Cara is one of the sweetest people we've ever met, and iIt was really the little things she did that made all the difference...letting my mother-in-law order stuff and send it to the ranch to put in storage, letting us drop things off early the day before the wedding, coming over to tell us that we didn't have to rush out of there the next day.....every single person just had SO much fun! We got so many compliments on what an absolutely breathtaking venue we had chosen. The kids had tons of room to run around on and fly kites, our friends were able to bring their dogs, lawn games galore, there's a working fire pit, a brand new back patio, you can choose to get married under a gazebo or in the field in front of the mountains, they built a beautiful reception pavilion already decorated with lights, you can arrive in a horse-drawn carriage if you get married on the weekend, you hire all your own vendors and set things up exactly how you want it....and the absolute best part about this venue is that our friends got to camp anywhere they wanted on the property for 2 nights! That means we were able to dance ALL night long, and then just crawl into your tent when you got tired. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this ranch and the owners. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding venue at an extremely reasonable price. Forever grateful we found Cara and her incredible ranch!!!

I forgot to review this awesome venue, from our wedding last December! I found The Loft on Yelp, I…read morehad never been. We decided to check it out for a possible wedding venue. I messaged on here and quickly had an appointment to come see the venue! We walked in and my husband said, "I think this is the place it just is so fitting for us." We did a walk through and fell in love with the venue, location and the fact that we had pretty much free rein over what details we wanted. We booked the venue for December 2018! We picked out a caterer, Baker, one of their preferred DJs, we did our our cocktail hour, one of their preferred bartenders, and Uriah as our photographer! The day of was so perfect for me. I picked out decor, table setting stuff, and all of that extra stuff and the people decorating just really made it look more beautiful than I had ever imagined. It was perfect. Even with a few hiccups, the crew just went with it and made it such a beautiful day. I so highly recommend this venue! Especially so you can have that personal touch on everything!

The accommodations and restaurants make staying in Alamosa attractive when we're doing anything related to the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. The only negatives were a non-working elevator and not-kept-filled bacon bin at the buffet breakfast. No doubt the elevator situation was temporary and we just had bad timing. Odds are high we'll be back many more times, especially since you can get really good pricing when IHG is having one of their frequent flash sales.

We stayed at the beginning of June and a day before we got there my husband received an email saying the elevator was broken. Ok, we get there and it says the elevator is broken from May through September? In the email we were offered help to bring our bags upstairs, and that definitely didn't happen when we arrived. The ladies at the front desk were nice, but zero offer was made of any kind to help with bags. We were on the second floor staying 4 nights with a family of 4, so we had multiple bags. Not only that, the first day we had a house keeping refresh and I thought that was great! Some new towels and our beds were made. It was a great surprise since we were at the Great Sand Dunes National Park multiple days. I know its standard for Holiday Inn to do a room refresh every other day, so the following day we hoped for at least a few new towels (especially since my older son had a nose bleed at night) but nope. Then came the third day, we were gone most of the day the third day as well and housekeeping never came. It was disappointing. I don't need a full room clean, but a few new towels in the bathroom and the beds made would have been nice? I did go and ask for another set of towels from the front desk, which they did provide, but it really should have been brought to the room. My husband on the 2nd night asked for an extra blanket or two (when we had to walk down the stairs again to the front desk) and the woman remarked that housekeeping would be looking for the blankets when they came in, ha! They never came! Guess they wouldn't be looking for the blankets- at least while we were in the room. Finally, the last straw was when we went to check out my husband asked for the bill. They tried to charge an extra $10 a day for facilities fee?!? For what? They said for breakfast- no that is a Holiday Inn perk that is included you shouldn't be charging an extra fee. If you have something extra or fancy at your hotel I can see the charge, but we are supposed to pay $10 extra a day for a broken down elevator?! No way. The staff here are nice, but I think management needs to catch a clue that some of these policies and ideas will not work. Also on our way out housekeeping had all the clean towels on the floor as she was changing them- BECAUSE THE ELEVATOR IS BROKEN. Help your workers out and fix the things that really need to be fixed. Skip the hassle and stay at a different hotel in the same area if I were you.
