Owner was rude and made me cry I will not be back. I was really disappointed in my experience which sucks because I was having a really great time until he embarrassed me in front of a large group of people making comments about making sure I didn't take too much food so everyone could eat some before I even had food on my plate. read more

First time here under new ownership. Was very pleasantly surprised and impressed with the menu and food presentation. My daughter brought me here for an early Mother's Day dinner. I had heard that it was wonderful, but hadn't had the opportunity to get there. Was so excited when she suggested the Hawk. We had a couple appetizers to start out with, Queso dip with cactus, and large wontons, both were delicious. One of us ordered the Kitchen sink pizza, another shrimp/sausage pasta and I had the Turkey burger. All were delicious. Turkey burgers can be bland, but this was far from it. I also took the cucumber salad with pork belly to go, for dinner later at work. That was also delicious. I will be back, the service was wonderful and the chef/owner came and asked us how things were. He also gave me a menu that I could share with our hotel guests that are looking for a great place to eat. The atmosphere is also very nice. You will not be disappointed. The menu isn't real big, and it definitely seems to be more centered around the drinking establishment, but the pizza is good enough. Supposedly started during prohibition, this place has been recently renovated. The inside is nice, although it doesn't seem quite finished yet. As for food, the pita Queso dip was a unique appetizer and fairly good in itself. The pizzas were good enough, but definitely not great. Our gringo was actually a little on the burnt side unfortunately, or maybe it would have had the chance to be better. read more

The Nite Hawk, now The Hawk Tasty Tavern is OPEN! Service is great and the burgers (good choices) are excellent. Haven't had the pizza, but the guy sitting down the bar from me said his, the Diamond Head, is excellent and loaded. Looks good. Prices are reasonable and hope this business does well, as it's tough finding good places on the road most times... I've had the Amigo burger (chorizo mix) and the Vito burger (Italian sausage mix) and they were both excellent. Going to try the pizza next trip here. Try this place! read more

Expensive, average, pretty much a nothing burger bar food, beer slinging average. Pizza, was ready made crust with retail bought toppings. Yea, Italy is a long ways from here people, actually civilization is a long ways from here. Its a matter of time, before this hawk meets its end just like all its predecessors, on the front end a logging truck headed to the falls. read more

This place closed and then re-opened fall of 2018. The new owner is really trying. The place has been remodeled and they still have the old stuff--good burgers and pizzas, but they have some creative specials too. I just had the Amigo burger (basically a southwestern burger) that was on special. It was amazing, and I'm a tough customer. They also have some creative pizzas and some other appetizers that I've seen others order that I want to try. Like I said, I'm a tough customer, but I would also say this place probably has the best food in the greater Lake of the Woods area. Definitely a fan. read more
