For those who haven't been in a while, they've been renovating. The main building is now just the main floor and basement (basement is bright and cheery, not quite finished yet, though). The second building is across the way and the entrance is located across from the All-American Valley General Store. The prices vary from insanely good deals to pretty darn expensive. And some of those expensive pieces need some reno loving. Mostly reupholstering for couches/chairs and refinishing hard-wood tables. The annex holds the clothing, books, house nick-nack pieces and personal accessories. Display doors can be challenging to move but don't need the help of a sales assistant. There are some really great prices for the random pieces that find their way into this store. I'm looking forward to coming back to this store. Friendly staff, interesting pieces and beautiful displays should make the trip out of town worth it!

That ended as soon as I opened the door. My friend and I were not greeted by the rude gentleman who sat behind the desk. He didn't even respond when I complimented him on a piece. There were two items I wanted to purchase but decided I'd rather deal with people who know how to treat their customers. A friendly demeanor, a knod or smile acknowledging someone has entered your store, can actually produce a sale. Merchants in town agreed that many complain about him. I still love Essex and it's many shops.

They held it for me until I could get there today. I guess I wasn't sure how big it is, but it's HUGE. It for sure didn't fit in the back of my SUV. so the employees managed to fit it in with a little overhang and bungee corded it very securely in my vehicle so I could make the seventy mile drive home with my new purchase. I was assured transparency when I opened my account. I asked for details on my account and they tried to intimidate me several times. Month after month my items were missing and very little, to zero money on my account. If I wanted to donate my items I would have chosen a reputable charity. I give respect and I expect the same. Luckily, I took photos of my items and was able to squeeze some respect out of them.
