I have never had a problem getting help at home Depot and today was exceptional. There was a gentleman working in the garden area and I couldn't lift a tree so he came over and helped me get it on a cart , helped me put it in the car and then walked with me to the checkout. He said it was selling fast and he was only a check out guy. So I was going to push my cart out to get it off the parking lot. The check out guy wanted to see a receipt for the garden plants. The amount of unprofessionalism, lack of communication, the inability to get the accurate carpet and pad the day of install, length of time to get the situation corrected, extra 10-15 Grey hairs and amount of stress is unbelievable. Home Depot is a decent sized store with a great sale every now and then. The service is so mixed. Sometimes when I go, they are very knowledgeable, but other times, they aren't. Not sure if some of the people are new or something, but if I ask a general question about sinks in the bathroom section, I honestly expect them to know the answers. I usually come to home depot for my 'hardware store needs', but I like to go to Menards as well because their prices are usually better. read more

This Home Depot took advantage of an 81 y.o. woman that had caner. we were approached by a woman named Dana and stated she could help my mother set up a kitchen cabinet remodel and people would come to home. My mother agreed, so contractors came and what she thought would be with new cabinets since she has had hers since 1972. This was done in April, she wrote Home Depot twice for a print out of materials and labor costs because they wanted money up front of $15,000.00. she wrote the check, no one showed up for 5 months. When the contractor showed up he took drawers and doors off, loaded took them home, Dropped of corner cabinet that went over heat register. I told her to tell him to stop, what's going on. He told my mother it was refurbished cabinets, she said "NO" I told them I needed New since mine are so old. So they charged her 6,000 for materials she can't use and no refund of 9,000 dollars they didn't use. TOTAL FUCKING NIGHTMARE. I get mistakes happen but to charge someone for materials they cannot use because the contractors made a mistake. She's been contacting since then no answer. I do not recommend shopping at this particular Home Depot store. They don't price match their own website's price. The customer service desk called a manager over when I inquired about how to get the online price, the manager said she didn't honor the online prices, she told me I was not even on the Home Depot website without looking at my phone. I ended up calling the Home Depot customer service and had an employee verify that it was the right item. Online customer Service representative told me to order online and she would do price adjustment. I ordered online for in store pick up and they told the customer service representative they wouldn't honor that price and canceled the order. I ended up getting it shipped to home with the discount. Shop online or pick a different store nearby. This one is terrible. read more

I like coming here vs Mernards plus they give military discount and are MUCH friendlier than Mernards cashiers. I came here for a lock and chicken coop. Went outside and couldn't see the coops because space was covered by random pallets of stuff and a forklift. Kind of messy on that spot. Found someone to help us and they were out but will have more in a few days. Left with tree trimmers , lock and an ax. read more

two friends have had problems with carpeting they have ordered from home depot. Now my daughter has had nothing but headaches after ordering appliances and counter tops. First freeze of winter after Ak came in and redid their work-not that cold outside but intake pipe has frozen ice dripping and its inside the furnace closet not on an outside wall. Had trouble this summer and they or Home Depot never returned my emails even though that is what their responce on yelp said to do. Geo-thermal nightmare-see new photo! I wish I can do a zero review. Do not order anything for delivery from homedepot. I ordered $500 worth of items to be delivered the next day. HD confirmed availability and accepted the order for next day delivery which was Tuesday - for which they charged $75. Tuesday came and went, no delivery. Upon checking the order again they changed the delivery to Saturday. Saturday came and went, no delivery. Checked the order, the delivery date changed to Monday. When I called them, they basically said that even that date was not guarantee. So they have no idea when the item will delivered to the house. Mind you the store is less than 10 miles away and the items - mostly drywall was in stock. Apparently they have no control over their so called express delivery. And don't bother calling the 800#, the SW Omaha store told them the order was pulled and ready for delivery but when I spoke to Amy at the SW Omaha store, she informed me that her manager told her they have absolutely no control and really don't care. Nothing they can do to help or want to do to help. Can't imagine how a big company like Home Depot has no concept of what express delivery is and has no control over their delivery company. read more

Home Depot is by far my favorite home improvement store. Now just because I am a woman, doesn't mean that I am not handy. I am a self-learner, a Pinterest copy-cat, and DIYer to the max! All of which encompass a need to go into an intimidating, testosterone filled store such as Home Depot. But intimidating, it is NOT! To prepare for the journey, I make a list of things I think I need, hold my head high and act like I know what I am doing. Pshhhh! I am immediately greeted by a person with a smile asking me what I came in the store for that day. What a relief! Now I don't have to spend hours looking for someone is an orange smock where I can find a 3/4 size cement capable screws. It's super handy to have employees there to help at a drop of a hat. Most of the time when I act like I know what I am talking about, the employee is ten times more knowledgable, which is always helpful. I have not yet been disappointed by my treks into Home Depot. Home Depot also cuts wood! FOR FREE! This makes my life of making benches, headboards, and window cushions that much easier. I fill like I don't have to go out and buy a saw, or borrow one from the neighbor (thank god!). I also love Home Depots gardening section. Everyone I've talked to is very knowledge about plants and can immediately find what I am looking for. And might I mention they have succulents year-round! They also have beginner and advanced classes for an array or projects.Not to mention, if you are a mom or dad, they also have a kid's class. If you are, or are looking to get into DIY, definitely check out Home Depot, for all/most of your crafty needs. read more

Buyer beware. Went to Home Depot found the water heater wanted. No employees to help so did the online to get installation setup, Aksarben is the install company, they were quick to respond and sent Andy out to talk to us the same day. Told Andy the one we wanted, did not have the full model number but gave him the specs and price, he brought up on his tablet a model that looked right, no prices. Tyler did the install the next day, he is the only reason for an star, he was fast, courteous, and professional and it looks nice. Mind you straight replacement, less than $100 in new parts. After he left noticed some things "missing" from what we requested. Found it was a different model number that was a cheaper model. It ended up costing triple the cost of the water heater not double as originally thought. Called around and got a couple quotes to install, over half install price what they charged. Bottom line, get the water heater there to make sure you get the one you want and find your own plumber. read more

Terrible experiences bought appliances 6 months ago the microwave didn't work out of the box so instead of a swap I had to have it repaired. I have worked in retail for 15 years so I get corporate policy. Now I have purchased windows 20 minute wait to order them after I stopped in the store to get a quote. They came in and when I called to get delivery and cost to deliver set up I waited for 20 minutes just to be transferred 2 times. I hung since I was waiting for a call back from Samsung to repair the microwave for a 2nd time. Called back in and just waited on hold for 20 more minutes. Then spoke to the manager on duty she answered and when I started talking she asked to put me on hold again. Then 20 more minutes for her "delivery manager" to set up my delivery. Again I understand retail and have worked for both Lowe's and Home Depot. However this is a lack of training and caring oh but they did lower the price of the windows so I only paid $29.00 for delivery. I would have asked for more but I did not want to wait on hold any longer. read more

I am remodeling a rental house and I went in to have them order a tub, surround and shower door which they have online but do not carry in the store. They have signs all over that they will beat competitors pricing but when I asked them to match the pricing I had from another supplier they refused. I called Home Depot corporate and they had me return and talk to a manager. Again they declined to match pricing nor can they special order what I want and have me pay for it at the store. I have to order it online. The front line employee I talked to was very nice and helpful but the management people are idiots. I will not go back. read more
