My decision to make a purchase at McQueen's was based solely on the fact that it was a locally owned business and not a large box chain store given that you are normally given excellent customer service with locally owned businesses. Boy was I wrong! I was actually hung up on by one of the owner's for no warranted reason and then given run around for service that was suppose to be complete 4 weeks prior. I have been going there for a few years and always bring my young children to help Mom pick some flowers for the table. I considered this a relatively fun adventure and memory for all of us until today. I usually always see a young woman working who is pleasant and always smiling at my children. Today I had a shocking experience with who I believe is the owner of the store, throwing every sensible, loving quality a human can possess out the window in regarding my son. At the cash you will find fully wrapped homemade bath bombs in neon colours, my son being 5 who is non verbal and autistic did NOT understand that it was a bath bomb and was holding and playing with it like a ball, just in his hands I might add. There was no throwing it around at all. Considering he was just holding it I didn't see it being a problem until I had paid. As I was paying for my flowers my son was behind me, and apparently it was near his mouth without my knowing! Instead of LETTING ME KNOW, she grabbed it from my sons hands and said he shouldn't be playing with that! I immediately informed her that my son is non verbal and does NOT understand the concepts and the fact that it was a bath bomb. She then looked and me as she was walking in the back and said "but you do." I was so upset that someone could be so heartless in targeting my parenting, let alone that my son did not understand. After confronting her about it over the telephone, I was so disgusted when she added "I should watch my kids" when all 3 of my children are very well behaved. (I would never bring them to a place were it is fragile in hopes they wouldn't break something!!) coming from the owner herself, this is the POOREST quality in customer service I have EVER seen!!! On top of loosing my business from your flower shop, I would like to make this public for all to see in hopes you are not victimized and targeted, the same way I was left feeling today!!! I've been in Photo World in Sudbury a few times now, and will never return. Each time, I'm treated…read morecondescendingly, and every response I get from the staff is not only unhelpful, but also derogatory and counterproductive. They seem to function in a way that "The customer is NEVER right". I normally just look the other way from these events, but am repulsed by the lack of customer satisfaction at this store. Now here's the kicker: I've spoken about this with half a dozen friends, and they've all had some very memorable experiences. Here are a few direct quotes from different friends, and i'm sure if i were to dig, i'd find more: - "My friend is new to Canada, and they were VERY rude to her!" - "that's why I stopped going there" - "I'll never go in there again... The son was nice, the dad was the worst person I think I've ever met in my life." - "Yup... I've experienced this lots. The only saving grace is the young brunette... the rest seem so morose. Won't go back." To be fair, one of them said: "They've been great to us every time... think it depends on if you get the son or the father." But, I don't think any business working on a "1 out of 5 ain't bad" system could strive. Either way, they seem to treat their customers poorly, and the more I mention it to friends, the more I hear horror stories. A couple of facts: -You're not allowed to send them tiffs or similar big images, their system "can't handle them". -Your photos have to be on a USB stick (not on a card). Otherwise they get mad at you. -You can't email them photos. -You can't send them a link to the photos (otherwise, they charge you for the time it takes them to download the file.) -They'd first ask you to leave the store and come back with the proper formatting before they bend ANY of their rules. -Go in prepared to argue, because that's all they seem to do.

Even when Canada Post tried misplacing our film, they seemed as distressed as we were! Maybe some people just need to learn that there are guidelines with every business. If they require a certain file type or size, that's just the way it is. No sense in getting upset if you're asking for something they don't offer.

I walked in knowing nothing about wine, and I'm glad that they had enough basic information to help me decide on what I liked and got it going, it was ready in the time frame that they said it would be and the cost was very reasonable. They teach you how everything is done if you are interested and then you get to help bottle everything in the end, laws in Ontario require you to bottle your own wine, so you have to help!
