This particular Home Depot, which I visited today is absolutely horrible. There is no one to help you, and when you ask for someone they send you someone from another department that knows nothing about the department that you're in. You waste a lot of time while they fiddle with their electronics just to tell you that they really don't know and that this is not their department. Went to customer service spoke to several other individuals. They got on the intercom twice. Still couldn't get anyone to help with something as simple as some outdoor floodlights. While everyone was talking after 20 minutes and trying to figure out who they could ask, I just walked out to go to another store to get the things that I needed. One gentleman in an orange apron told me who I needed to speak to, but said he couldn't call him to come over. I would have to go and try to find him. I don't know how this makes sense. I don't know how these stores survive. No one seems to know what they're doing and everyone's just standing around punching a clock for a paycheck. read more

Home Depot shorted me 28 bags of top soil and 2 bags of mulch on my delivery. So that's about $90 worth of goods I paid for that I didn't receive... and I paid $89 for delivery on top of that for them to rip me off. I'm out $180. I was there when the delivery driver delivered 3 pallets. A couple hours later when I had a chance to inspect the delivery doc and count the inventory, I noticed the delivery doc said to expect 5 pallets. That's when I counted and noticed how much Home Depot shorted me. Btw, only 3 pallets where delivered. I called Home Depot Ashland and explained the situation politely. The rep was polite, took down my info, and promised that she or her manager would call me back right away. That was 12 hours ago... so it looks like they ripped me off and won't do anything about it. If they correct their mistake asap, I'll update this review accordingly. Otherwise, I'll never do business with them again. For the moment, I'm very displeased with them for shorting me $90 worth of goods; it delays my project because I don't have all the materials I paid for. Also very displeased that they promised to call me right back and it looks like they're just gonna blow off my loss. I guess some employee is enjoying the goods I paid for. Thieves. I blacklisted Home Depot ages ago and today I realized why! They follow their own rules!!! They never really enforced mask wearing, the many times during the beginning of the pandemic when I was there. Prior to the pandemic you could never find anyone to assist you with anything, and after the pandemic it's like a zombie apocalypse. Many of the staff are rude, ill-prepared and their system is antiquated! GOD forbid you are a Woman needing assistance, I hope you are not bombarded with the Mansplainers, who treat you like an idiot (when they are clueless). My experiences at Home Depot, especially this location are always met with contempt and disdain! I thought only Wells Fargo had that effect on me. Arguably the WORST experience I've ever had in Home Depot or any store and I mean EVER. The absolute worst customer service I have seen in my 32 years. I literally only came here for a new propane tank and had my family not needed it to finish grilling I would have went to a store 100 miles away than come here. The worst $14.98 I've ever spent. We walked in and a little light skinned girl near the door I approached calm and politely, "hi, do you know where we can get a new propane tank?" Her response, very rude, "first of all, take that outside"... I took the propane tank outside and waited for her to help....never heard anymore. I walked back inside and asked another lady, very politely, "hi, do you know where we can get a new propane tank?" Her response "yep give me a minute" Nothing 10 minutes later..... During this 10 minute wait, I waited near customer service and was completely ignored by an older white male, and 3 white women. Outside, a white woman came out, I asked politely "are you able to help us get a new propane tank?" VERY dismissive she responded "you will have to wait" she proceeded to help someone else and then finished and ignored us. As a black male, who acted very professional and calm the ENTIRE time, this was incredibly disappointing because had I been loud and obnoxious I would have gotten all the attention in the world. We waited another 10 minutes no help... Also note there were employees everywhere literally standing around not doing anything... I went to the lady working at the self checkout for help she was able to help me purchase the propane tank and then over the loud speaker asked can someone help outside at the propane tanks.... NO ONE EVER CAME! My cousin had to go find another employee and ask for help PLEASE. We finally got a tank in a transaction that should have taken less than 5 minutes turns out to be over 30 because of immensely poor customer service. Will NEVER SHOP AT HOME DEPOT AGAIN AND WILL DO WHATEVER I CAN TO MAKE SURE THE WORLD SEES THE CULTURE OF THIS BUSINESS. I have typically not a fan of Home Depot, but I have always rented tools and equipment from them. However, I do not intend to visit Home Depot for Any purpose in the future. I went in to rent a compactor for 2 or 3 days. The associate advised that it might be better to rent for up to a week because they were running an offer where if you rent for 3 days it was the same cost as renting for a week. OK, I said. So then if I have it for 4 days it's still the cost of 3? Yes, she said. So, instead of returning it Saturday night when we were finished with it, we returned it today(Monday) when I got home from work. However, I was charged for 4.5 days, which is the same price as a week. And half the cost of buying a brand new one. I spoke to the manager, but she claimed since the contract was closed there was nothing she could do. I know that's simply not a true statement. Since I was miss lead, whether intentional or not be renting tools or equipment from Home Depot again. read more

We bought a new dishwasher and paid for installation via Home Depot. The delivery team delivered the dishwasher but said the plumber would have to install and they ensured my wife and I there would be no additional cost because we had already paid for installation. The plumbers got here and told us it was gonna be an extra 400 dollars that they don't work for free. Home Depot just contracts out to them. It's ridiculous. We were assured there would be no additional cost. We bought 2 other appliances at the same time so Home Depot only gave us a partial credit not even close to covering the amount we were charged by the plumber. This is not okay. The business practices with these folks are shady. If I could leave 0 stars I would. read more

If I could give below a oen star I would, here is my issue: We ordered a dishwasher from our local Home Depot on January 22, and were told it could not be installed until February 18. I did not have an issue with this because I understand the backlog of appliances. My concerns started on February 18, we had our dishwasher installed and were told that we had a defective unit and would need to reschedule our installation. On Saturday March 25, the installers came out and told us that they could not install our new dishwasher because it would not be level. They then took pictures and left. I called MDO, and am now being told that I HAVE TO CALL AND HAVE MY FLOOR FIXED, because the legs are below the floor. I did not move the unit, your installers did that. I am being told you all will not even deliver my unit until the floor is fixed. There was nothing wrong with the floor when they initially installed it on February 18. I called and spoke with someone today, and I was told that I cannot get a phone call from the MDO manager because he is at a leadership conference. This is completely unacceptable, as I do not have a working dishwasher and have not had one since January. If this issue is not resolved before Thursday March 30, I will be contacting an attorney and filing a lawsuit. read more

Put some stuff in my cart and was in the garden center buying more but you had stuff I wanted outside on the sidewalk. Guess I'll just take my business to the big blue store. Contacted manager just a little you know of my frustration. Was told well I could've come ask for him (TJ) to get the problem resolved. Very Bad experience today with Home Depo . Bought a toilet and first find the toilet seat is broken - I go back they replace it . Meanwhile my plumber installed the toilet on the second floor of my house . After some time there is a leak going through our dining room - the plumber is called again - He finds a crack on the base of the toilet . Now he has to rip the toilet apart , carry it downstairs and we take it to home Depo . All they can do is replace the toilet . No account for the extra waste of time , the inconvenience caused and the damage to my formal dining room ceiling . i would avoid them now read more

5 star service. 4 star inventory. Total bathroom overhaul, down to the ground means we need a lot of product. Today was picking out tile. We did our research online. " yes, we have in stock. So we head to Home Depot 6501 W broad St. Oops, we can't find it. Called 10233 Lakeridge Pkwy. Yes, we have it. We arrived to find Shawn, in flooring, ready to help with ALL our needs. He found the tiles, confirmed the bar code (many in wrong location), even began loading cart. Oops not all tiles on this palet are our Topaz color. Would we like a complementary color for the floor... Shawn asked all the ight questions to avoid my potential frustration. He was the most knowledgeable employee - he has installed tile; he knows what to do to adjust a project. Shawn has the heart for customer satisfaction! Check out was fast and the loading team was helpful & friendly. Lost 1 star only because didn't have 5 inch ledges or the transition stone we wanted. Epidemic it appears. Came by to have some slats cut and lazy employees claim the saw cutting crooked. In their defense, two other stores nearby a Lowe's and a Pleasant's both also claimed their saw was broken. Won't be back to any of those stores ever again. read more

We bought our first (and last) ever appliance from a Home Depot, never again. We bought this one because they were the first place we found that supposedly stocked the LG brand dishwasher we wanted. They did not. They displayed it but did not have it. It was a bait and switch. They convinced us to buy a higher price model that they did have. The salesman told us that this model did not require a pre-wash. But it does. Dishes still come out dirty and we now have to pre-wash the soiled ones. The salesman also said they would install the dishwasher for $100. The delivery people tried to install it, but it did not work. We had them come back but they said they were not able to install it. So we had to pay a plumber another $200 to install it. I no longer go to Home Depot for anything. read more

We ordered carpet with 72 hour installation on the 15th of February for the nursery. First we were told that the carpet (that was in stock) would not be available until March 5th. My husband called and spoke with someone at the store who said that they would call to set up an installation time (this was on the 19th) - There was no phone call so I called the store and spoke with the manager on Friday who did call me back and told me there was a mistake made with the 72 hour ordering and it would be installed by Wednesday and she would call Monday. We spoke briefly of some sort of discount since this was well OVER the 72 hour installed agreement that we wanted when we had an estimate. Since we didn't hear anything early Monday my husband called and we were told that they would be there no later than 10 am on Wednesday the 25th per the contractors that were hired through Home Depot. We were told from Home Depot that the discount or gift card or whatever would be discussed after the installation. The contractors showed up before 8am and were very professional. Probably because they didn't work for Home Depot because we still have not received one phone call from the Manager of the Lakeridge Ave store in Ashland VA to see if we were satisfied with the installation of the carpet. This was just a brief explanation of what happened - but there were more than a few numerous phone calls made to Home Depot as well as the installers that were putting in the carpet. read more

I just finished attempting to return some items I have bought during a few different trips to the Home Depot. Since Sept I have rented 3 pieces of equipment and purchased hundreds of dollars worth of product. So far the service has been ok but today was different. I had a receipt for some of the items I was returning and some I didn't so I requested a store credit so that I could continue to spend my money in the store. Since there was no way to determine when I bought some items I was able to return them but the ones I actually had a receipt for were not able to be returned since the purchase date was 9/16 and the return policy ends in 90 days from purchase. Since I have no further use for orbital sanding pads I had to throw them away in the trash next to the return register. In reality I could have bought the items with no receipt long before the ones that I have a receipt for but their flawed company policy just states those items with a receipt can not be older then 90 days. Sad to say but after I spend the store credit money I will no longer shop at this or any other Home Depot. read more
