At least Home Depot believes in returns.

The delivery person did not ring the doorbell or knock on the front door. By the time I realized the arrangement was there, the roses and lilies were starting to turn brown and wilt. I called this business and spoke to a woman who was insistent that the delivery person did ring the bell and that the flowers could not be turning brown, (it was now two and a half hours after delivery) since it was now 40 degrees outside. I told her that I realized that this is a very busy time for florists, but that a doorbell or knock was needed and to please assure me in the future that this would happen. The woman hung up on me, but at 6 pm that day showed up at my front door, unannounced and again without any notification, wanting the flowers back. Offering subpar customer service and rudeness is not the way to run a successful business. Beyond disappointed in Blooming Flowers!

A few years ago I noticed that our snow blower just wasn't throwing snow far enough. The following October I arranged for a pickup, "minor parts replacement" and return, quoted at $125. I wasn't happy about the cost, but the blower had worked beautifully before this point. Knowing that Chestnut Mower gets very busy once the snows arrive, we made these arrangements long in advance of the snow season. They arrived the week before Thanksgiving, held the blower until early March, couldn't explain the delay and charged us $275. I was furious, but had few options. There weren't any more snows after March, so their repair work sat-- untested-- until the following December. The verdict: the blower worked much better before these idiots laid their hands upon it. It had to be replaced, after the first significant snowfall of the season, when supplies are limited and prices are inflated. Chestnut Mower knows how to sell. They're business-like and knowledgeable in selling mode, but opportunistic and inept in service mode. Be forewarned!

Returning to Emilio's over 30 years later and introducing our daughter to Liz and Emil was a special experience, and they welcomed her with the same warmth, respect, and courtesy that we remembered. Like many modern brides, our daughter arrived with inspiration from Instagram and Etsy for her table settings, bridal party bouquets, and ceremony arch. Liz and Emil took the time to listen to her ideas, offer their expertise, and bring her vision to life in a way that was even more beautiful than she imagined. Because the wedding ceremony was outdoors during the summer, they thoughtfully suggested a combination of silk and natural blooms for the outdoor setting and all fresh flowers for the indoor reception. Their recommendation was perfect for the environment while still creating the elegant look our daughter wanted. One of the most impressive pieces was the beautiful floral arrangement that draped across the top of the ceremony arch. It was designed with incredible attention to detail so that it could be easily removed after the ceremony and moved indoors, where it became a stunning focal point in front of the sweetheart table. This was a perfect example of their creativity and their commitment to creating arrangements that were both beautiful and practical. The compliments continued even after the wedding. When we returned to the venue the following day to pick up some of the items used at the reception, the wedding planner asked if we planned to take all 18 of the table centerpieces with us. She commented on how much she loved the elegant mix of blue and white tones. We happily gave her permission to keep whatever she wanted. Later, we learned that the venue had used the centerpieces to accent several tables and counters throughout their large main lobby and entrance area. We were incredibly proud to see the beauty and craftsmanship of Emilio's work appreciated in such a way. For a well-established private club to incorporate these pieces into their own décor is a true testament to the quality and artistry that goes into every arrangement. The flowers were absolutely beautiful, but the service we received was what truly made the experience unforgettable. Liz and Emil provided a level of personal attention, professionalism, and care that is rare to find. They made our daughter feel comfortable, respected, and confident throughout the entire process. Thank you, Liz and Emil, for helping make our daughter's wedding day so special and for being part of two of the most important celebrations in our family's life.
