During our conversation, Evanka said to me, "If you lease a car, you can't just stop leasing it." I responded that he wishes to keep the lease -- I am simply asking to be removed. There is no reason for me to remain on it, other than their insistence that I endure an abusive situation. I had already pleaded with them to release me from the unexecuted lease, as ownership has not even signed it. Despite this, they continue to refuse. Their behavior has been unethical and deeply troubling, showing more concern for enforcing paperwork than for my safety and well-being. To be clear, my ex-partner earns over $100,000 annually and fully qualifies for the apartment financially on his own. We have been trapped in this toxic situation for over a month, and I still have not received a fully executed lease.

Their response and efficiency in solving issues is wonderful. They are always respectful and accommodating . Also the grounds are kept beautifully and well maintained too. One very negative issue here, I have to say is the issue of inconsiderate smokers who sit on their porches or decks and smoke constantly which pollutes their neighbor's apartments. There should be a stipulation to have smokers step 50 ft away from their building while engaging in smoking or better yet make this a "smoke free" community That would be a definite healthier solution. If it weren't for the cigarette pollution I would give Southwood 5 stars for sure.

BUYER BEWARE! This…read moreproperty may look beautiful and seem too good to be true, because it is! I purchased all cash in October 2021 and have been having non-stop issues with the board ever since. This review is being posted in December of 2022, so come next election things could change. However, the current board is made up of two residents who have been running the property for about 6 years now in addition to two new people. The "senior" board members are using their positions to forward their own interests and do not care about the other shareholders. They bully and intimidate anyone who goes against their "status quo". I have been slandered to the community and ostracized for speaking out against the bad mortgage they just took out. I have also been cursed out more than once by a board member who repeatedly breaks the house rules as they feel they are above them. The board will actually go so far as to pass new rules without any input from shareholders when they see something they do not like. For example, the current president has an issue with retractable dog leashes, so he banned them. This place is in debt and the board has no plans to raise revenue or make any improvements that will raise this property value. The board have also been caught lying to shareholders. For example, the president told everyone in an open shareholder meeting on 9/13/1022 that the Town of Babylon denied our request for a private dog park. According to the town no plans were ever submitted, but if they were it would have been approved as other communities have done the same in Babylon township. I have this in writing. Save yourself the headache!

They use old used parts from other apartments left over, rusty n.g and will install then under your sink or toilet to try and fix the problem. They are definately backwards by our standards. They are Macedonians . Horrible. Goat eaters. Nasty as well. People I spoke to had mice comming through open vents and coming through walls from openings in the back of cabinetry and ovens and they dont consider that an emergency. U will wait a month until their maintenance exterminater comes by , if he does?? There is no confirmation what so ever on a matter like this. They say its a non emergency. For a 55 and up complex. Backward to say the least. They are probabley used to living in this type od sh-t. They could be nasty with their approach, they should be very careful they dont loose teeth. They are nasty. We have lived here for 5 months and i cannot wait for the lease to end…read more Since day 1 this place has been a disaster. Move in day - we had no power or water. They were doing construction right outside our door so it made it extremely difficult to move in. There was garbage everywhere and constant banging and drilling from 7am until 5pm. Horrible start. As for the interior, other than no power or water, our "newly renovated" apartment came with a broken shower door, light fixture hanging out from the ceiling - and still is. There is also visible wires hanging out of the ceiling. Told maintenance, responded with "yeah". Place is constantly infested with bugs. Spiders, ear wigs, crickets, fly's. The place smells like cigarettes (we don't even smoke). Electronic lock broke about a month into living there - maintenance cut it off my door at 11pm at night - left me with a hole in my door with NO lock over night.. As for parking..... assigned spot is all the way by Unit 4, while i am in unit 7. Had my car towed (twice) because i parked in the "fire zone" , even though, maintenance told us it was ok to do (which i soon found out is not even a REAL nor LEGAL fire zone anyway) and they had my car towed so that a CONTRACTOR could park where i was. I then had to get a ride to RONKONKOMA to pick up my car. A week later, NU Horizon had the nerve to have a contractor park in my assigned spot this time, leaving me with nowhere to go. The place is completely ridiculous. Also, the towing signs are no where to be found unless you check behind a bush or a dumpster. The signs also have not been updated so the prices are inaccurate and the descriptions are as well. The "Club house" which contains the few (if any)amenities of the complex, has not been opened since before i moved in, which includes a gym... which i was looking foward to using - is "closed until further notice" - for no reason. Anytime I inquire about the gym re opening, I am ignored. This place is horrendous and i would never of moved in if i knew all of this before. Do not recommend living here. The only good thing about this place is their leniency with pets.
