Heather at the Home Depot Southkeys was such a big help to us on the weekend. She went beyond the normal. She is such an asset to the store.

The service is pretty good and the store layout is easy to navigate. You can always find great deals and clearance items.

It is hard not to find anything at HomeSense that is not priced reasonably. Like other reviewers have mentioned, since it is located on Merivale Road, it should be avoided on the weekends. Not only that but avoid this location on Monday's as well, the stock is usually low, and the store is left with all the "left overs" from the weekend, that did not sale. Usually give it a day or two for the staff to load up the shelves with new goodies after their weekend rush. Best time to shop is Tuesday-Friday in the evening or morning. Don't forget, interior decorators get a discount at HomeSense!!

Minus the drive on Merivale the trip to Homesense was pretty good. This Homesense is massive! There are a lot of items at this store and like most Homesense's the stock changes weekly. There were a lot of items for the house, some nice, some awfully hard to look at! The good thing about this Homesense is that there are a lot of items for pretty reasonable prices. I'd recommend going on a weekday as Merivale seemed like a zoo today and I hear it's like that on weekends.

I have a very special place in my heart for The Bay (it will forever be The Bay to me despite their…read morerecent-ish rebranding to "The Hudson's Bay") as it is the last standing department store from my childhood. Over the years, I have watched them all shutter, Simpsons, then Eaton's, then Sears. Even the discount department stores like Kresge, Woolco, Towers and Zellers, all gone. Only The Bay remains. Anyone remember The Bay Scratch and Save Days? Lol. Totally dating myself, haha. Anyway, The Bay is a department store with some higher end items and some more affordable items. Some of the flagship stores in larger cities like Toronto and Montreal have luxury items, but not the ones in Ottawa. This location at the Rideau Centre has a nicer selection than the locations at St. Laurent Shopping Centre or Bayshore Shopping Centre. This location also has a Forever 21 section (Forever 21 pulled out of the Canadian market a few years ago, so there are no free-standing brick and mortar stores in Canada, but their items can be found at select The Bay stores). It's where the Topshop section used to be before Topshop pulled out of Canada completely. This location has an optical that sells prescription glasses and contact lenses. There's also a Sunglasses Hut inside this The Bay location. There's also a hair salon called Hair Republic on the second floor, as well as a cafe on the main floor called Market X, but it is independently run, and the prices are high, it's not like the cafeteria that was at The Bay in downtown Toronto from days past (like 20 years ago, lol) that had affordable hearty meals for the downtown office workers, and the kids working a summer job downtown, like I was. Everything is vegan at Market X and it caters to the environmentally conscious well-heeled customer. Market X is where the Lindor Shop was before they closed. I like the mix of items available at The Bay. They sell lots of Canadiana, which make great souvenirs for tourists. They sell State and Main items, who doesn't want some Ketchup Chips socks and Poutine Christmas ornaments, right? Lol. This The Bay is actually across the street from The Rideau Centre, but it's connected by the bridge on the third floor. Street parking or paid parking lot parking only. No private free parking lot like at Bayshore or St. Laurent malls.

I had a good chat with a woman in the HUE leggings section. I was wearing a pair of corduroy ones. I was literally a walking example of how comfortable they were and are. The Bay is a store that I used to frequent when I first joined the workforce. It gave me a $500 credit card and I managed to get a decent wardrobe for my business office attire. I also learned that it's a ripoff getting a departmental store credit card where interest rates go through the roof. I eventually paid it off and cancelled it. Anyway, The Bay had pretty good deals on Saturdays. I don't know if that's the case these days. I would buy items that are on sale rather than buy them at full price. This store had a nice selection of size 11 shoes. Some were quirky, such as lemon slip-on sneakers and Doc Martens with embroidered flowers on them. I like browsing around in this store, looking at women's clothing, cookware, and more. I recommend waiting for a sale, as some items are more expensive than they should be. (247)

Subject: Formal Complaint - Order Delivered to Wrong Address and Refusal to Refund or Replace…read more I am writing to express my extreme disappointment regarding the handling of a recent Walmart online grocery order. My family has been a loyal Walmart customer for many years. Last week, we placed a grocery order that was marked as delivered at 6:19 AM on Wednesday, June 3. However, the order was not delivered to our address. The delivery photo provided by the driver clearly shows that the groceries were left at a completely different residence. Upon discovering the issue, my wife immediately contacted Walmart Customer Service. Rather than resolving the problem, we received the following response: "After careful review of your account(s) history, we've determined your account is in violation of our Terms of Use with respect to our returns service. As a result, we closed your account. You may continue to purchase directly from your local Walmart store." This response is both shocking and unacceptable. Walmart's driver delivered the order to the wrong address, yet Walmart has chosen to treat us as though we are at fault. We have neither received the groceries we paid for nor a refund of our money. As a result, our family has been without the groceries we purchased for over a week while Walmart continues to retain our funds. At a time when the cost of food is placing significant strain on Canadian families, it is deeply troubling that a company of Walmart's size would refuse to correct an obvious delivery error. The delivery photo itself demonstrates that the order was not delivered to our home. This is not a disputed delivery--it is a documented delivery mistake. Despite this evidence, Walmart has refused to escalate the matter, issue a refund, or arrange for a replacement delivery. I am requesting that Walmart immediately review this case, acknowledge the delivery error, and provide either: A full refund for the undelivered order; or A replacement order delivered to the correct address. I also request that this matter be escalated to a manager or Executive Customer Relations team for review. Customers should not be held responsible for mistakes made by Walmart's delivery service. I expect Walmart to do the right thing and resolve this matter without further delay. Sincerely, Chantale Portelance We have filed with consumer protection and involved CTV Ottawa consumer alerts
