We have recently had 2 great experiences at this Home Depot location. All of the staff is very kind from our experiences. 1. My husband rented a pick up truck from them to transport some wall paneling. The customer service was top notch and the rental was very reasonably priced. 2. During the previous experience, my husband purchased some paint. When I sampled it on the wall, it was completely different than what I thought it would be. We took the tinted paint back and the paint team member, Steve (I think), was so kind. He let us pick a new color and did an even exchange, no questions asked. Please note: this was an online/national order, but fulfillment and installation were handled locally, which is why I'm posting this here. The appliance manager in East Liberty was actually the most helpful person involved. Bottom line: three failed deliveries, two failed installation attempts, nearly five hours on the phone, property damage by one install team, and I still do not have a working washer. Please avoid appliance delivery and installation services from Home Depot. Update: I ordered the same exact washer dryer combo unit from Don's Appliances. They arrived in their scheduled window, removed the old units, and installed the units in one visit over 53 minutes all without a single issue. The core issue is that Home Depot is unable to properly coordinate purchases, deliveries, and installation requirements. In addition, there are numerous installation restrictions that are not disclosed upfront and can only be discovered through trial and error. First failed installation: I was never informed that a stacking kit was required when I purchased the washer and dryer. As a result, the first installation failed. The kit was out of stock at Home Depot, and I offered to purchase one elsewhere. Only after doing so was I told it had to be purchased through Home Depot. When I ordered the kit through Home Depot, it was scheduled for a different delivery date, I was not told a signature was required, and no delivery window was provided--so I missed the delivery entirely. I then spent over an hour coordinating to have the stacking kit delivered with the rescheduled installation and was assured it would be included. Second failed installation: The installers arrived without the stacking kit and claimed it was not in the warehouse. The installation also failed because the included 3-foot hoses were too short. I was not allowed to use my existing 6-foot hoses--even though they were purchased from Home Depot. Despite not being able to complete the installation, the crew unplugged my existing washer and left the plug in an unreachable location, leaving me without a functioning machine. I was then told that a full installation was not possible because a 6-foot hose could not be added to the order, yet they still wanted to schedule a third partial installation. Additional issues: - First install crew arrived two hours early, forcing me to leave work unexpectedly - Units were marked as "delivered" despite never being brought into the home - A rescheduled installation was cancelled without any notification At this point, I've lost work time, dealt with repeated failures, and still do not have functioning laundry equipment. This experience reflects serious breakdowns in communication, logistics, and accountability between Home Depot and their third-party installers. I strongly recommend avoiding Home Deport delivery and installation services. Update: Following the failed installation, the installers shut off the water valves and left my washer in a non-functional state. The machine is now stuck attempting to drain without proper water access, leaving me with a completely unusable appliance. This goes beyond scheduling and coordination issues--my existing, working equipment was left in worse condition than before the service attempt. At this point, this is not just a service failure but a lack of accountability for damage caused during the installation process. Update: They're request to "make this right" takes you to general technical / customer support. They are not committed to making this right. read more

Had 3 delivery's cancelled by HD . Ended up not getting sale prices . 1 order was 400 and I waited 12 hours for it to only find out the next day it was cancelled by them . I've tried over the years to work with this company but there's little to no customer services. I hear they may be going out of business And I will celebrate the day because of all my experiences at the boardman Ohio store. read more

Most of the employees are clueless. -- Maintaining their ego and not wanting to admit their ignorance will have a lasting, perhaps negative, impact on customers' decisions for their living space. Despite this, I gave this Home Depot three stars because (1) the things that we need are in stock, and (2) there is one individual who is kind, knows what he is talking about, and has experience in his specialty. I completely understand how this location got its 2 1/2 star rating I go to many Home Depot's because of my line of work. Every one of them has polite, helpful associates, except for the one in East liberty. My dissatisfaction with this location happen again today I asked an associate to help me locate a simple item. He proceeds to tell me he doesn't know where it is. I asked him if he could find out and he actually said no I'm busy. . I then asked him if I could speak to the manager he called some person over who was standing nearby saying that was his manager clearly it was not. I heard him say to her that white dude over there wants to talk to you. Not sure what my skin color has to do with it except maybe that's the attitude people have towards people like myself. Many of the difficulties at this location derive from Home Depot more broadly (awful company) but this store is unusually bad even for Home Depot when it comes to customer service, doing something as basic as getting orders right, offering redress for errors that the store itself makes, et cetera. There are some nice and competent people who work here (I've gotten to know them) but the store itself is pretty hopeless. I am a fan of Home Depot in general. If I know what I need and can go in and out there is never a problem. My problem with most Home Depot stores is when you need help???? If you need help in most stores you are better off leaving as help is not bound to show up any time soon. I have to say I was unexpectedly surprised at this particular location. I needed a few items but I needed help and I was in the area so that is why I went to this store. I figured I would be wasting my time but I was in the area any way so I decided to give it a shot. *****WOW**** I went to 3 separate departments to get the things I was trying to get and what do you know but there where actually reps in the isles that could help. Yes in all 3 departments there where customer service reps that where eager to help and show me where items where an what I needed. This was a first for me as unless I know exactly what I want I don't go to home depot any more as I said you can never get help. I highly recommend this location and this location only as so far to my experience the other 3 stores I have visited in Pittsburgh had no help to speak of. We recently bought a Weber grill from Home Depot. We asked for the grill to be delivered and we were beyond impressed with the professionalism shown by Dorn and Frank! The delivery was on time, Dorn called ahead to make sure we knew they were on their way, and great care was taken during the actual delivery! These two employees went above and beyond! These guys don't know up from down and it's really starting to aggitate me. I've been here several times and the few times I did take the advice from various employees, I was steered in the wrong direction. You would think the people who might work at these locations, might know a little bit about the departments they work in, WRONG. My recent visit here, I was advised to buy the wrong material to finish a flooring job. The time before that, the wrong stuff for something plumbing related I was working on. I have stopped going to this store and drive out of my way, to Pgh Mills, to go to Lowe's instead. This particular Home Depot is unorganized, over crowded with contractors and checkout lines are long. I guess its too small a store for the location and its always over-crowded. Most of the home depots i've seen are the same and that includes this one. aisles full of hardware supplies, tools, bathroom accessories and even a small nursery for gardening. My favorite section is the tool section seeing that I'm a DIY-er. (Do it yourself) if you didn't already know that. I enjoy building, maintaining and fixing things in my own home as opposed to hiring a contractor and paying a boat load. I'm best known at the Home Depot in monroeville. I come in there so often a lot of the employees know me just by my dog. Yes my dog, who i have brought into this store several times. They allow pets i'm assuming because i've never been asked to leave and I've seen others with their pets as well. That's the best part about the store is the animal policy and the fact that they offer enough supplies for you to practically build a house. Some things are cost efficient while others are kinda breaking the bank. There not as modern as lowes but they have alot of the same products. I recently built my own in home bar. t's 8 by 2, a long bar that i (a girl) built by hand. I'm very proud of the work i did. I installed lights and polished it and it has a resin top with ceramic tiles beneath it. It's a real beauty and i got all the supplies at home depot. Cost me about $600 to make but i put it together in 2 months so that's a plus. But yea if your in need of some nice plants to go in the kitchen or patio OR you just want to spruce up a few things around the house, then this Mega home repair store is where you ought to be. This Home Depot is not enforcing the mask mandate. Employees are great, but many customers are wearing masks under their chins and even blatantly not at all with no consequences. The community spread is at an all time high right now. Fish out of water here when it comes to hardware related things. I mean I know how to swing a hammer and push a button to start a machine, but all the other stuff...meh. I've only really gone in here to pick up paint, so I'll focus on that. I feel bad for the lady that works the paint counter. Each time I'm in there she always seems to be by herself with a line of customers all wanting there base paint tinted. Very poor service. Deliver set for 2 weeks, only to be cancelled at the last minute. 2nd time this has happened. Don't trust these guys - they hire outside contractors to deliver (who are extremely unreliable), they don't hire real people to take calls but instead send you to an automated system which after a 1/2 hour, hangs up on you. Just a really poor company with poor service. Have had much better experience with Don's Appliances, Lowe's, Houston-Starr. Real people, real discussions, honest behavior. I don't get why they have so many employees but refuse to help customers! First off, they canceled my online order for pickup and there's nothing they can do. So I have to find things at the store, which totally wasted time! Their inventory is all over the place and then I need help to find stuff. One staff kept me waiting for over 10-15 minutes, and then told me that she cannot help me because she was "assisting" other customers. And she pointed out the another man could offer help. Then the man gave a huge attitude and said that he cannot help me because he was "assisting" other customers as well while simply playing with his phone. WTF. we had carpet installed the women who sold us the carpet was very nice,but the company that installed the carpeting was not very professional.The very first time they came to the house they said we had to much in one of the bedrooms to do the job{but the whole house was getting carpeting all bedrooms and living dining room and steps so if they would have told us we could have moved the things and they could have started in a different room or started on the first floor. they walked out the door to call his supervisor,but left then we got a phone call that we needed to reschedule our appointment. We were not given any help with booking us sooner than later and was not given any compensation for our trouble and on top of all of this I have severe health issues so the stress of this did not help with my health issues read more

Wasted 2 hours on the phone and in person to finally find out when the 700dollar order I placed was to be delivered. I was first given an order that wasn't mine , luckily I caught the error and then had an ignorant yinzer lady start to raise her voice which went over like a lead balloon to me. After 45 min face yo face I was finally given some paper saying I would get delivery in 2 days . The paperwork didn't even have a listing of what I ordered so we will see just how accurate the delivery is. Wow, this place gets railed in some of these reviews, but I actually kinda like this store. It's your standard Home Depot in terms of product selection, so there is nothing too notable in that regard. The customer service experiences I've had here have actually been mostly positive. Over the last several months, I've been going paint crazy in our house, so I'm pretty much on a first name basis with the guys at the Home Depot paint counter (it's kind of embarrassing that I'm there so much to the point where they know me, but whatever). Anyway, Jamaal and the rest of the paint department staff have always been very helpful, giving me tips and advice on paint color, type, tools, etc. They're patient with me when I request tons of paint samples (and I know how super annoying that is). Dare I even say that I look forward to getting my paint here?! As another example, we get our Christmas tree at Home Depot every year, and we've always been very pleased with how nice the staff has been in helping us tie it to our car. And just the other day my husband and I were in the plumbing aisle sizing up tools to help us unclog a drain, and an employee walked up to us and asked us if he could help. So nice. In fact, I can only recall one less-than-positive experience here, and it was when an employee mis-cut some wood for us (which we didn't know until we got it home and it wouldn't fit in our subfloor). So I guess the service hasn't been 100% perfect every time I've been here, but for a big box home improvement store, I've been very pleased overall. I do hate the parking lot though. Every time we go here, we pretty much count on the fact that someone will almost hit us, either while we're driving or walking into the store. Also, we have a compact car, but yet it seems like we barely fit in the parking spaces. With such a huge lot available, I'm not sure why they felt the need to make the parking spaces extra small, but it just adds to the craziness of the lot. read more

I dont stop in Home Depot too often. I'm an apartment dweller and while i spend countless hours on Pinterest, I dont do too many DIY projects. I've been in this home depot a few times for random things i decide i need. It's also closer to me than (dare i say it) walmart and if you use both websites, many things at this home depot are priced better. For example, my bathroom is small and has no windows so sometimes the air is moist. I looked online for good products and found "Damp Rid" it had nice reviews and seemed to be easy to figure out. This store only charged $3 for that item while walmart charged $7.50. Judge me but i also like walking around home depot.. checking out different types of kitchen cabinets or bath tubs whenever i come in. An employee was happy to help us locate the damp rid and he had a good idea where it was located. Also, everyone we came across said hello and was kind. it was actually surprising. Kudos to home depot. They are doing something right to have so many happy employees. Yesterdays experience is the reason for 4 stars. read more

I am not a DYI person and I have found in the past my Home Depot experiences in other branches (in the DC area) to be frustrating and exhausting. This one has been great! Always have been able to find someone to help (unlike in DC). They actually walk you to the item instead of saying, "that's in Plumbing, not my department." (unlike in DC). And they seem happy to be at work (unlike in DC). I have done a lifetime of Home Depot trips in a week, but I would actually shop regularly at this one for cleaning supplies, etc. read more

Employee was very fast and pleasant as he cut my keys (which work perfectly in my doors). Only downside is the parking lot craziness. We were bopping around on Memorial Day and when we realized Union Pig and Chicken was closed, we needed something else to do so my husband and I ventured over to Home Depot to get some stuff in the Garden area for planting herbs at home. They had such a large selection, and everything for the most part was easy to find. The staff that was in there seemed quite pleasant too. Last February I went to The Home Depot with the intent to get a portable AC unit and I left with two lovely house plants and the AC. My plants are doing great thriving and looking good. I got a spider plant and a golden pathos. They had a rather impressive selection of indoors plants. My only regret is that I didn't get a peace lily while I was there. I purchased my first ever air conditioner and I'm happy I did so at The Home Depot. I have terrible luck with appliances. In my experience no matter how much I pay , be it $30 or $ 300.00 my appliances always seem to stop running right after the manufactures warranty expires. So I opted for the additional year of coverage which cost peanuts. I believe the additional protection it was less then $15.00 dollars. To this day I find it funny that my hubby and I purchased THE LAST PORTABLE AC the store had, remember guys this was last February. So apparently there was a run on ACs last winter. Anyway it's still working great even after I dropped a screw inside of it on accident and I'm happy with my purchase. The staff did a good job helping us find the AC and I'd be more then happy to spend additional dollars at The Home Depot. I might even get that peace lily after all. read more

I've shopped at several Pittsburgh locations over and while all staff are friendly and helpful there's something special about the crew at the East Liberty location. It doesn't matter if I'm buying light bulbs it a sink, they take the time to go over any and all questions with attentiveness and care. Having custom made paint mixed is always a breeze. read more

This is a pretty good HD. It is somewhat smaller than the ones in Ross Park and Monroeville, but they seem to stock most of the same items. Occasionally I do need to go to Monroeville to find specific items, however. With a 1920s house, I spend quite a bit of time here for getting materials for repairs. Customer service is about average. Some people are very helpful, others not so much. In general, they seem to be better than the Lowes at the Waterfront. At least HD people know where items are in the store. I can't tell you how many times I've received completely different (and wrong) answers to finding stuff at Lowes. I would prefer a small hardware store (such as an Ace) closer to me for things like nuts, bolts, and screws. Ace seems to have a better selection than HD does for hard-to-find items. HD has most of the basics covered, however, and probably a little cheaper. I generally avoid their paint section except for equipment. I prefer the service at a Sherwin-Williams or Masterwork Paint store. We've had decent luck with their garden department. We've had to return a few plants that died the day after we planted them, but they have never given us any problems with returns. It's a big-box home improvement store, for better or worse. It's a convenient location with a decent selection. 'Nuff said. read more

It's right in the middle of a neighborhood and it's really busy it's a little hard to get to if your not from the area but they have lots of parking. It's my go to place for home improvement or gardening. The place is well organized and the staff is not very helpful. read more
