I stayed here for almost two years, overall had a great experience staying here. If I could have stayed in the area I would have definitely continue to rent with them. Even though their prices are higher than the average when comparing sq footage, you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck. For me I stayed in the smaller 600sq ft Studio apartment and even that I had about 3 full size sliding closets way more than what I needed. They've updated their kitchen cabinets and while the appliances are older they work quite well. Although I definitely could see people paying extra if they could get newer appliances and AC. The apartment is very dog friendly and has plenty of walking paths for dog owners. I have not met one tenant while here that was rude or unreasonably loud. While I lived on the second floor I never heard any excessive noise from the neighbors. Parking could mean a bit of walk if you arrive at later hours and depending on your unit. For me the worst it got would be about 5 min walk when the lot closest to me gets full at night. The laundry room I believe they have been extending the hours till later since this year. Especially the main laundry room where the machines are newer would usually stay open until 10pm. The other smaller laundry rooms are bit more inconvenient as they tend to close earlier and open later in the morning. The few times I've called for maintenance I've been very impressed with their response time. When I first moved in the heater control stopped working after a month or so and they were able to address the issue during same day. A week before I was moving out the fridge stopped working and that was also fixed on the same time that I called to let them know. Very positive experience with the management and super here. They do a very good job of maintaining the premise and property. There's no security deposit if you have above 700 credit score which is basically unheard of for apartment complexes out here. And they don't try to nickel and dime you as well when you leave unlike other horror stories I've heard from other properties. I had some holes leftover from hanging up small furniture and frames and they never charged for it when I moved out The location only few minutes from SSP and if you lived at the unit facing August Road like I did you'll definitely hear traffic noises but the double windows in the apartment do a really good job of insulating the outside noise. I have flooding of fecal matter in my apartment and I didn't get contacted until a day later and 2nd complaint, then I received a mopping of the fecal matter but left in the corners, the bathroom still stinks and floods and I'm staying in a hotel because my apartment is a hazard to my kids, animal and myself. read more

I reside at The Tudors in North Babylon. When I called the office and spoke with Evanka and the Leasing Director, I was advised that the only way they would allow me to be released from the lease was if I provided a police report, due to a domestic violence incident. During our conversation, Evanka said to me, "If you lease a car, you can't just stop leasing it." I responded that he wishes to keep the lease -- I am simply asking to be removed. There is no reason for me to remain on it, other than their insistence that I endure an abusive situation. I had already pleaded with them to release me from the unexecuted lease, as ownership has not even signed it. Despite this, they continue to refuse. Their behavior has been unethical and deeply troubling, showing more concern for enforcing paperwork than for my safety and well-being. To be clear, my ex-partner earns over $100,000 annually and fully qualifies for the apartment financially on his own. We have been trapped in this toxic situation for over a month, and I still have not received a fully executed lease. read more

Two stars for the apartments and property. ZERO stars for Fairfield as property managers. I've been here for 10 years, so obviously I have been happy here. The previous owner - Somerset - was superb. Responsive as heck, just wonderful customer service. Enter Fairfield in 2021. You CANNOT get in touch with them - not in the app, not via email, not by visiting the office and no one answers ANY of the phone #s that are published. ***ALL THE GOOD REVIEWS ARE FROM PRIOR TO 2021 when Fairfield took over.*** EDIT: hahaha, I just said that contacting you is practically impossible, but thanks for that thoughtful regurgitated from 2023 response. read more

BEWARE BEFORE YOU MOVE HERE The management uses cheap, highly toxic paint to prepare for a new tenant's move and there are major gas leaks in the buildings that line the perimeter of the complex due to outdated (and dangerous) gas lamps. If you have children, allergies or any sensitivity, this place is 100% NOT for you. Also, if you need maintenance and you don't want the crew coming in when you're not home, they'll disregard your request and come in anyway. The ac units are cheap and do not cool the apartment in the summer sufficiently - it gets hot! Also, the laundry machines are archaic (they look like they've been there from the 1980s) - they still use quarters! For the escalated rental price, this place is run like a slum. 3/25/17 just recently moved in and absolutely love the community. Just to begin, Loraine at the rental office is an absolute doll and has a great sense of humor. She's so warming and overall a sincere person. I felt welcomed soon I walked onto the grounds. The neighbors are very respectful and friendly. The price is worth it and you feel at home. Highly recommended! 5/30/19 As today is my last day, I am excited to go into my new home but I absolutely loved this place. Very helpful and genuine people. I lived here for four years and the TL;DR version is that I would recommend this. A more thorough breakdown: When I first moved in (circa 2009) I had a bit of a recurring ant infestation in my apartment. Gross previous tenants or a general complex problem? I'm not sure, but compulsive vacuuming, pet-friendly bug sprays and traps and obsessive cleaning seemed to take care of the problem and it never happened again. My whole time living there I only ever had to call maintenance once...My toilet started leaking and wouldn't stop (about 3 years in) they showed up at my door about 5 minutes after I called, identified the problem but didn't have the part...Ran out, another 10 minutes later back - problem fixed and the guy was super friendly and polite the whole time, and made friends with my cat which means he must be okay. (*TLDR - maintenance team is great but thankfully largely unnecessary) Having a cat...I chose to have a downstairs apartment (an upstairs and downstairs were available when I first toured the property), knowing that animals run around at night, etc. Not everyone is so courteous, or perhaps a downstairs isn't always available...At any rate, I at one point had an upstairs neighbor with a dog who she would not crate at night and it ran around like crazy all night...And was very obvious and loud (It was a small dog, but it managed to sound like a herd of buffalo) all night long. The same neighbor smoked, the smell of which inevitably ended up in my apartment (shared vents) and, after she quit...she later blamed me for the smell through a hilarious but annoyingly passive aggressive note slid through my door. (*TLDR - thin floors and shared vents = hope you have a compatible upstairs neighbor. Spoke with management about noise, they called her but it didn't change much. Re: smoke smell they offered to come close my vents.) Parking situation is iffy. There are no assigned spots, and there is a visitor specific lot but it doesn't seem like everyone who should park there does. If you get home past a certain hour you're going to walk at least a little bit, but nothing too bad. There are several lot options around the complex. Night security: Seems like their presence alone is supposed to be the deterrent since they don't seem to be all that effective would a problem actually arise. Never had any major problems here though. Area always felt safe. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL. Lots of little bench/picnic/sitting areas around. Great for enjoying nice days.... Laundry rooms...The hours here were super inconvenient for my schedule (7AM to 7PM I believe) as I usually left much earlier than they opened and came home after. Wish they had better hours, or were just 24/7. Usually if you were in there though and running late they'd leave it open for you and come back when you were done. BUT a lot of the machines had recurring not working issues and you might end up rerunning a load if the dryer didn't work....Machines could go awhile before getting fixed at times, other times they seemed very on top of it. I think the poor hours affected other people too, as the laundry room tended to get really busy on weekends... Great location - Right across from Belmont Lake State Park, I used to walk across the street and go jogging through the trails, or bring my bike. Great picnic areas over there too, or playgrounds for when my brother brought my niece to visit. Lots of nearby shopping areas, diners, near Babylon Village, Deer Park Tanger Outlets and easy highway access. Some people in the office were more helpful than others...Lorraine in the office always knew my name and seemed on top of things. Another woman was always friendly and helpful but seemed less on top of things at times, but again, helpful and friendly. Some passing less than friendly neighbors, but most people are really nice and will nod and say hello when you pass. People were good about picking up after their pets and the grounds were clean.... Occasional flood problems in the parking lot during severe storms...park on high ground during hurricanes lol. So a few quirks, but what place doesn't...A bit pricier than other complexes, but a for a mostly friendly crowd, safe complex, helpful staff....Worth the extra, I think. Plus the apartments are roomy...I spent my 4 years in one of their studios and it served. Sooooooooo much closet space (I got rid of a ton of stuff when I moved into a one bedroom...where did all that stuff come from?? maybe TOO much closet space haha) read more

Somerset village is a quiet, well maintained complex with charming buildings and great landscaping. But, the biggest asset this place has are the ladies in the front office. Lorraine and Amanda are the bees knees! Lorraine is the heart and soul of the leasing office, and Amanda is the wizard behind the curtain. I always felt welcome, and all questions or concerns were answered in a timely, professional manner. My only complaint is they don't have a system in place to pay the rent online. However, dropping off the rent in person is just another opportunity to visit with Lorraine! I highly recommend checking this place out if you're interested in moving to or relocating in North Babylon. read more
