Trainers know their stuff. Go get an evaluation of your dog. They have different plans. Hope to go back and get one started.

No one returned my message. This was very disappointing as I was unable to get the assistance I need with my dog.

Last year, 2024, I adopted a male Belgian Malinois youngster. I previously owned 3 GSDs & one…read morefemale Malinois, but this guy was a bit different. After working on some of Stieg's undesirable behaviors & teaching him some basic commands, I decided to enlist the help of a professional Trainer. After 6 months of researching & interviewing numerous Trainers, Ashley Arnold Hersel of AAA K9 Academy.com, located in Loxley, AL was my top pick. Of course I was nervous after reading horror stories about bad Trainers, but I really felt a connection with Ashley after speaking with her. She owned Malinois' herself & was knowledgeable of the breed. So off my Boi went for a 2 week Board & Train with Ashley. It was a long, hard separation for me. Well, when I arrived to pick Stieg up, I was overjoyed to see my crazy, goofy, comical, sweet, loving, playful Stieg in Great Shape with new manners to boot! Ashley worked wonders in 2 weeks. She helped me with follow-up sessions to be a better Handler. Stieg was always excited to see Ashley again. She really made a connection with my Boi. I highly recommend AAA K9 Academy & Ashley to help you & your dog have a tighter bond & a more fulfilling relationship. A trained dog makes life much easier on all. J D Brunnhoeffer

I was referred to Pro Canine from a gentleman that had a service dog in Rural King and he stated…read morethat Pro Canine hadn't trained his dog but said that this was the place to get training for my 8 week old German Shepherd which I assume he knew the owner personally. Went to Pro Canine and paid my 175 dollars for 5 sessions and the first thing he asked was "Is this gonna be a family dog or protection dog?' I stated "Both!"......He said "That's impossible you can't have both!!" He then proceeds to tell me I need to leave her locked in the kennel continuously and only let her out on a leash to go to the bathroom and then lock her back in. Every dog I've had in my life has always been a loving family member and were all treated as such and what kind of life would my new dog have locked in a kennel continuously so needless to say I did not agree with this training technique. The rest of the first session was to show me some Command exercises. Was looking forward to the second session due to the progress I had with my pup from the training I had done through the week with her. Had a question about how do keep her from playing too rough with our 3 year old terrier and was told I had to keep them separated all the time so instead of an answer to fix the issue his answer was to keep them separated which is an impossible feat being in an apartment and am I supposed to keep them separated forever? When I said that was impossible and didn't agree with that the answer I received was to keep a leash on her the entire time even in the house. I thought that answer was hard to carry out also. I then went through the drills me and my pup had worked on and was told I was doing them all wrong even though that's how I was told to do it at the first training session. He demonstrated again and contradicted himself numerous times and I left the second session more confused than when I got there and that's when I decided to look elsewhere. This is the experience I had with doing business with Pro Canine....take from it what you will.

The training sessions have been going very well, and her instructions and feedback are always clear. I can see progress every day with my puppies. I really appreciate that she steps in to help correct an error when necessary, but also takes the time to observe what you are doing first. She evaluates whether it is something that truly needs her input, something you can correct yourself, or simply a one-time mistake, which makes the learning process for me better since I am also able to catch my own mistakes and get assistance when needed. Rashelle has also been extremely responsive and communicative throughout the entire process. What I appreciate most is her ability to truly listen, not just to what we think we want, but to what we are actually trying to achieve. I often came in with a clear idea of what I thought we needed, and she took the time to ask thoughtful questions about our ultimate goals. Through those more in-depth conversations, she was able to better understand our family's needs and find the most effective training approach, often offering alternate or better solutions that made more sense for our dogs and our lifestyle.

We signed up for obedience training with Rashelle and found her very personable and knowledgeable. She was the second trainer that we tried and was a complete 180 from our first training experience, which had emphasized dominance and fear based techniques, something that really didn't work well for us. When we worked with Rashelle, I found she had a realistic approach but was also conscious of maintaining the presence of patience, kindness, and compassion from me towards my dog . She listened to my concerns and made me feel heard. My dog and I have a much better relationship now and I incorporate the concepts she's taught us into many aspects of our day to day training and living. Thanks Rashelle!
