This is a decent Home Depot. It is located off the main drag of S. Florida, tucked back behind trees and you really cannot see the store from the road. The parking lot is smallish and has plenty of handicapped spaces, along with Purple Heart parking for Combat Veterans and other similar spaces. Now they have lost a large portion of the parking lot to the Christmas Tree Tent. The store itself is not very large, but has an average selection of stock. The employees are polite. I have noticed that the stock keeps getting rearranged and there is a definite lag time before the signs follow, so you do have to constantly ask where the items have moved to. My biggest beef is the customers they attract. I guess I'm used to Home Depots that attracted businesses with semi-professional acting customers. This particular one attracts bored elderly people who have nothing else better to do than to get into arguments with each other. Just yesterday, a group of us were trapped in the parking lot by two men in their 80s or 90s screaming obscenities because they wanted a particular parking spot. (This was NOT the first time this has happened to me there.) Honestly, this could be the best Home Depot in the world and it just wouldn't be worth going to with that kind of hassle. read more

When i went to check out my WHOLE PERSPECTIVE CHANGED. NIVA the lady with the red hair at checkout was super unprofessional, super rude and a Liar, didn't apply the coupons first of all, double scanned some items, didn't let me check out and she was a total mess, thankfully a young guy helped and checkout with him was flawless. Niva made it super uncomfortable and she should get terminated and never find a job in customer service ever again she deserves it to be working with trash because that is what she is of a human, made us seem like CRIMINALS, when we were just a couple that were happily shopping for things for the new house we thankfully got, NIVA should NOT work there please get her removed. read more

Worst home delivery ever!!!! I'd a refrigerator delivered. Had crew argue about water line, door width, refrigerator haul away. Spoke with supervisor three times(!) while crew was here. Paid $50 to haul away old unit (fight #2 with boss). The crew didn't want to haul away, wanted to leave broken refrigerator in middle of kitchen! Crew fought over me not being satisfied leaving old fridge in garage for 3 days, wouldn't reverse swing on doors. Took off without me signing paperwork, raced down street with me chasing them. They hire a third party to install that doesn't show up when they are supposed to. I left work early to make this appointment that was already rescheduled due to the hurricane which is understandable. However we had to reach out to reschedule no one called after the storm to do so. They gave us a window from 2-6 and marked as missed without coming to my home. I called and called and no one was willing to help or fix the situation. They kept transferring me to another person each time as unwilling to help as the next. This was the worst, most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a company. The supervisor was rude and combative on the phone from the Lakeland store. After this experience I will take my business else where and I suggest if others do the same. read more

Madelyn was so rude. Never experienced such an unwelcoming glare from a cashier when we rolled up to her line with 9 2x6s and 12 2x4s stacked neatly. Barcode wouldn't scan on 2x6s so she made my husband go back and look twice. She was so unhelpful, I asked her to try to scan my coupon again and she said, "you can boss him around, but you're not going to boss me around". I went back in to speak to store manager and he was shocked she made that comment, but other than that non-apologetic. Left voicemail for district manager. I wish we would have looked at yelp before we stopped here on our way home. I'm glad this isn't our local Home Depot. read more

Went into the Lakeland store on April 20th and bought a washer and dryer. I was assured that they were available but the first delivery date available was May 14th. Received an automated phone call from Home Depot on May 13th informing me of delivery time on the 14th. Received another automated call later in the day from the delivery company informing me that washer and dryer were not available for delivery and new delivery date would be May 28th. Called the Lakeland store and after several attempts at finding someone to help me with this situation, was told I would have to call back in the morning. Was informed on the 14th that items were not available and was not guaranteed they would be available on the 28th. Very poor customer service and run around, they did offer to take $100 of the price, probably spent that at laundry mat. Ordered from Bestbuy later that day and items were delivered the next day. To say I'm disgusted is an severe understatement... I placed an order at 3:30 pm, in person, for a dishwasher... it's taken me more than 8 hours to correct the errors made by the young woman who "helped" me at this location. My original order for delivery was incorrectly addressed, tho I repeated all information multiple times. When I received the completed order by text and tried to correct her errors, I made no less than 3 calls trying to correct her errors. After 8 hours on the phone, I have finally been able to cancel the original order and finally received confirmation that the correct order and delivery will be accomplished. Had it not been for the woman in Arizona I was FINALLY connected with (Margaret Humpherys), I would not have been able to complete this transaction. I am a registered nurse moving to this community to help during this crisis...Ms. Humpherys, Suntrust Bank (Ms Claretha Conner), and my State Farm agent (Jared Faniel), have all been tremendously helpful (my new home flooded the night before my movers arrived). I just got a survey request. Interestingly, I was cut off before I could complete it. It was certainly negative.... dishwasher was delivered, it doesn't work... get an "error code"... installation not correct.... I paid for installation and it will be 3 days before an "installation inspector" comes out. Never again will I step into this store. read more

This used to be "our" Home Depot before one was built closer to us. We spent countless hours here picking up stuff for our home. Now we only shop here when we are in the 'hood. Today we found what we needed and were on our way quickly. The place was not busy at all, either because of the economy or because Sunday was drawing to a close and the weekend warriors had come and gone. Complete waste of time. I drove to store the purchase DCS354B Dewalt tool. Seeing online that they should 15 in stock I didn't really for see a problem. I'm not finding anywhere they were supposed to be I found an associate and asked if he was able to help. He explained that somebody else had previously asked and he was unable to locate them and stated they were probably sitting on a pallet somewhere. I asked so what am I supposed to do just go somewhere else? His reply was unfortunately yes I cannot help you. It is worth saying he never bothered to look at his little scanner to see if they were located at another location or even ask anybody else. Guess I'll just buy it on Amazon and have it delivered tomorrow. read more

It's a nice clean, organized place to get DIY stuff. Only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is there are never enough employees to answer questions... when you get one, their really good... Aren't all Home Depots the same? I've been to many different stores in different cities and states and they all look exactly the same. Maybe there's some nuances I'm missing, but for the most part they're cookie cutter. I'm sure there are some Home Depot connoisseurs out there but I'm not on of them. Anyway, I've only been here a few times and it was always pleasant. I'm shocked this location only averages a 2 star rating (those seem to be revenge reviews anyway). I've always found what I need by myself. It'd be nice if the clerks were a little more helpful, though. Their Clerks aren't as cheery and helpful here as they seem in the commercials. Hell, Publix has friendlier, more pro-active clerks than HD. But every employee I've ever talked to has been nice and helpful, just not proactive. The store itself always seems clean, well-organized, the right temperature, etc. Lines are never that long and they even have the self checkout registers too. I had to return something once and even that line was short and quick. I will say it can be a bit of a PITA trying to enter and exit depending on where you're coming from and where you're headed, but it could be worse. Also, the store is located behind a little forest so you can't even see it from the road. In conclusion, this is a fine HD and it's not too far from my house which makes it convenient. read more

We just had a crappy experience with the kitchen cabinet dept. We had a scheduled appt with a designer but weren't informed that we had needed to have someone come to the house to measure prior to the appt. The woman stared at us with a blank look on her face for extended periods of time offering no explanation, ideas or troubleshooting for how we could potentially resolve the situation. And this was after blocking off the two hours they scheduled us in the middle of the day. If this woman has an issue with social interactions that impede her functioning I apologize for this post, if not Home Depot needs to address their hiring process. read more

I bought my drill there black friday-I used it 3 weeks.then 30 days later I used it again. The fan blade disentigraded and peppered my face and cut my nose.that afternoon I took it to the store on (jan 17,2017).Instead of giving me a new drill,they decided to repair it.45 days later they called and said it was repaired.no one said they were sorry or offered to make it right.I had to buy another drill,because they kept it to long.I hope i never have to go back to that store. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE. Yesterday I rented a machine to snake my main sewage line. I got the machine home and got ready to use it realizing I did not have one of the accessory end pieces not the bolt/ nut to hold the others in place. I called the store to which Miguel who rented me the equipment insisted it was on there when I left. I said if it was there it isn't now and if it had been properly installed it would still be there. When I arrived to the store to pick up the replacement he informed me they would charge me extra for this. He then proceeded to try and give me the wrong screw. I pointed out that screw would not work. He finally realized what he had done wrong and acknowledged it was not my fault the part had come off. He put a note in the system not to charge me for the part and that my time would be extended to 4 hours from when I picked up the part. I asked how the 4 hours worked as I initially intended to bring the machine back that night but with this set back I know it would have to be the next day. I asked if it was back by 11:30 the next day if it was within my 4 hours. He said yes and showed me where he put in the notes that I would be given additional time. When I returned with the machine today at 11:20 they informed me I would be charge for a full day. I explained the situation to which they pointed to the contract that stated it should be returned by 9am. I had ignored the original contract since noted had been put in the system and I had clarified with the associate. The supervisor for the department just told me I should read a contract before I sign it and that she would not honor what the employee had told me. I guarantee this would have gone very differently at Lowe's. I am sure I would have had all of the pieces correctly assembled at Lowe's , I would not have been accused of stealing or losing anything, I would not have had to return to the store for their mistake, I would not have had an employee tell me incorrect information and I would not have had a rude manager refuse to rectify the situation and honor the employees word. I will NEVER shop at Home Depot again. Not just this store but any store. Update: they have reduced my rate to the originally agreed upon price. Thank you assistant manager Brad. My dad purchased a washing machine here 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. He had it deliver since they don't have the product at the store and he missed to be home when the vendor deliver the item. We called to have it redeliver and was told they cannot, so the item would be returned to home depo and refund tobe made to our account. Today is December 8 and we yet to see our refund.. I called many times (5x) and was told that they r waiting to have the item scan back into the system before refund is make. The ref kept telling us different date that the refund would be done but nothing has happened. This is the worse service i had ever experience. I have been to this Home Depot about 15 times since moving to Lakeland. I have had some great experiences and some not so great experiences. I went to look for an air filter that was 20x25x2. I assumed they had it because they have a whole wall of air filters. They only carry 20x25x1, so I had to purchase that one for now and wait for the correct one to come on the mail from homedepot.com. To the stores credit, the website did state that it was not carried in the store, just would have been nice for them to have a box, lol. I went another time to look for grout sealer for my tile floor. I was new to the homeowners responsibilities and had to make sure I was doing things right. I found the aisle with the sealer, but did not know which one to choose or the quantity I would need for my house. I asked for assistance from an employee walking by. That employee stated she would get the "grout and tile specialist" over to help me. I waited about 5 minutes and a female employee came over. I explained what I needed and the square footage of my home. She just looked at the shelves and said any of them would work. She then pulled each one down while staring at them in confusion. She then pointed to the only 3 that were actually grout sealers and said they are good. I started to get frustrated because there was a large price difference. I asked about the small, medium, or large container for the size. She said that it was my choice. I finally just said thank you and just bought the large expensive one for close to $100. Needless to say, I sealed my grout and have 80% of the bottle left now. I went back a week later and saw she was a multi award winning associate and has been there for over 2.5 years. I hope those were not for tile or grout knowledge. Another time I went to buy about 15 sets of blinds for my house. I gave the associate all my measurements and he started to stack my blinds up by the machine at an extremely slow pace. He then did not know how to turn the machine on or how to operate it. He then admitted to me after 10 minutes of trying that he was new to the department. He called over another associate who started helping him and showed him what to do, but was doing it on every blind while watching and coaching him through it. I understand OJT, but on 15 blinds with the same customer just standing there? I was waiting for over 40 minutes and decided to cut my order in half and come back at a different time. Thankfully a more experienced associate was there the 2nd time and got me in and out. read more

Veterans Beware! My husband, who is a Vietnam era Navy veteran, and I went to this Home Depot today to purchase some items we needed. At checkout, my husband handed the cashier his veterans ID card so we could take advantage of Home Depot's 10% veterans discount, as he has done many times before. Today, the cashier said Home Depot won't accept a veterans ID card unless the words "service connected" are on the card located underneath the veterans picture. The cashier went as far as showing us a blow up of a sample veterans ID card that shows the employees what to look for. Any veteran is "service connected" if they've served in the military. Veteran ID cards are not handed out lightly. A veteran must physically go to the Veterans Administration (VA) in order to get this card. Because my husband had come across this situation before at another Home Depot in Tennessee who refused to honor his veterans ID card because it didn't say "service connected", he went back to the VA in August 2015 to have his card updated. Again, his ID card does not say "service connected". Why is Home Depot making this so difficult for veterans who have honorably served our country? We never have a problem at Lowe's, so guess where we'll be shopping going forward? On another note, Home Depot is notorious for dismissing women customers. I have frequented Home Depot many times for my own projects only to be ignored or treated with less enthusiasm than what men receive. And this is how they treat their women employees as well since I only ever see women employees at the cash register and not on the floor. read more

The Home Depot have the absolute rudest staff. A cashier refused to assist, spoke down to my elderly mother, gave horrid attitude, and entered my personal space when I asked her to be respectful to my mother as though she was stepping to me. Once another staff member came over, the rude staff member was continually rude to my mother and I and was just as rude to the other staff. I asked to speak to a manager immediately and she blew up at me while swinging her arms. I actually had to ask a Home Depot staff member to back away from me! Who acts like this? Once a manager came over, she had to finish the job we had asked about in the first place which was simply getting play sand. The manager then had a issue with a completely different staff member refusing to get the sand for her. The whole experience was absurd. After the fact, the Manager said to file a complaint online about the situation and state what store and what employees, but yet, the online system will not complete my request after filing out the form. We won't be shopping at this store again. Dissatisfied is not a strong enough word. read more

I totally agree with the comments about veterans ID cards. When I went to purchase an item at Home Depot and asked for the veteran 10% discount it was denied because they would not except the identification I presented which clearly identifies me as a veteran. I offered the form DD 14 which is nationally recognized as proof of service but they would only except their form of ID which they have adopted. It is clear to me they are not interested in veterans. As a result I now do all my shopping at Lowe's. read more
