My guess is they've got the claws gripping a bit tighter right now since they're new and trying to build up traffic, but either way, it was a great time. We (unfortunately) went on a day when a HUGE daycare or playgroup was also visiting, so about 15 mins after arriving, this swarm of over 50 adults and kids came in and it just got insane. I overheard another mom say that she's never seen so many people in there, so it reassured me that it's not always like this. This place isn't super fancy, and I did wonder about their sanitation procedures because I didn't see any buckets or bins for toys to go in if a kid had put it in their mouth. My LO being under a year, and my nephew being 18 months, you know everything goes in the mouth. They had a little "plop zone" which is the sacred safe space for babies under 2 to not get trampled. My daughter liked it, and liked chewing every toy, which takes me back to the germs... Butbi tried to let it go. The one thing I truly disliked about this place is that you have to pay to get in, even as an adult. $8 for me to supervise my own kid? Okay... Luckily my daughter was free because she was under 1, but I thought it was kind of ridiculous that adults have to pay for their child and themselves. It would make me think twice about coming here regularly once she's over 12 months because I don't think $16 is worth it. As of right now, all she can do is sit in the little baby plop zone. So if you really need something to do on a rainy day, definitely come here. It's safe and the kids for sure have fun. There are mostly good vendors above all else, but it's also the best blooming onion (and I look forward to it every year!) We park for free and walk a bit of a distance. I love seeing the homes decorated for Halloween! We don't ride fair rides, but we do live to people watch and, this year, we caught the pet parade which was really great! So much bigger than I ever expected and some very sweet pets in adorable costumes!! Love trying the different treats. Though it's not homemade, I got a pumpkin roll from the Shriners booth and it was pretty tasty and for a good cause. Also purchased some homemade buckeyes from a church group that were awesome. Always love seeing the giant pumpkins, too! I do wish they had more local vendors for buying gifts. The vendors are mainly cheap mass produced junk shop goods (and a lot of gross political things.) Just not my vibe at all. I still think it's worth a visit though! It's well run and a great way to get into the spooky season!

This is the dozenth time that I have been to this cute little church festival. Unfortunately - I…read morewill have to say that I was disappointed with this year's experience even more so than the last few; it has been going downhill the last couple of years. You have to buy all your food tickets upfront before you can even see what the food looks like and therein lies the hitch. At the other church festivals I have been to - you get to shop with your eyes and then you pay based on what you have chosen but this festival has you scan a QR code to read the menu in your phone or, if you do not have smart phone, there is a menu taped to the table that you can read by being in every one else's way which is super rude and annoying. So you hurry and guess and buy your tickets ahead of time and you have no idea what the food looks like and that was very disappointing. The portions were small, the meat was overcooked and people in general just did not look like they were having a lot of fun serving, watif ir even being there when I visited in the afternoon on Saturday. When visiting in previous years they let you see what the food looked like and then you could get tickets or you could pay after you had chosen in line. The reorganization this year was just really not working for me. I prefer to see what I'm ordering and indeed I end up often ordering much more than I intend because of the quality of how everything looks, the amazing smells and/ or the friendliness of the hosts. Sadly, this was not the case for this church festival this year. Making me pay ahead of time, keeping all the food covered and not letting anyone see it until you had already ordered it and having the food served look little like the representative photos makes me feel like you're hiding poor quality. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this festival after more than a dozen years of really enjoying this place. There are much better ones out there that deserve my time and attention and financial support. I wish them the best and hope that my experience was just random bad luck.

It is a small festival, but there is a ton of good food, and music, a few vendors, etc. Very well organized, and everyone was friendly, from parking to the food counters. It's a ticket system, so buy some tickets near the entrance (they have a list of "prices," and $20/20 tickets was enough for two adults with soft drinks.) Everything is behind the church, and there are plenty of tables under a big tent, restrooms, etc. We tried "Serbian salata," pretty much the tomato/cuke/onion salad we often make. Also a cabbage roll- perfectly cooked and seasoned, with ground meat inside and a few chunks of spicy Serbian sausage on top. The cevapi were also amazing- ground meat inside hearty soft flatbread. I could eat several more of those. We finished with dessert- very good baklava, a slice of nut roll, and a jam-filled roll that was, I think, citrus and plum. All in all great food, friendly people, a nice setup, and reasonable prices. We will be back, on a cooler day with an older kid. It's the last Saturday in July every year.

Paintings all over the walls. Macedonian music playing outside. As you enter through the building. There is two rows of food - both sides of the line offer the same goods. Tons of pork and beef dishes, kabobs, sausages. Dessert are the later half of the line. Cream puffs, pastries, baklava, fruit-and-nut concoctions. I'm planning to systematically nibble through all these treats. I'm extra excited for a bite of the stuffed pepper and giant sausage (for the love, I can't remember the name of them - but they look very plump and juicy)!!
