Don't buy appliances from Home Depot! They train their salesman to take advantage of customers because even if you tell them you don't want certain features, they include them so you end up paying more and don't realize it until they are delivered by some very incompetent delivery people! We just moved to this area about 2 months ago and this store became our primary go to place for home improvement. Everyone was nice and helpful. The only reason for the four stars is because the store is not as well equipped as other HomeDepots I've been to, which is totally understandable since we are in a small town. read more

I shop at this Home Depot pretty regularly and I'm always surprised at how unfamiliar the employees are with the products available in the store. I don't trust their input when I am asking questions. My husband and I were shopping for a patio umbrella. We found a young man to help us and he did the best he could but we had to tell him that the umbrella could only be ordered online. We went to the service desk to order it and I didn't have a pen so I hadn't written the product number down. The worker handed ME the pen and told me to go write down the product number. Rude, unhelpful employees. I went there looking for one round stepping stone and maybe some flowers. I wandered around the garden center and encountered employees who didn't even smile at me, say hello or ask if they could help me. One female employee was talking on her cell phone. I asked the cashier at the register where to find the stepping stones, but still couldn't locate them. I put the flowers back I had planned to purchase and I will never shop there again. read more

Horrible. Associates are extremely rude and don't know how to work with people. Store is great and is a better alternative than other hardware stores, but the irritating associates is something it needs to work on. I'd rather have no one help, than have to deal with these people. read more

We live 30 minutes away from the nearest harware supply store and my husband went to Home Depot in Peoria and as he was loading his supplies onto the cart, his back gave out as he struggled to get his items onto the cart, he notices and employee less than 5ft away just watching him, never offering assistance. At the same time, another employee walks in the door to report to his shift. Still with his lunch in his hand and having not clocked in yet, he put his lunch down and immediately helped my husband with his load. I would like to thank that employee! You are the face of customer service and the ONLY reason why I will come back to your store! :) However, the fact that the other employee just stood there and refused to help is dishearting and makes me not want to go back to this store. It just shows how one employees lack of customer service can ruin a business. Please train and re-train all of your employees what customer service really means! read more

I would have driven 50 minutes to get the item I needed 20 bags of mulch. However I tried 5 different times to reached the garden center tings then it's as if someone picks up then hangs up. Talked to someone in building supplies the transferred me then I was promptly disconnected. I will seek stores closer from now on for my purchases. My husband and I packed up our three small children (with their Kindles, snacks, etc--we were READY!) and took a trip to this Home Depot to get started on our kitchen remodel. It was a rainy Saturday and the store was quiet. We made our way through flooring and backsplashes discussing what we liked, what we didn't, taking down prices, etc. We then went to cabinets and appliances. Looked at displays, samples, idea books, appliance features, etc. I took our son to the bathroom. My husband took a trip back to the truck to grab measurements. We were there A LONG TIME. All the while making lists of prices and item numbers. Finally we decided we wanted to talk with the cabinet associate about getting some rough numbers and ideas about what we could do with our space. We wandered probably 10 minutes and never found an associate. My husband called the front desk with his cell phone. The first time no one ever did answer. The second time we were put on hold while they called over the speaker several times for the associate (Adam Pratt). Finally a manager came back and rudely asked what we wanted and claimed Adam was at lunch then contradicted himself and said Adam didn't get a lunch because he wasn't there long enough that day. The manager acted like we were an inconvenience. And let's just mention there was no one working in appliances either. Wouldn't you as a manager see this as a red flag? Two of your most expensive departments not manned? I chatted with an older woman that said her refrigerator had stopped working and she need a new one ASAP. She came and left in this time.... How many missed sales?! Anyways...finally Adam was found. He rudely asked what we wanted. We told him we wanted to talk about options and get a rough estimate. He told us no, that wasn't his job. He wouldn't consider doing anything until Home Depot came to our house and measured. It would be a waste of his time. My husband asked why we couldn't get a rough estimate and he hesitated and asked what we liked. We told him we liked the one display and pointed to a 8-10 foot section of display. He said "I'll tell you right now that display is $12,000 so.....yeah, you don't want it". This made me seriously mad...how does he know what we do and don't want? Back up 9 years...my husband and I remodeled our first house, gutted a kitchen and sat down with associate Jim in that same cabinet department. Spent thousands on cabinets, countertops, appliances, and materials at that very same Home Depot. This is NOT our first rodeo. We know it's not cheap. And not once did a Home Depot employee set foot in our home then. People were helpful. And we got just what we wanted. I felt like this lazy Home Depot associate didn't want to deal with us. I feel like he told us what we could and couldn't afford by looking at a young family and assuming. And worst of all I think the manager was aware associates weren't doing their jobs and he was okay with it. It's three days later and I'm still hot! My husband took off work. My 2, 4, and 6 year old sat silently in a cart for over 2 hours (they rocked it!). We were willing to spend a chunk of money we've been saving for this project for awhile. And Home Depot basically told us we weren't worth their time. I feel like I wasted precious time by writing down those item numbers we liked...because obviously we aren't welcome at Home Depot. I was in the market for some new windows this summer, and I had called a few places to get some estimates. Window World was prompt, as was Lowe's. Home Depot scheduled my estimate out for 2 months from the day I called. Really. I shrugged it off and made the appointment anyway. After a few days, I decided that was ridiculous and called back to get a closer time. This time, they had availability for an estimate the following week. So I took off work, and waited. Nobody came, and no phone call. I called Home Depot and asked to speak with a manager and told him what happened. He said he would make sure it didn't happen again. Except it did. 4 more times, with the final no-show on the day of my original appointment. That's 5 no-shows for a sale that could've bagged them $15k in sales. The last time I spoke with the manager, he said he couldn't blame me. Nice guys, just without any responsibility. Lowe's got the sale, and I'm very happy with my new windows! read more

No surprises if you are familiar with Home Depot. The only exceptional feature for me is proximity. I can get here in less than five minutes from the time at which I realize I have forgotten something I need for the project on which I am working. This convenience has led to my project planning getting sloppy. Oh well. Also, the store has WiFi which is cool for those of us without smart phones. read more

I was very impressed with every person I met. They must have had some major customer service training and/or added new employees since the other reviews. I did not experience any of the negative things previously listed here. Everyone was most helpful especially Jeff in appliances. I had the misfortune of my stove literally give out. So, after researching the internet I decided on a few possibilities and Home Depot had the best deal. I called the Peoria store and was transferred several time as well as put on hold for close to 25 minutes. I must say I was beginning to become irritated. Then, a kind man by the name of Jeff in Appliances answered and was extremely helpful, kind, considerate, knowledgeable and understanding. He took the time to explain things and even called the delivery guys and made sure of the day that the appliance would be delivered and then called me back to complete the transaction. I hope to add some other appliances to our kitchen in the near future and as long as Jeff is there I will be talking to him about making that possible. THANKS JEFF!!!
