I ventured to this studio quite a few times over the last year and was not too impressed…read more 1) They do not do inversions, and when I asked the question when I signed up, they avoided the question. 2) I was told I'd have to prove myself before trying more difficult classes. I therefore had to take a level 1 course, followed by a 1.5 and then a level 2 course. They should trust people when they say they have taken a bunch of reformer Pilates classes in the past. 3) The classes are on the shorter side. They only last 50 minutes and don't cover a full body workout in the short class time. I'd prefer a longer class of at least a full hour. 4) It is almost impossible to get into classes in the evening. I had to book classes more than 1 month ahead of time to get into the scheduled time slot. CLASS REVIEWS: * CP Reformer Flow 1: This is an entry level reformer Pilates class. It felt more like a stretching class with some pulsing exercises during various squats. I didn't find this class difficult and didn't break a sweat. It's definitely for a beginner or someone who wants a good stretch. * CP Suspend 1.5: This class was a bit more intense than the level one class. It integrates TRX and reformer Pilates into the workout. The class I attended was primarily made up of a lower body workout with some shoulder integration. The instructor also integrated a cool step machine called an EXO-Chai, that you lay-on and push your hands into so you can work your core and upper body. CP Reformer Flow 1.5: This class was an ok workout. I found the springs they had us use a bit light but it was a good core and leg workout. It wasn't too challenging so it is definitely good for a novice to intermediate reformer Pilates student. CP Reformer Flow 2: This class predominantly used the EXO-Chair and did not use the reformer Pilates machine. I was quite disappointed because my favourite part of Pilates is the reformer machine. The instructor had us on the floor and using the EXO-Chair because she said it was more challenging than the reformer. Would I go back? I would go back if they have a class available at a time that works for me. Would I join their monthly membership? No, I would not because the odds are I would waste sessions since there won't be a class available at a convenient time.

Since it is a brand new studio in a brand new retail plaza.. Moksha Yoga Maple can build and design exactly the way the owner envisioned, compared to a lot of other studios that need to convert or remodel existing spaces/business. There are tons of little cubicles for your shoes right when you walk in.. and thanks so much that there are padded benches for people actually sit down and put on/off their shoes!! hopping on one leg and balancing trying put on winter boots are not fun! The staffs are really friendly! Welcoming to first timer and everyone new to the practice/studio. The teacher, Vanessa actually sat in the front and reading all the new wavier forms people signed and ask questions if anyone new to the practice individually or have any concerns even before going inside the practice room. Vanessa even explain to all the newcomers what to expect...I really like that caring vibe... and how she really respect the students and herself as a teacher. The whole studio has a colour theme "Green". All the towels, (BTW the rental towel is one of those yogitoes) , mats, painted walls.. are all in the same colour theme.. "Green, which is Nature's colour, is restful, soothing, cheerful, and health-giving." - Paul Brunton The class itself is standard Moksha poses.. but since there are quite a few beginners, the instructor spent time and walk us through the poses verbally in details. She also shares her thoughts of how to take yoga practice off the mat into the world. I would say it was a great class with such a positive vibe!.. Facilities wise, there are 2 toilets, 3 showers with fostered shower doors.. filtered water to fill up your water bottles. No lockers though, so locking up your valuable in the car would be a good idea!

It's located on the second floor of the building and once you up the stairs you turn left for the reformer pilates, I believe there's other rooms for other classes on the right. I was greeted by the reception and had to sign a waiver form. You also have to wear pilates socks at this location during your exercises but if you don't have any, they have some for purchase at their studio. Once you walk into the room/ class you're expected to leave all your belongings like purses, wallets and phones at their cubbies since it's a no phone zone when the class is in session. Since I picked an introductory class, the instructor talked us through how to use the reformers and what to expect. During the class, I thought it'd be more useful if the instructor actually showed us how to do certain moves herself so we had a visual, rather than just talking us through the steps. As beginners, it would've been a lot more helpful. Knowing that this was a introductory class, I didn't expect to be sweating and be super sore the next day - which I wasn't. But I definitely felt some muscles being activated that I don't usually target. Overall, it was a great experience and I went back a couple more times after that. Take the introductory class as it really helped with understanding how to use the reformer and how the movements should feel.
