I went there to buy some plumbing products, I couldn't find something, so I asked a young man for help, he was honest, he told me that he didn't know where anything was, so we asked a more experienced employee where these things were, this employee was in a gated off aisle and was quite a distance away and he wouldn't come closer so we had to shout back and forth, he ended up not being very helpful and was very condescending. I'm so tired of being in this store, and wandering around without finding any help. I get they are labeled as 'essential', but most of the employees are, well, somewhere. But, trying to find them is next to impossible. The best service I've gotten is from the returns / ship to store pickup. They are nice, helpful, and ready to help. After purchasing appliances and "paying in full" for $ 2,263.44 a month ago from inside the store. I was told my appliances arrive at store around Dec 27th 2019. Within a couple days I received a text saying part of my order had been canceled. (Didn't identify what.) I called back to the store and was told not to worry about it that it been an error and already reordered. I ask if it was going to effect the delivery date and was told that it should not. After delivery date passed and no contact from the store we contacted them again and was told delivery date changed to Jan. 10. This week we paid electrician to wire area for new appliances per delivery expectation. Today I called store to set up delivery from Iron Mountain to Escanaba and was told by first person I spoke with that appliances had been shipped by vender Dec 16 the but had not arrived at store yet. After speaking to Supervisor I was told that nothing had been shipped yet and the next tentative arrival to the store date is 01/27/2020. Couldn't tell me why. They are great at taking your money but don't expect any customer service beyond that point. read more

These employees are not only scarce but when you do find one they are condescending and make you feel like you're bothering their day. It's time to support small hardware stores again. I will never shop here again period. read more

if I could give it zero stars I would! Employees and help don't even seem to exist. and the few that are around have next to no knowledge of anything! after placing a $3000 order on lumber and having 75% of the lumber be wrong, the hardware be wrong, being charged incorrectly on items and having to spend hours with clueless staff trying to correct everything I'll never step foot in this dump again. Worst customer service Ive ever had anywhere. Went in for 30 - 40# bags of top soil tiday & needed assistance loading. Was told they would call someone. I needed a flatbed cart & was told to go look for one which was pretty much impossible as everyone was loaded with xmas boxes, supplies, ect. This store was not busy. I went to the service counter they told me to keep looking. I found a lumber cart & headed back to garden center 15 mins later, still no one to assist me. I not only had to load all 30 bags on the cart, I than had to take the. To my suv & unload them & that was after asking 2 more times. A guy finally showed up to load rhe last 5 bags. I asked what the issue was & he said that there were only young women working & loading was an issue for them....Seriously, Im a 64 yr old female.....if it wasnt bad enough, they didnt give me the dicounted price. I asked to speak to the manager, & they were conveniently unavailable. Its not the 1st time Ive had crappy service at Home Depot, but it will be my last. I will pay a higher price & go to Ace Hardware where there customer service could teach Home Depot a few things! read more

The employees at this store do not come from the trades like at other stores. They do not know much about the products they are selling. Not at all helpful. Online ordering system is total garbage. Order cancelled twice for no reason. PMO Update: Went to order in person and the lady at customer service was awesome. I don't have time to share all of the terrible experiences with this store, but I'll share a couple. I highly recommend that you use this place ONLY if you know exactly what you need, and it is in stock to take with you. A couple of the guys at the pro desk were absolutely awesome, and very knowledgeable but it's too bad they have such an incompetent operation backing them up. 1. Ordered appliances. Two people in the store couldn't quite figure out how to place the order. Their system showed a delivery date. The online store showed backordered for one (dryer) and a June 8th delivery for the other (a washer). Couldn't explain the discrepancy. SUGGESTED I CALL HOME DEPOT ONLINE! I went to the store thinking I'd shortcut the uncertainty of ordering online... lol. So I asked them if the backordered dates are normally good dates. Blank stares. They were a really good deal, so I decided to place the order. Mistake. I waited 3 weeks, and then the day before delivery I was notified both were now backordered for nearly an entire additional month. No explanation. No call. No assurance about the second date... HD is clueless. This is the opposite of service. So I'm cancelling the order and will pay a few hundred more to buy a similar set from a locally owned business. 2. Ordered all of the roofing materials and all new interior doors for my house. Everything was in stock, except for (2) of the doors. 3.5 weeks go by with no contact whatsoever. Apparently, the delivery to the store of the two doors kept getting pushed out but no one bothered to call and ask if I wanted or needed the rest of the order. I then requested that they deliver everything except for the doors that weren't received at the store yet. They told me they could not. (This was after two trips across the store because no one was at the pro desk and the cashier that is always posted there is unable to do anything but the basic cashier duties). I was about to ask for the store manager when another employee walked by and the guy I'm working with asked her. She listens, sighs, and says it's possible but it won't be easy. What the hell! This should not be a big deal! This should be the simplest of customer service requests! So anyway.... another 20 minutes of working in the computer and they are able to update the order and arrange delivery... I don't blame the employees, I blame the business. They make it very hard for their people to provide service and help customers. A+ to a few of the pro desk folks I've worked with who are very knowledgeable and helpful, the delivery driver was good too. One of the windows people was also very good. But I'm willing to pay more for decent service. I'm going back to the local stores, and if you value decent service, you should too. At this point I dread a trip to HD almost as mich as Walmart. read more
