I will never again order an online order at this location. I ordered 20 bags of topsoil to go. I got a text and email in the morning saying that my order was ready to go. I had pickup set for 2pm and when I got there they told me to drive around to the garden center. My order was not ready.. I wasn't in a rush so no biggie. The guy who got my order was an angry bird. It was about 25 minutes to get my order from start to finish. He wheeled over 10 bags on one cart, not saying a word to me. Im a disabled veteran with back issues and I guess he assumed I was going to load it up myself. When he came over with the 2nd cart he let out a loud sign of anger. He loaded up the first amount and I opened the doors to my back seats so he could load the rest in the backseat for me. He broke my rear dashcam and didn't say a word to me, so sorry no nothing. I forgot to put that part on my survey I got after the fact. He loaded up the back seta huffing and buffing. The kind of huffing and puffing as to say screw you, you should be doing this. People pay for pickup for different reasons. This is his JOB. if he doesn't like his job he should do something else. After he was done, he didn't close any doors, I said thank you and he didn't say a word to me. He wouldn't acknowledge me at any time during the transaction, just stormed off in a huffy. So I went on the website to order a chainlink gate from the Johnson City, TN Store. It said they had 3 in store so I ordered pickup. They canceled it within 5 minutes. I went back on and it said they had 23 in stock that could be delivered to the house today. They canceled that order also. Several hours later I searched the gates online again. 1st option was Doordash delivery from the exact same Home Depot. That doordash driver shopped for the gate and delivered it to me in 30 minutes. What a huge disappointment that the store isn't competent enough to pick their own product. We went to the store 2 weeks ago in person to look for the gate, but there were 4 employees with the aisle blocked off and leaned against the steel just chatting. My daughter and I bought a $800 wash machine and they gave us the date that it would deliver the time it would be delivered The driver called and said it would be around 9:00 PM and never showed up after Home Depot the next day, we got it delivered two days after that and they want to leave it on my side walk after I paid for the old gone and the new one in I wouldn't sign the delivery paper until they did their job they did not want to but they did anyway if you buy appliances from Home Depot make sure you have someone to go get it and deliver it and put it in because you'll never know if you're gonna get it or not, the delivery service is terrible read more

May 28, 2023, while shopping at home depot, Johnson City, Tn, An isle was blocked by a couple having a discussion. I stopped but was ignored by the couple. I went around their cart but by accident bumped their cart. The man cursed me, called me names. I called for a manager. Several employees and the manager did not ask the man to leave. The manager said he would " walk me to the door". I walked to the door by myself and will never return. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store since its opening. I am 79 years old. I was warned about the delivery service from the Johnson City store but they were the only store with the product I needed and I had to have it delivered. When I placed the online order, it said I could have it as soon as the next day. As soon as I paid for it, nope, 3 days away. Got notification it would be delivered today, the 4th delivery. That disappeared when I checked it later. Called Central Delivery Service number. They told me it was being loaded on the truck and I would have it first thing. It's now after 11:00 so I called the store. Nope, the first truck left, without my products, so now we are waiting on the second truck to arrive after 11:30 or so. ‍ Should have listened. Lowe's has the same item (verified with the model number) and when I tried to buy from Home Depot (due to Lowe's being sold out of the item), they refused to match Lowe's price. After looking for help for a hour went to pro services no one around but a girl she was on her phone for 10 min before she offer to help. Told her what I was needing she said she could not help, she told me to go to customer service and said they might be able to help me. Walk out went to lowes and got help buying what I needed in 15min and was on my way home. Will not go back to home depot, guess they need to send there employees to lowes for some training. I recently made a purchase with a gift card and needed to return it. I returned the item with a receipt and instead of receiving another gift card, I was given store credit today I returned to the store to make another purchase but because the item was not in stock I was not allowed to use the store credit. Firstly, not getting my return on the original form of payment is strange. Second, the store managers lack of concern that a customer was unhappy about a legitimate issue is disappointing. After I redeem the store credit for something I need in the future, I will not purchase from this or any other Home Depot again. We ordered a new Samsung refrigerator for one of our rental condos. I selected installation and old appliance haul-away at additional costs. In the description on the order I wrote that delivery would be to an upstairs condo and that the stairway was an interior stairway. After the delivery was rescheduled twice, they finally arrived. The installers/delivery guys told our tenant that they had no tools to install the refrigerator since it had an ice maker included. They also told our tenant that they knew nothing about hauling the old one away and that they couldn't carry the new refrigerator up the stairs. After I spoke with them on the phone, they finally agreed to haul the new one upstairs but refused to install the new one or carry the old one away. All of this despite all the details being spelled out plainly on the invoice and delivery ticket, which they sent me a copy off after our tenant signed for the delivery. Home Depot did refund the installation and haul away fees but I had to have someone install the new refrigerator and haul the old one off at a cost of 80.00. Making matters even worse, the Home Depot/third party delivery guys, dented the new refrigerator while bringing it upstairs. Never again will be purchase from Home Depot read more

I tend to come here more so than the other home improvement store not far from them. Sure, the other one is easier to get in and out of, but I tend to side with the underdog when it comes to... well... everything. Not to say Home Depot is a small mom and pop shop, but I hope you know what I mean. MOST of the time service here is awesome. Then other times like my most recent visit, I passed by at least a 7-8 employees and they just looked at me like I was some clueless dude walking around looking for 'Cobalt' tools (yes I know, you carry Husky). Well all ignored me except the young man who is usually working the register at the contractors end. He's always super cool. Oh! And they have a gas rewards program. Never knew that! I'm writing a review & haven't even received my product yet because I ordered a refrigerator from the Johnson City Tn store yet in the night, the "let's make this complicated elves switched the order to another state further away. Your choices for delivery are 1) outside, you can specify where at check out, no, you can't. At check out, nowhere to leave a note where. Then a choice is the porch & it says something else. Isn't your porch outside? So those choices are similar. Then a choice is threshold, is that ON the threshold, at the threshold on your porch, or over the threshold so your door won't close? Then a choice is installed, meaning set in place. Then a choice is installed & water. Meaning icemaker I presume. But it says water. That's the only one I understand. I get it costing more to hook up an icemaker. I'm happy to pay more to get it where I want it but the choices are almost like every 2" you pay a different amount. Happy to pay whatever but the choices are so confusing. I called to pay extra or whatever to get it to the porch. I reached corporate or HQ or ??? no idea where. I called the # on the receipt that says if you have ANY questions or changes or additions to your order, call here. They didn't help at all. They connected me to Hickory, NC. Not the store I ordered from. In a million years I won't order from Home Depot nor will I set foot in their stores. This isn't over & slim chance it will end well. My neighbor had to get 4 different refrigerators because the 3rd party delivery guys damaged every one mishandling them. I feel his pain. Go ANYWHERE other than HD. Best Buy had a MUCH clearer check out process & delivery was clear & concise. Their prices were the same on the merchandise. I should have ordered from them. MY MISTAKE! Home Depot used to be good. Not any more. I'm adding my neighbor's experience to mine as he had a nightmare time. Why did I still order after his? Because he ordered a massive refrigerator & I ordered a small one due to my space being smaller. Easier to deliver a smaller item. I didn't know they don't know TN from NC. Or that when they said it's coming from a warehouse not the store, that they were wrong. Small refrigerators come from the stores. They're confused. I also ordered a microwave but it was coming from the store so they couldn't deliver it from the warehouse so I had to cancel it. Now that the truth is it could have come, they can't add it because that's too difficult to sell 2 items to the same address. Seriously, a 5th grader could run this operation better. I'm sure I'll be back to add more. It's already been a nightmare & I just went online & bought 2 items, now 1, & it isn't even from the store I ordered it from. Just your typical home improvement store in a convenient location. It is right across the street from Lowe's so if they don't have what you need you can just go across the street to the other home improvement store. They do have Penske truck rental options here. The staff service here is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. On one occasion I had one worker complain to me about their day and the last time I was in here trying to get help the worker was literally on her phone in the middle of an aisle making plans for the weekend with someone on the other end. She was very pleasant after she got off the phone so it wasn't a terribly big deal just not very professional. I like to see people relaxed on the job but I think cell phone use should be used in the back or away from customers. Its that kind of stuff that I have witnessed at this particular store that leaves me sort of perplexed. read more

First of all I love going to Home Depot, but the older lady that works in lawn and garden is the rudest and most disrespectful customer service person I have ever met in my life. In a single breath she accused me of stealing pea gravel and counted my bags of gravel two or three times to make sure I told her the correct amount which was spot on and credit card fraud when all I wanted to do is buy my gravel and leave because I had already spent 15 mins or so in line because she had snide remarks and issues with EVERY customer in front of me(legit no exaggeration)... but NOOOO all because I had two Home Depot credit cards bc both were the same expiration date (identical cards) and wasn't sure which one was the new and old. Someone please give that woman early retirement so she can stop rubbing her misery off on us. I went to Johnson City, Tn Home Depot on 04/30/20. I wore my mask & when I entered store, no employee had mask, gloves or ant protection. Four were at door & talking & one told me that they would be closing in 30 minutes. I got my purchase & went to check out & noticed several employees & customers face to face talking. I decided to go through self checkout. I called back & spoke to manger & he informed me that it was not mandintory for them to wear mask nor gloves. I think Home Depot should think more about their employees & customers safety!!! read more

If I could leave negative stars, I would! My daughter purchased a home in September of 2020. She went to Home Depot and purchased all new replacement windows for the home. Due to Covid the windows were not installed until late November, which was fine. The day of installation one window was missing. Not sure why. Home Depot came out and measured all windows. It is now May 2021 and we still do not have the missing window. I cannot begin to tell you the time and phone calls that have been made in the last two months about this window. Every time we get another sad story about why HD couldn't come out or get the window installed. Beyond frustrated! read more

This store is the worst I have ever dealt with and I have been doing home improvement projects for years. I usually go to Lowes but Home Depot had their doors on sale and believe me, by using them I have paid the price over. I purchased a high end front door and sidelites. Home Depot encouraged me to let them measure als install because that way if something goes wrong THEY would be responsible ( now I laugh at that). ..the installer was the rudest person I've met (they let her go after my install). Long story short she installed the door wrong it has cracks you can see light outside and my AC is being lost because it's hot at the front door now. Home Depot insisted it was the door and sent a second installer out. He said "you need a whole new door." Home Depot still fought me for 5 months (it took that long to get someone to call me back at the store, I even went there) that it was the door manufactures problem (Masonite). So Madonite sent one of their best out. He tried to fix the cracks then it showed all the unevenness of the door because now it won't shut unless you pull up on it. Masonite said it's the door installation thay is messed up not the door. So I call Home Depot they will not consider it being the door and still refuse to do this all over! If it were Lowes I would have a new install already and be done! BTW the Masonite guy said this is typical with Home Depot! Never ever deal with this bunch it's been nothing but a headache and high electric Bill's they have caused! Still do not have a new door and sidelites!!!! read more

I purchased carpet from my local Home Depot on September 14. An employee came and measured and gave me an estimate. I paid for the installation and carpet on September 19 to be installed on October 3-4. I received several emails with confirmation and tips to clear my house before the installers came. On October 3rd, I cleared my schedule, took off work and waited for installers who never showed up. They called and said they were running behind and over scheduled for the day. They would be at my house on the 4th. 1 day wasted! The next morning, I again cleared my schedule, took off work and waited. When the installers did not show up, I called my local Home Depot, who sent me to another department, who directed me to call Romanoff Flooring directly. This started my day of making several phone calls, with random employees who all had different excuses for why my installers were not at my house doing the job. Finally at 2 pm, one installer came, looked around my house and said there was no way he could do this job himself. He left to find help, and returned at 7pm to tell me he could not. Day 2 wasted! I was called at 8pm by Ginger from Romanoff Flooring, who stated that 2 installers would be at my house at 8am and they would get the job completed. On October 5, my house is still completely torn apart, beds disassembled, shelves cleared, items boxed up, etc. I cleared my families schedule for Saturday and we waited. At 10:15, 2 installers finally showed up and finally began working. Around 2pm a 3rd installer joined them and they all worked until 7. They finished 2 bedrooms and a hallway and placed the furniture back in the kid's bedrooms, so that they at least had a place to sleep. They promised to come back Monday morning, October 7 to complete the job. It is now October 7 at 9:30am and I am still waiting. I have once again cleared my schedule and taken a day off of work. M This was supposed to be a 2 day inconvenience and now it has turned into a 5 day nightmare! read more

Learn to utilize the HD app to find what you're looking for, and don't go during the day. The associates get a spooked look in their eye if you look like you're going to ask them for any help. Experienced extremely disappointing situation while spending over $1400 for washer and dryer. Was told appliances were available for delivery and turned out to be on backorder for over a month. They didn't seem to care that I needed clean clothes. I called the Johnson City store, which just made things worse. I eventually went to Johnson City Lowe's. Their parking lot was packed solid around noon on a friday. The staff was super friendly and they went out of their way to take care of our order. Got our washer and dryer the next day from Lowe's. It took me forever to get my $1400 (+) purchase refunded from Home Depot. Outside of the this area Home Depot works hard for customer satisfaction. Here, not so much.
