I go to the garden center at 9:30 am on a nice day in the spring to get garden soil and compost and the register there is closed and the gate is locked. So I go in main door and back into garden center dragging the flat heavy cart. I get about 10 bags on the cart, about 300 pounds or so and have to drag it all the way to the opposite side of the store to pay for it. Maybe when you go you'll get lucky and the garden center register and gate will be open and an employee will offer to help. I probably will shop elsewhere next time. read more

We were so excited when we found these in the store and ordered them, we had a contractor lined up to come in a couple days after the anticipated delivery date. We have 12 cabinets that we ordered. Of which 7 were damaged and 1 just disappeared. They get us 10% off and said they couldn't do better than that. We reordered the 7 and when they arrived today 4 were damaged. When I called customer service they didn't even offer any money off. Read the reviews before ordering. Lesson learned! read more

I have been to the Home Depot in Durango, Colorado a few times. Each time I have gone I've gotten excellent service. the guy in the Flooring Department was excellent. gave us all the cool tricks on how to DIY our floor...also, I know they actually care about the people that are customers there because my wife and I lost our little girl in the store and the way they handled it when I reported that we couldn't find her was unbelievable. They announced it to all their workers and they all covered the exits and it was just super impressive the way they basically all put that as the focus and made sure we located her. We are super grateful for all the employees there and how they responded. I would recommend this Home Depot ten times over! read more

If I could put 0 stars I would. Ask an employee for help? They have no idea. They all just say "I don't know check two random aisles that don't relate to the product you're looking for". I work in customer service and I have never witnessed such laziness. No one (besides one person) tried to help or figure out a solution. Also when looking for help, they will walk away from you and refuse to meet eye contact. The only way I got help was having my dad call and the only helpful person was Dave. If you go to this Home Depot, ask for Dave. Dave is incredibly knowledgeable and was able to help me in less than 10 minutes. Also another note: I was in this Home Depot for an hour and circled the entire store three times before I called my Dad so I did try to look for the product I was in search of. read more

Claudia the " store manager " is the absolute worst, tried calling to resolve an appliance issue as we got sent the wrong size refrigerator after we made an appliance order in store. She told me the appliance I had was " too high end " to re sell in " her store" if it was a cheaper stainless steal product she would swap my product no problem, I call G.E directly and told me bring your refrigerator to any local store to do an exchange " no problem " thank you for being a GE customer, she tells me absolutely not GE does not know what they are taking about. Weird how the company directly tells me it's ok to do then it doesn't align with store policy? Weird.. why would Home Depot even sell an appliance they couldn't put back on their floor? Her solution was for me to call HR .. after she told sell my brand new fridge on Craigslist. Extremely unprofessional and demeaning. As I have bought 2 ge cafe fridges, 2 ranges & a dishwasher. Over 20k in appliances an no help not to mention the 4 Maytag washers and dryers bought from home depot all in the same calendar year. Husband is a contractor we also buy all of our supplies through them, won't be using Home Depot any longer that's for sure. Pro extra and military discounts not enough, Not worth staying for this kind of service. read more

(Bad Management) recently I have had very bad luck with this Home Depot in general , from ordering bunks of wood that had obviously been tampered with (bad split dry and crooked wood in the center of the bunk, wet fresh straight wood on the outside, giving the appearance of a good bunk) to most recently purchasing a stove that was crushed on delivery that management refused to replace or even try and help with a solution. the employees were kind and joked about how bad management has gotten. manager mike dodged me across the store sending others to hear the complaint. Manager Sierra said this happens a lot (if I had a dollar for every time etc.) but insisted it was my problem and they wouldn't do anything. Their floor employees in back saw the damage and said that has been an issue verifying the order came from their store as well, all the while joking and talking under their breath about current management issues. To no avail, I will submit a formal complaint for wasting my money on defective equipment and carry my business to Farmington or Bloomfield. Very disappointed in this place!!! You Would think that they would at least let you know when they don't have someone to help you, and not leave you WAITING for over 30 minutes for assistance to come cut some wire. When we checked out went to CS desk to say something and the lady informed us that no one was working in the electrical area. I am a Home Depot PRO member and regularly spend over $20,000 each year at the Durango CO store. Given I have large projects I typically buy more than I need and return the remainder. In the past I have never had issues with returns. Recently I was returning about $400 of new unused items and was told my TRE RETURNS were too high. I was not given the number to contact them even though I asked. That was only my second return in the last 2 months. What was upsetting is being berated and chastised by the store manager at the Home Depot Durango Store. I was even told to shut up by the store manager. I have been a loyal customer for 30 years and have never been treated this badly for a simple return. I called the customer care line and they did not seem to care either. After years of giving all my business to Home Depot this may be my last purchase and will buy from local hardware store. read more

We live in Cortez. We purchased a pallet of garden soil via the website. Upon arriving (after driving 45 miles with a trailer) we were told the order was cancelled even though I had the receipt. So we asked if our soil was in stock, it was. We paid for it and waited for an hour for them to find someone to load it. When they guy came out with the forklift, he couldn't put it on our trailer even though we just watched him load up at 5 other trailers. By now it's raining. He dropped our soil and left, leaving us to load 40 bags each 2 cu. ft ourselves, didn't even bother helping. Worth the time and money to go Lowe's in Farmington. Much better customer service. There was a reason for ordering a pallet. read more

Do not buy an appliance from Home Depot! We bought a Samsung dishwasher and the door leaked immediately. The staff/management at Home Depot offered no help and told us to contact Samsung. 4 repair people and 8 hours of work later, it still leaks. Home Depot is doing NOTHING to help us work through this with Samsung. Buy a faulty product, you would expect the vendor to at least back you with the manufacturer. read more

We recently had a meeting with the one cabinet "designer" in the store. Our architect did our cabinet plans and we brought them with us. The designer proceeded to ignore our drawings and when we pointed out the design was what we wanted he told us we would "do it his way" because he "knew what he was doing," the implication being, obviously, that our architect (and in turn we) didn't know what we were doing. The fact that we were the ones paying for it that didn't matter. On the way out, we spoke with the store manager who agreed that wasn't how they did things and he immediately headed toward the back of the store to the cabinet section. We won't be back. The store lost a sale that would have been five figures. Life is too short and money too hard to come by to do business with people like this. read more

Every time I sign on I have to change my location. Stupid that it doesn't remember. Additionally, received an email indicating an issue with payment due to my banks daily limit restriction. Awful service in lumber department. Actually, non existent service! I asked 3 different people for help and didn't get any. One guy sat on the phone for 5 minutes relating my questions to the lumber expert in store who couldn't be bothered to come help me face to face. I also waited for 10 minutes the first time then another 10 minutes, then finally they called him and he still wouldn't come. Told me via the other clerk that all the woods were the same and it was a personal preference as to types which not only contradicts itself but doesn't make sense. Had ok experiences here before but being the only game in town has sunk the standards for customer service to a new low. This was ridiculous and I will be telling people to stay away from due to the non existent customer service and lack or professionalism shown at this store. read more

Kirsten's review (below) is right on and I don't know why it is in the "not recommended" category. One has to wonder what the hiring criteria is. Manager's don't last any longer than the greeters. Their most recent pick could probably tell you anything you want to know about eggs or carrots as he has a long career with the grocery store industry, namely Safeway. Wonderful guy unless you have a problem with your granite order. They use Stone Systems out of Albuquerque as their sole vendor and refuse to seek a local source. I haven't even got the countertops yet and have gone through weeks of agony trying to find anyone between the two companies that is knowledgeable enough to get a simple order completed and delivered. Home Depot has now cancelled my order and I will seek a Durango company to get my countertops done. Read all of the reviews for Stone Systems in Albuquerque and throughout the country if you are thinking about buying countertops from Home Depot. Methinks not! read more

The issue I have with them is ongoing at the Durango Home Depot; they need a new manager. We are doing a home remodel and drive a distance to go there to get something, and it is out of stock. If it is not what we need that is out of stock, it is always missing inventory on all isles. I agree with all the negative reviews. Thus store has the worst customer service EVER!!!!! We ordered a washer and dryer from them. The washer arrived damaged on the front but we accepted it with a $150 credit because we were desperate. We found out after they left that when I turned the dryer on, it was metal against metal and was so loud , it sounded like it would fall apart any minute! Totally unusable! Upon looking at the dryer, there was a huge dent in the back and it was never leveled. I think the delivery people knew there was a problem but left in such a hurry so they didn't have to address it. I had 12 people coming for a week the week of Memorial Day and was in desperate need for a dryer. I called the delivery company and they said it would be a week before they could get us a dryer. I called Home Depot to see if they would give us a loaner and they said they didn't do that any more. I then called and was transferred to Derrick the online sales order manager to ask if they had one in stock. I called and left messages and he never called back until the next week after we received the replacement. He wanted to know if we got our dryer ok. I gave him an earful and demanded a $200 credit for all the angst and inconvenience. He said he got that approved and would send me an email which I never received! I tried calling and Home Depot won't answer their phone!!!!! This store should suffer penalties for their lack of customer service. I don't know how they stay in business! read more

The customer service is terrible. Last weekend we were forwarded to FIVE different "associates" before one of them even knew what we were wanting. The typical associate looks it up on her/his tablet and then directs us to where he/she thinks it might be. We must have tracked the length and breadth of the store four or five times. And we never did find what we needed. God forbid your employees actually come with us to help out. Why don't you try training your associates before putting them on the floor. Bought a Honda lawnmower on sale at HD last week. They did not mention that it will not run well at elevations above 5000 ' without changing the main jet in the carburetor, which is set for below 5000' from the factory. HD does not service the machines they sell and they do not stock the $35.00 part. Honda dealers stock it and will install it for $50.00 and it will probably take at least 2 weeks for them to fit you into their schedule. HD wants you to come in the door and they want to take your money, but they couldn't care less about customer service. Save your time & money and buy Honda machines at reputable dealers- Ted's Rental in Durango or go to Gem Village. read more

This store is unorganized and try's to short cut the customer. We purchased a $599 grill. We paid for one to be assembled and specifically told them that we did not want the floor model. We had to call them to find out if it was ready for pick up. When we arrived they had the scratched and dented floor model waiting for us. The attendant let us know that there was one on the shelf in a box, but that it would have to be assembled. Do people listen anymore?? Why did this business come to Durango????
