If you are in the market for a mortgage loan, Tim Harrison at Cornerstone Home Lending is the first, second and third person you should call. He is honest, direct, extremely talented with "the numbers," and most importantly, he genuinely wants to help people. As a testament to this, by Tim's own advice, my husband and I ended up getting a loan from an entirely different lender! I was very impressed with Tim's honesty when he identified that a particular bank had access to a rate and rebate package (due to that bank's partnership with the builder) that he simply couldn't offer. Even then, that didn't stop him from giving us great financial advice. There is no question in my mind that we would not have been able to afford our house if it were not for Tim. He spent a great deal of time listening to us and educating us on how if we restructured our borrowing strategy, we could access rates and lower fees that somehow none of the other lenders were telling us about. When you speak with Tim, you can tell his mind is running at maximum strength, coming up with ways to save you money - not just at the closure of Escrow, but months and even years later. Four stars for this office for the help buying my house, but minus ten stars for dealing with the Broadview Mortgage corporate office in Illinois while trying to pay off my mortgage. They did everything possible to prevent me from paying off the mortgage. From holding on to the payoff notice for ten days rather than mailing it out within 48 hours like they promise. To blaming the USPS for taking two weeks to deliver a letter from Illinois to California. To giving me the payoff amount for the wrong day. To rejecting a check mailed as a regular payment with additional principle. To wanting to continue to take automatic payments even after the loan was paid off. Are their computers not sophisticated enough to realize the loan is paid? So stop taking my money! Are we living in the 1980's? It shouldn't take two weeks of jumping through hoops and blaming everyone but themselves to pay off a loan! Never again will I work with Broadview Mortgage. read more
