The Home Depot on Alan Wood Road in Conshohocken was an experience that was challenging, to say the least. Went in today, Sunday at 10:AM on 6/14/26, needing drain cleaner. Asked two people, and was given the finger, as in pointing in an approximate direction, but not actually offering an exact location. It is frustrating to think that someone in an orange smock will help; only to find out that your questions have interrupted their cell phone activity. But, I should have known better because each time I enter this Home Depot, employees offer the same impeccable service: nonchalant, please don't bother me, let me look away, or better yet, you (the customer) please go away. I must be a glutton for punishment to keep patronizing an establishment that disregards the importance of customer inclusion. Home Depot thank you for a lesson learned. read more

I came in on Sunday to pick up some paint. The store wasn't busy, but I still had to wait 15 minutes for someone to show up at the paint counter. There were employees at the front checkout, but they couldn't help because they didn't know how to operate the paint machines. When the paint associate finally arrived, she acted like she'd been there the whole time. She quickly got my paint and then immediately moved on to the next person. When I told her I had another question, she gave me a look like I was interrupting her flow and bothering her. After reluctantly answering, she continued helping others, clearly showing poor customer service skills. I've usually had great experiences at this location, but my last two visits have been awful. On a previous trip, I was making a return and explained to the associate that I'd used store credit for the purchase. I also mentioned that it wouldn't show when I swiped my card, but I had my receipt. Despite this, the associate processed the return as "no receipt" and only refunded half my money. read more

Awful service. Paid to have someone measure basement for carpet. They saw the room and never mentioned moving a pool table. We are senior citizens and after we paid the full amount they insisted we move the pool table. Have recarpeted twice in 30 years and never been asked to do that. Then they charged 15% for ordering the carpet and tried to get us to pay the installers for a lost delivery day! Installers never scheduled a day much less came to the house. NEVER use Home Depot. After 30 years of working with them we are DONE. Worst service ever!!!!! read more

My mother and I were shopping for storage bins and had a hard time finding lids to match. That's when Rich came over and truly went above and beyond to help us. He was incredibly pleasant, patient, and helpful from start to finish. We talked to some staff around the kitchen remodeling area, and they were friendly but didn't seem all that knowledgeable. We had been elsewhere earlier where the rep was very knowledgeable, so maybe that made a difference. The store itself is fine - good size, good selection of everything they sell in these stores, and in many cases better prices than Lowe's. However, I learned recently that they don't have the equipment rental center, which is kind of a bummer. read more

The gentleman in the plumbing department was on a forklift and the area was closed. I asked him about the toilet part and he kindly lower the forklift, and left what he was doing, open the gate for me and help me find the right part. So kind and caring. I don't frequently come in to the Home Depot but when we had a Christmas tree mishap this year, it was the first place we could think of to help solve our problem. Our fake Christmas tree we had ordered online arrived and was too small and the company said the size we needed was out of stock. Not willing to forgo a Christmas tree, we headed to Home Depot at 8:00 pm and the staff made sure we would find the perfect tree. I am not sure if it was because it was the first week in December and the good fake trees had been purchased already but the selection of fake trees was fairly weak (looked pretty fake in my opinion). We went outside and were pleasantly surprised at the fairly large selection of real trees they had for reasonable prices. Jerry was our saving grace and helped my sister and I until we found the perfect tree. Thank you for calming us down in our time of need! read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. We went to find a replacement hinge for our lazy susan cabinet and the experience was laughable. We asked for help from an employee who was in the hardware area, and he asked for an image of the hinge which we showed him. He then proceeded to say, and I quote, "your guess is as good as mine". Not the answer you want from an employee at a hardware store. We then went over to the cabinet section to see if we could get help there, and the woman we talked to was so condescending and unhelpful - she said she would need to special order the piece once she figured out exactly what it was. This review is only regarding the paint department. I came in to grab a quart of white semi gloss to finish the trim on my latest home project. The paint was ready in a matter of minutes (it needed to be shaken up) and I was on my merry way. (Which was appreciated since my painter was waiting!) I was in here another time and a very nice gentlemen at the service desk helped me out. Literally the least stressful transaction I had that whole day! I wish I could have given this review zero stars! I went to this Home Depot on 4/13/21 at 4:45pm, to pick up several bags of mulch. I needed a low, flat bed cart and there appeared to be none within eye-sight either in the parking lot or in the lawn and garden area. I asked the woman at the register where those particular carts were and she responded in such a rude manner that I decided to leave and never come back. I have never been treated so rudely by any store employee, and I am surprised this person is still employed there. I will never shop at this Home Depot and will advise everyone I know to stay away. We bought our new front door from this Home Depot last year, and somehow I forgot to post a review!! Well, the door has welcomed visitors to our house for the past year and I have to say that virtually everyone says what a beautiful door it is! We were super impressed with the efficiency and speed with which our door was ordered, delivered and then installed. All in all, it took about a twelve days, which for a home project like this is really great. The salesman was very helpful and polite; the delivery and set up men were excellent as well. Our new door took us through the winter and we were amazed at how well it helped to insulate our enclosed front porch. Save yourself being treated like crap by bossy and rude workers. Go to King of Prussia or Audubon Home Depot. I bought an order of over $3500 as a pro. Considering how high an amount, they treated my horribly. I had a trailer to move the 114 bundles of shingles. They could not get the bay door open and told me it could not be loaded. I then asked if they would deliver for free. The associate Lolo obnoxiously said no. My son then went over and manually opened the bay with the chains. She yelled that we were not authorized to do that. The fork lift then loaded us without further incident. I returned a week later to return a tool. The Associate at Customer Service yelled at the folks in line to move the queue, rather than addressing us nicely like a professional. read more

I am disappointed in Samsung appliances. I have real estate office that has about 1,200 new clients each year and we recommend Home Depot in the area. I bought the stainless package over the holidays from Samsung and 3 of the Appliances have issues. Dishwasher- does not dry the dishes like our Last one which was GE. Microwave- if the package says 30 seconds you have do put it in for 55 sec. to 1 min. Stove- my life loves to cook and the stove takes longer and trying to figure it out. We would like to get the the 3 appliances looked at and if they can't be fixed returned. I personally bought 10 homes last year and we spent over 500,000 with you last year. I ordered gutter guards to be delivered to the Conshohocken, PA store. Periodically, I checked on order, saw product was being shipped and delivered to store, but never got email telling me to pick up order. I called and was told most of the order was there, but not all. Via Homedepot, I told them to cancel the order as it had been over 3 weeks since I placed the order. They replied and said I could pick up the 24 items shipped to the store. Went to the store, waited around 30 minutes, and was told they couldn't find ANY of the items on the order. Amazing for a company who probably spends millions on supply chain software. I'll shop at Lowes from now on. read more

I think its common knowledge that buying a house infinitely increases your trips to Home Depot, but I had no idea I'd be coming here 3 or 4 times in the span of a single week. Luckily, the store is huge so there's plenty of selection and the staff is generally helpful. Once you've been to one Home Depot, I think you can easily navigate around them all - only change up at this one seems to be an emphasis on self check-out, which I don't mind. There's always at least 1 or 2 clerks hanging around who will even scan your cart for you if you aren't the do-it-yourself kind. No complaints here. Pretty sure I will be back many more times! read more

This location has a good product assortment and since I have been there soooooo many times since I bought my house 18 years ago I know pretty much where everything is. Their best department is the Windows. A couple guys have been there forever and they know what they are doing. Tip on Windows: certain Home Depots carry different size Windows so don't necessarily custom order. Otherwise I feel like it's always hard to find someone when you need help especially later at night or early. That s not a problem they have at Loewes. There, they actually approach you all the time if they see you are lost in your thoughts. read more

I only venture into hardware and tool stores about twice a year (my dad's birthday or Christmas). He always sends me a link or picture and description of what he's looking for. I usually look up and down the aisles a couple minutes before giving in and asking a sales associate for help. Today, I must've looked lost because a sales associate greeted me immediately and offered to point me in the right direction. I pulled up the direct link to the item I was looking for and he pointed me several aisles over and offered to walk along with me. During this short walk is when his unexpected sales pitch started. He asked me how my current heating and cooling services are in my home. I explained that I am currently renting my home and he then asked me how my landlord feels about heating and cooling services? First of all, I have no idea how my landlord feels about heating and cooling. Second of all, I don't care. I came into Home Depot for a simple hardware piece. I explained to the sales associate that I rent through a property management group and don't have any interest in HVAC. He then started asking me when I plan on buying a house and if I would be interested in HVAC services. When I told him I was not interested, he stopped and moved onto the next customer and I was left to wander up and down the couple aisles that he pointed to on my own. After several minutes more of searching, I decided to throw in the towel and find another sales associate to ask for help from. I had to walk several aisles over to find another associate in an unrelated aisle. I showed him the photo and description from their website and he directed me back to the aisles I was already in and told me that there should be a sales associate over there who can help me. Again, I headed back to the hardware section. No sales associate in sight, besides associate # 1 a couple aisles over who was busy spitting his sales pitch at another unexpecting customer. I finally gave in and called my dad to ask him where his birthday gift could be found. He told me each item on the website is listed by "aisle" and then "bay." After looking this up, I saw that it said this item is not available in the store I was currently at. This is frustrating because it could've been resolved about 15-20 minutes prior if one of the two sales associates had taken a closer look. I then clicked a link to see if the item was available in any nearby stores, which it was not. Discouraged, I decided to leave the store. I considered buying my Dad a gift card on the way out so that he could get the item himself, but decided against it. After about 25 minutes of aimless wandering, 2 attempts at seeking help from unresponsive or unprepared sales associates, along with a failed irrelevant HVAC sales pitch, I couldn't justify spending my money at this particular location and giving Home Depot my business. read more

Update- I was again stood up for the 3rd time with this dishwasher delivery. The only reason I was updated at all was because I reached out to a HD manager to ask him to check and make sure the delivery would actually happen. It took the warehouse over 2 hours to get back to him to tell him the dishwasher had been damaged and wasn't being sent out. That day- the day I had already been given a time window for delivery. They told the HD mgr they had alerted me- absolute lie. The HD manager was very responsive, despite not being able to have any other delivery service bring me this unit. He re-ordered a new unit and rescheduled delivery for today and the delivery team actually came and I was so happy, until they took the new dishwasher out of the box to find it broken. It then took me 1 hour and 40 mins on the phone with GE to get rescheduled for now the 5th time an entire week from now!!!! read more

So disappointed in the lack of customer service in the carpeting department. 2018 we had carpeting installed in 3 bedrooms, hallway and stairs. The purchase was made through the Norristown store on Alan Wood Road. Several months ago the dog tore the piece under a bedroom door. I went to Home Depot, spoke to the original salesperson about having a repair done and was told that this carpeting is still in stock. However, only Vic could handle my request. I called Vic, explained the situation, and told him we were not asking for a free repair and fully expect to pay for it. Vic gave me a song and dance about the dye might not match and we might need the whole room redone. I told him a slight difference in dye didn't matter. It's better than looking at the matting underneath. Vic said he would call me that next Monday. Never heard from him. A few weeks ago I went back to the store on Alan Wood Road and explained everything to the original salesperson. He said he would make a note for Vic. Then he told me that big box stores don't want to do anything after installation and find a reason not to do so even if there is a warranty. It was suggested that I cut a section from the carpeting in a closet and tape it in place. Really????? We paid a lot of money for this project. To boot, he said that the carpeting is no longer available. It was available when I spoke with Vic months ago. If you are considering having carpet installed by Home Depot beware that Home Depot will not offer customer service after the installation and only one unresponsive person makes the decision. From the conversation I had with a Home Depot employee, even the value of a warranty is dubious. read more

Home Depot has a very unfriendly return policy which they try to mask as a third party verification. In my case, I was returning new unused items which I had a receipt and were within the return period of 90 days. They refused to refund anything because they said i was flagged by a third party called the "retail ratio". The customer service person said he was helpless to do anything more and I would have to call this " retail ratio" company. What a bunch of BS! I spend several thousand a year there. BTW, I requested store credit if that would make it easier for HD. They said they were unable to help me at all. Since when does a big retailer need to rely on a 3rd party to take care of customers?? Even the store manager was powerless. I run a large company. Customers come first in my company. The Retail Ratio company told me that my purchase was done with a store credit and that, since I was returning items purchased with store credit, I was flagged. I can understand flagging something, but when you can see that I am a legitimate customer with a valid receipt, please fix the issue. I am boycotting Home Depot. It is a disgrace since I've spent hundred of thousands there (as a contractor) to get treated like a nobody. Customer service matters! Wish I could give zero or negative stars! Disgusting. read more

This Home Depot has the best customer service around by far! We were re doing a bathroom in a single family home and came here to pick out tile/accent/mosaic for the walls and floor (we are totally clueless when it comes to this) the guys were so helpful and great to talk to here. Juan stayed after his shift just to make sure we were happy with all the tiles etc we chose. He also was not pushy and very attentive to our needs and questions we had. Also, it's cheaper at Home Depot than lowes. The same toilet at lowes was $269 and was $219 at Home Depot. If you need any type of flooring or wall tile, wood, planks anything in that genre, definitely go to Home Depot and ask for Juan. Way better customer service in general than Lowes. read more

I was searching online for a particular item when I found that this particuliar Home Depot had it in stock. Granted, I called at 9:45 and knew that they closed at 10 PM, but I wanted to make sure that it was there so that I could pick it up in the morning. The nice man on the line had told me that he would set it aside, put my name and # on it and for me to pick it up in a particuliar place in the store the following morning. The next morning I went to that particuliar spot to pick up the item and the employees looked at me like I had two heads. They were disinterested in helping me find the product, sending me to the correct area to find the product, telling me the correct people to talk to, etc. After literally talking to 9 different people, all to no avail or showing any effort in what is commonly called "customer service", I simply left and went to the nearby Lowes store and had the part I wanted in less than 45 seconds, thanks to the employees there that were willing to send me in the correct direction. Time and time again I go to Lowes cause its closer & they don't have what i need & have to go to the depot. I get to the depot & the bathroom is gross but i expect that late in the afternoon cause contractors who consume huge quantities of coffee hit that thing hard all day long. We discovered one reason for the delay mentioned in a previous post. Home Depot subcontracts installation to a company who is properly vetted, and appropriately registered on the Pa. Attorney General Home Improvement Contractor database. That company, however, subcontracts to others. Our subcontracted subcontractor fell ill and was also backed up with work. In the interim, we read news accounts of a CHOP researcher who suffered a dreadful fate after an exterminating job was surreptitiously subcontracted, without her consent, by the company she called. When our subcontracted subcontractor did not show up on the Attorney General database we decided not to take a chance. With the help of a relative, who we paid about $135., we completed the installation ourselves. read more

Avoid like the plague. Worst customer service experience of my life. Went there to order some windows. Should be simple enough, right? Apparently not for this store. Here's a summary of my attempt to buy something from here: - Went to the windows department and looked around. No one was there. - Asked an associate. They looked around and then said to go ask customer service. - On the way there I asked another associate who told me to go to the "Pro Desk" - Went to the pro desk, was ignored by the person there. Asked the clerk at checkout and she told me to go to customer service. - Went to customer service, and they said they would call someone to meet me at the windows section. - Went to the windows section, no one was there so I walked back to customer service - Apparently the windows guy was on his lunch break and only one person employed here can help with ordering something. They said to go back to the pro desk. - Went back to the pro desk, was once again completely ignored by the woman working there until I asked her about it. Was told to speak to someone else, then promptly ignored again. - Found the person, who was apparently too busy to help. I've now talked to 8 different employees, and walked about two miles around the store. All I wanted to do was order some windows. Will never be coming back here again, and will make sure to tell anyone I know to avoid it at all costs. At least the people at Lowe's put some effort into helping customers. read more
