a nose-, beard-, eyebrow-, and ear-trim. It's wonderful!
