Feb 2026 update: they are vacant apartments all around the complex that are left trash. We haven't had hot water for a full day going on a month now. I've had to make code compliance calls to the city who have come out and even confirmed that the office is just pushing things out and not taking care of things and asking for more time, but then not fixing it. And when asked about any kind of compensation for the lack of ability to take showers or wash dishes in my own apartment for damn near a month, I'm told that corporate has not allowed that yet when I ask, who asked corporate about that I'm told that they can't give that information or that I need to speak with the manager so do not ever rent here and personally any apartment complex that is owned by the Tipton group or purchased by the Tipton group. I would not hold your breath they're actually gonna fix anything or take care of anything they're just going to make it harder for you to live there. read more

Warning: Avoid Helix Apartments at All Costs! I've never been more disgusted and disappointed with a living situation in my life. The Helix Apartments on Wurzbach in San Antonio are an absolute nightmare. The administration here is completely incompetent, unprofessional, and downright negligent. The staff is illiterate, has no clue about their own deals, and can't even provide accurate rent information. I had to deal with multiple associates giving completely different and contradictory information about my lease, and the chaos didn't end there. My move-in was scheduled for 4 PM on March 28th, but I wasn't able to move in until 6 PM, and that was just the beginning of the horror show. The apartment I moved into was FILTHY. It looked like no one had bothered to clean it after the previous tenants left. I signed my lease two weeks before moving in, yet the place was still being hastily painted over, and the results were awful -- walls that were still yellow, and everything looked rushed and unfinished. I paid extra for the "upgraded" unit, but what I got was far from it. Broken wooden floors, dented refrigerator, stained walls, trash on the balcony, and broken shelves -- this was supposed to be the "better" unit? The safety concerns here are outrageous. The complex is poorly lit, and the fences are falling apart. Anyone could just walk in, and I've witnessed strange, unsettling behavior from other tenants who seem to think it's okay to stare into my apartment from their balcony. I don't feel safe here at all, and I'm terrified about the potential dangers living in this place. I also had to deal with the utter chaos of being charged a prorated amount for my apartment only to not be able to move in for seven hours later. I'm now considering legal action because this is nothing short of negligent conduct from a landlord who clearly doesn't care about its tenants or their safety. I regret not doing more research, but unfortunately, I had no other options due to time constraints. Trust me, no price is worth the headache, stress, and disgust you will experience here. Do yourself a favor -- stay far, far away from this place! read more

MIA ELDRIDGE - PROPERTY MANAGER (PROPERTY JOKE!) THE HELIX APTS: She has poor skills in communication & lack of empathy. There is a leak in my restroom ceiling that I initially called ER Maintenance on Sunday (11-16-25) with no response via call or in person and on Monday made the office aware and they did not know anything about it. Her solution was to allow me to shower & use the restroom in an empty apt! It was emailed that on Tuesday all would be fixed, and the office would reach out to me & coordinate a cleanup - that NEVER happened. Today (11-20-25) a contractor came to the apt in the AM & verbally told me that this is not a safe or healthy living environment & he suggested to move out. And she (Mia) had the nerve to blame me for the upstairs leak. I don't understand how tenets are treated this poorly & disrespectfully when there have been no issues the past couple years from me. I take care of my rent & let the office know of any concerns & issues and they get ignored. Today also got a call & apology from Regional Manager & I appreciate our conversation. This apartment complex is horrible. The management and owner DJE Management make it so much worse. I've had a leak and now concerns of mold for months. My AC is down and they couldn't care less. I've had mice, roach infiltrations, and never ending issues. The gates never work, I've had homeless people scream at me. Water gets shut off frequently. A/C goes down 1-2 times a year. Cops are here every other day, there have been shootings and the grass doesn't get cut. This apartment is a ticking time bomb, of course management and owner doesn't care as long as they save money. I recommend spending your money elsewhere if you're renting or planing on buying this complex as an investment this place is just too far gone. read more

Front office is extremely rude. I was hoping with the new management, they'd be better but it's a major downgrade from who was in there helping a few months ago. Mia (?) never lets my mom finish her sentences, she's constantly talking over us and has this snappy annoying tone. She definitely needs to be replaced. Bring back nice office staff. read more

if i could leave ZERO stars, I would!! Sick disgusting place to live!! Roaches, Rats, and MOLD growing INSIDE the apartment! For over $1.300 in rent is INSANE for this place! We complained about all these things 12/2022 and out in work orders 01/2022 and never came to fix it but marked as canceled w/o fixing anything !!! The front office is just as horrible! Lies and makes up excuses and never follows through with ANY of the agreements they make. They are lazy and incompetent. Aimee the manager leaves 5 star reviews for this place, she is just as stupid and ridiculous as this whole complex. They like to place blame on residents instead of just trying to find a solution to the issues. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE!! Will continue to tell people the truth about this sick place. read more

Worst apartment complex I've ever lived at. I've posted a google review and they told me to reach out to them, I did. I told them I think it's unfair im being charged all these "move out fees" and "replacements" when the condition was crap at move in and when I put it reports to get them fixed, they never did. even got cut and bled from the rusty jagged stair railing they left me with. Seems they got new management after i moved out. Aimee Pineda the Project Manager told me to email her proof of photos of the condition of the apartment. She told me she'd get back to me to let me know what they can do. That was Jan 4th. No replies and they don't answer the office phone. Had to clean the apartment myself at move in because they never came. I have plenty more photos. read more

They have roaches and pest control doesn't do a proper job, don't fix things properly after several maintenance tickets for leaks and AC not working properly and I'm sure there is black mold! One day they will be sued for not keeping their part of the lease! read more

My best advice is to not move in here and just keep looking for another apartment. We moved into these in May of this year and all the way up to July 6th we had very serious issues with the A/C. Our A/C would heat up to 90 degrees and we are not the only building that this happens in. This also happens in their town homes as well. July 6th is when they finally replaced our unit, but then 2 weeks later it leaked freon twice in the same week since "it wasn't installed properly". Now today, July 28th, they had to shut the water off in order for a huge plumbing repair, which is fine, I appreciate the announcement. So they shut it off at 9am, said it would only be off for 3-4 hours... they didn't turn it back on until 5:15pm. And still, at 10pm, the water pressure is not back up, we can't even rinse off a lightly used dish in the sink or wash our hands. This is also happening in other buildings as well, neither maintenance or management has even addressed this and no support or updates are being provided. Overall, only 2 and a half months of living here has been subpar at best. Please see the attached photos for proof of how hot it has gotten inside during our first month of being here plus the 2 weeks after the brand new A/C failed. Twice. Oh and the people in the front office are very rude and unhelpful, our door was jammed one day and neither me or my boyfriend could get it open. Luckily a maintenance showed up and helped us, he replaced our locks, so during the week I let the office know since now they would need another copy of our new key. I gave them one of our keys 2 weeks ago, to make a copy of it, and they still haven't made another copy and haven't given us any updates. I should have just made a copy myself and gave it to them, it would have taken less than 30 minutes to do so. Roaches are also a huge problem here, no matter how squeaky clean you get your apartment, you'll probably see at least 4-5 roaches the next morning/night after cleaning. read more

Trash apartments. the paint is dirty yellow and you can't get maintenance to fix anything at all. The head maintenance person takes pictures of my bedroom when she didn't know I was behind her. the property manager tried to fight my sister because she was sleeping with her boyfriend. its comical how low class this place is. 10/10 do not recommend. read more

Packages are stolen from front doors and mail box areas. I'd imagine there is potential water damage through the whole complex, since they shut the water off every week to "fix" it. Overall bad experience with quality/value. Spend your money elsewhere. Spicecreek and Riverstone were both relatively good apartments in the area that I previously lived at that are significantly better in terms of value. The helix choosr good new fixtures, but it has been problematic. read more

All I can say is that you can find somewhere way nicer with better management, and better pricing. This complex is nice and has so much potential but the management here is atrocious. I was fucked over here. They originally showed me a semi renovated apartment for 750. Told me that the carpet was being replaced so they pushed my move-in date and then told me they had to love me a different unit but it was the same. I didn't have a lot of time to look around for other apartments so when I did my quick tour, I took pictures and signed my lease. When I started to move my things, and I started to realize the difference from the apartment that they showed me to the one they moved me into totally different square unit. Totally different appliances. The carpet had not been replaced. In fact they were stains burn marks. The walls of the apartment were not clean. There were fingerprints, dark spots. The light switches were dirty. The AC unit was dirty. Literally as if somebody had just moved out but like I said, I didn't have time to look at details. I was so desperate for an apartment at the time fast forward to now I've had so many maintenance issues that they have not attended to, and have lacked to have empathy for the situation that they put me in. These are the worst apartments you can ever live at, DO NOT MOVE HERE, warning y'all right now, nothing is right here , when I first moved in multiple occasions they had no hot water during the cold for a whole week, and multiple times this has happen, also no running water for days at a time, different occasions, my window to my car got busted and they were no help, didn't care about what happened at all, my friend was visiting me here and her car was Parked for less than 5 hours and it was stolen, again no help from the apartments, roaches are in walls no matter what you do, or how much you clean, there is gonna be roaches all over the place crawling in the carpet and you don't even see how many is in the dirty carpet, I can go on and on about these apartments, the day of my move out I called them and Nicely explained my situation to them because my car wasn't starting yesterday when I needed to turn in my key, again they can fuck up all the want and make hella mistakes and you have no choice but to deal with it, oh but when you have a problem to deal with, they can care less, also mold in the showers, that they painted over, they never in the whole year changed my ac filter, honestly I can keep going on, all top of all this, the man that live here will stare you down and more if you a young girl, they will cat call at you, no matter what time of day it is, they always outside, if I can give this place 0 stars I would. read more

First off Lilly Ovalle was professional, courtious and extremely patient with the tenants who she was assisting and those waiting to be helped, she was working alone, working with a complete language barrier and multitasking between third part translators, welcoming those walking in and still smiling and greeting me and my friend with a smile, inbetween her working with tenants she kindly sent my friends contract via email to review while we waited. This was my personal experience and as a Texas State employee i understand dealing with constituants i was impressed and greatful!! read more
