I had the best experience at this Home Depot yesterday! I don't usually right reviews but the phenomenal service I got from one of the managers yesterday blew me away. I think his name was Brandon or something, so sorry I don't remember. yesterday I went in and purchashed over $1,000 worth of tools most of which I bought double. when I got home (on an island an hour and a half away) I realized I got double charged for an air hose. when I called up the store they were so incredibly helpful and after a few questions they promptly sent me back the money. thank you so much for your help and making my day! read more

Over the years I have had good service from Home depot and their representatives. However they have all been instore purchases. Recently we needed to buy a larger item (RHEEM hot water tank) and had to do it on line. This by far has been the worst retail purchase I have ever experienced. 1st - It arrived without notice , no warning it was coming, they just showed up unannounced. 2nd -hired a plumber and he removed the old tank and went to install the new. Turns out the unit was really poor quality and was unusable. So we asked for a replacement. 3rd - they don't do replacements, you need to return it and after you finally get a refund, you can order a new one. 4th - Paid the plumber as he was still standing around waiting to see if we could get a replacement. Oh did I mention, we now have no hot water. 5th - we requested a return and they sent a lable and and order for pick up. But no one ever showed up to pick up, so we called (AGAIN) and they said no one put in for the order for pickup, but they will do it now. 6th - at the end of the conversation it says to stay on the line for a review, only they would not hang up as they didn't want a bad review, so they put us on hold (with bad music) after 30 min, we hung up. We called back and asked to speak to a manager and was told NO. She said they were dealing with the issue and I could not speak to a manager. Lets just say , we may buy from home depot, But NEVER any large items or online orders as there was absolutely no support from Home Depot So we are stuck with buying a tank from another source and Paying the plumber again. We ordered an LG induction range on Feb 18, 2024. Here's the sequence of events that followed: 1) A few days before the week of scheduled delivery, we got a couple of phone msgs announcing the delivery date of Feb 29. 2) On Feb 28, we got emails announcing the window of delivery on Feb 29. One of these emails told us what to do to prepare for delivery and said that the delivery people WILL NOT unplug the old range, nor will they install the new range. We had been assured at time of purchase that the new range will be installed and the old range uninstalled and removed. So someone at the front end screwed up and did not order delivery with installation! 3) Feb 28 - we frantically got on the phone with HD support, and after a long conversation they assured us they would send an emergency work-order on Feb 29 for someone to come and unplug and slide out the old range, before the delivery people came. 4) Feb 29 early afternoon, a man from quickcontractors.com came to the house. He put on shoe protectors, walked to the kitchen, pulled out the range, unplugged it, left it in the middle of the kitchen, and left. He did not know why HD would pay him just to come and do that. 5) Feb 29, early evening. The B&N delivery people came. They drove halfway up the driveway (???), parked right there and unloaded the new range. They put it on a small dolly and wheeled it up the driveway to the front door. The dolly had picked up mud and gravel from the wet driveway and my husband had to tell them too clean it up with a towel that he had to provide them, when it became obvious they intended to bring that dirty dolly inside and use it. They then took the dolly and went into the kitchen to pick up the old range - they did not use shoe covers and brought dirt and gravel into the house; they did not bring a rug or blanket to put on the floor when they picked up the range and scratched the floor (something I did not see until after they left, or else I would not have signed the form). When they returned to try and bring the new range in, they picked up our front door mat and used it to bring the range down from the dolly, again bringing dirt into the house. 4) they slid the new range into place WITHOUT removing the tape that was all around the sides and top of the machine. My husband noticed and told them they had to do that. SO they yanked the range out and lifted it and tried to rip off all the tape. 5) They proceeded to leave after that but my husband said they had to make sure the range was level-- they tried to adjust the legs, with a level that WE HAD TO PROVIDE and showed us that they did not know what they were doing. Finally, in exasperation, after a few attempts, they told us to call HD. This was the worst delivery service we've ever encountered! We called HD right away and were told someone would call us the next day (Friday), or Saturday. 6) March 1(Friday) - we waited all day but no one called to tell us if they had made a work-order for an installer to come in and fix things. 7) March 2 - another lengthy phone call to HD Customer Support -- at first they told us that "someone" from B&N would, at some time, call us to schedule an appt for service. My husband said that was unacceptable because we didn't want another encounter with that company and have to deal with people who didn't know what they were doing again. They finally agreed to contact quickcontractors.com and authorize a work-order, but now it will probably be until next week before they would call us to make an appointment. So, my conclusion is this: think carefully before you buy a big appliance from Home Depot! Their follow-up on ensuring that they hire professional contractors to deliver and install the appliance cannot be guaranteed. Our experience this first time is extremely unsatisfactory. We are very unhappy with this purchase, and we haven't even had a chance to try out the new range yet. Poh Z read more

We purchased a new LG washer and dryer from Home Depot, thinking that they were a reputable company. They are not. Nor is LG. The washer didn't work properly from the start. Neither company stands behind their product and refuse to replace it. We have had repair people out several times over the last month and a half to repair our NEW machine and still don't have a functioning machine. We have been loyal LG customers for years. Not anymore. We should have listened to all the recent reviews and nightmare stories. if you buy from them you are taking your chances. You may get lucky but if not don't expect them to care or give you anything but lip service. read more

Wish that one could give this place less than one star. This place is rather convenient to our home, so we have gone there quite a few times over the past year of living in the neighborhood. Every single time the service is terrible or a nonexistent. The employees are extremely rude and belligerent every single time we go in. ! Rudeness sarcasm and a lack of information regarding the department in which they work , seem to be the qualities on which the hiring Interview at Home Depot is based. The lackadaisical, contemptuous attitude at Home Depot is borderline abusive to customers. Please, if you are looking for anything that this store sells, just go directly to Lowe's either at Tillicum mall or out in Langford. Seriously take our advice and avoid avoid avoid this place. Ooooooooh! We were sooooo lucky!! We stopped here after having our Monte Cristo at the Loghouse Pub (see glowing review) because we needed to pick up a few more items for Mum's house. One of the items we needed was flooring and did they ever have flooring!!! They had mounds of flooring on sale at really great prices!! **okay. stop. breath.** Now that I've had my little moment of excitement, let me say that this Home Depot is perfect. Keith really helped us out when we were looking at baseboard heaters. He's a real charmer so watch yourselves ladies! Thirty-five years as a plumber, Keith decided to give his expertise to Home Depot and the customers are the winners. He was funny, knowledgeable and just downright fun! Everyone else was really helpful too, but thanks Keith for helping us and keeping us entertained during our time with the Langford HD! TIP: BIG parking lot for those manly trucks!! read more

There is nothing I hate worse than when you are being waited on (customer Service or check-out) and the employee engages in an ongoing conversation with a fellow employee. Especially bad when Customer Service loses the computer info. they were dealing with because of the talking and has to keep redoing it. Meanwhile, the customer is waiting !! This store seems to have a lot of this going on. Why doesn't management speak to the employees about this, as they don't seem to have a clue. The other thing I have noticed is that employees don't seem to want to make eye contact with a customer as they just might as a question or require assistance. Last year just after Christmas we went into Home Depot in Langford, BC to order custom window blinds as we have done many times in the past. No one to be found to help. We found a toll-free number to speak with Home Depot installation services. After several weeks and several calls to Home Depot, we finally heard from 3D. We gave them the exact blinds we wanted (from a previous home we purchased for) including reference to a previous quote/order and a very detailed spreadsheet. After several months of getting nowhere, as the individual from 3D could not find the blind in the colour we wanted. I figured out when we finally got a quote (with us changing colour selection) she the wrong blind type selected! Finally, she listened and found that the correct style with the desired colour was available--months later! Quote delivered--missing blinds in the order. Funny--we on initial contact supplied a spreadsheet with all window measurements, blind type and colour. All this could have been avoided, if she just cared to listen. The fun with 3D and Home Depot continued. Blinds were delivered to 3D and an installation date set--5 months later. Installer showed up at 5PM exhausted. Opened the blinds and the blind units (which had a light blocking and sheer) only had the sheers and required chains to be corrected--yep, she screwed up the order! A month later, installer showed up again at the end of the day, again exhausted. He and I fixed some of the blinds, but he needed to again have additional parts ordered and left without finishing the job. At this point, it was six months post going into Home Depot. Installer had parts delivered to our home this time but never arranged to come back and complete the roller retrofits (all units needed to be disassembled, parts changed/added and reassembled) and installation. We are almost a year later. Home Depot finally noticed they never billed the second 50% of the price, but has now done so even though they never completed the install. We were offered $200 compensation along the way but required waiver, which we weren't prepared to sign as the installer hadn't even install half the blinds and we only had half the rollers. So, use caution with Home Depot. Management only once ever followed-up. Home Depot installation services was rude and not helpful. 3D--well, not sure how they are staying in business. Funny--their competition warned me this would happen! read more

Order ready for pickup, we'll no it isn't ready. Some things ordered were not available, but no information was passed until I drive down there. Can't complete project without missing items, so therefore don't need the entire order. When I complained they were wasting my time, I was told that I had "attitude". To get my refund I had to go to customer service and wait, for service. Poor service, poor procedures and poor attitudes. Will spend my money elsewhere. read more

It was time for a new BBQ.......Home Depot or Capital Iron? Both had the BBQ I wanted, Home Depot offered the assembly for free, and charged $75 for delivery. Capital Iron did the same for an added $200 but also offered disposal of the BBQ. I decided to go with Home Depot: First they delivered the wrong BBQ 2 days later they delivered the correct BBQ but it was broken...... Tried calling 2 numbers to try to get them to pick it up.....over 30 minutes on 2 separate lines and no 'person' answered, but I can learned all about their 'curbside' delivery. Moral of the story, pay the $200 and use capital iron read more

Sent son and daughter in law to purchase a patio set and parasol on Monday. They sealed the deal mid-morning and paid for delivery arrangements slated Thursday. They wanted to order online but the set they wanted was available in-store only. Thursday came and by mid afternoon the set hadn't arrived so daughter-in-law (DIL) starts calling. Several calls made, much time spent on hold and being transferred, hung up upon a few times, finally a promise that someone would call back (and never did). Another call to be informed that the set would only be delivered now on Friday morning. This in spite of Deliver Services document having the Thursday date on it. Friday mid morning still no set (or call) so again DIL starts to call. Repeat the hold, transfer, hold, call again process until eventually someone informs her that the "courier only delivers in the afternoon" and hence to expect delivery after 3pm. At that point we get involved ; to be precise , my spouse calls, and she is not to be trifled with. Speaks with last person DIL spoke with and escalates to a higher manager. Lays card on table giving summary of the transaction, agreed upon delivery date, many calls and unreturned calls, lack of courtesy notifications, etc - we're not happy and what are you going to do about it? Manager /supervisor begins to ask when had the purchase been made, maybe it was too late in the day ( was not, in fact c. 10:40 am on Monday), i.o.w. fishing for an excuse, but none to be had. Says they contract out delivery services and same are only made in afternoons. Spouse responds with "then why promise morning delivery if it's not available? You're a big-box store, this is not your first BBQ, get your customer and delivery services ducks in order!" Manager says they are trying to improve said services. Manager's best offer of compensation was to refund the (substantial) delivery fee and promise delivery sometimes between 3-4pm same day (Friday, a day late). Now all this sounds trivial but special arrangements were made to make sure someone was home on Thursday, putting off all other plans, and then those plans had to be put off again on Friday, so two wasted days. Indeed, this store's customer service handling is attrocious and greatly leaves to be desired of. Having read a review of a month ago by Elizabeth L on (YELP) store page with essentially same issues, this should be a big red flag to anyone contemplating delivery from this store, and /or getting any acceptable service in dealing with phone inquiries. If anyone from the store reads these reviews - hint HINT folks: get your act together! As yet to be seen if we finally get the delivery in good order, within the promised time frame.... ----------- Saturday morning: Friday came...and went. No call, no patio set. I don't know if any of the managers in the Langford store read this. But it would be to your advantage to corner the market on items to fit mobile homes. The doors, tubs, windows. I Have to be custom ordered from the states. If you only catered to the up and coming explosions of mobile home parks., you would definitely corner the market. Especially the tubs. Smaller than a regular tub and has been impossible to find. Now back to your review, the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. But they can not understand either, why you do not buy according to demand in Langford. But the buys decide what to buy. Not the staff that listen to the consumers. read more

YOU WILL BE VERY LUCKY IF YOU GET the DELIVERY WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING it FROM HOME DEPOT. Good prices on large appliances yes! ABYSMAL TRACK RECORD ON DELIVERY? Hell, YES! This is the 2nd time I've ordered an appliance. Last Saturday, I was told 16 fridges of the one I want were in stock and to expect delivery Thursday. Yesterday, I got a call saying expect delivery Thursday. Today, a message was left by the same person, Jay, saying don't expect delivery because they're not going to get the fridge I ordered for 2-3 days! Whaaaat???!!! Meanwhile, I've sold my fridge and I specifically told the buyer I need her to get it preferably Thursday, not later than Friday. I don't want to lose her purchase, by delaying her and what am I supposed to do with all the fresh and frozen food in the meantime??? If it's not delivered Thursday while I'm off work this week, it'll make it really hard to coordinate again! If Home Depot is having problems with their delivery people, why don't they find someone else??!! Duh!!! They'll happily take full payment for the product right away, but don't count on them to ensure the product is delivered when they say it will be. Terrible!!! After I told one of the store manager guys the problem, he said, "I'll call you back sooner or later. Me: What!?! No, no no, I want you to call me back within an hour with an update!" Another guy said, the delivery date was approximate. ME: No, on the invoice, it says "Scheduled delivery date: 06.04.2017". That's the date I was told. 1st world problem I know, but this kind of customer service stress is preventable by HD. Never again!! UPDATE! I've spent most of the last 4 hours on the phone with various people from HD including the manager. He told me that he was on the phone to Toronto and apparently the fridge is on the truck, but no one knows where it is! I called Toronto myself and apparently my fridge IS here, but the delivery people didn't get my order until Monday, so today is too late to deliver it and they won't deliver it until NEXT Thursday. Hellooooo? Some people have jobs and can't just take off to stay home hoping a delivery will be made when they say so. All I'm asking for is a loaner to be put on any truck and delivered here today!!! Unbelievable!!!! Never, never again! The stress just isn't worth it! UPDATE: Turns out they DID receive the fridge for delivery today, but can't deliver until NEXT week. ME: No, no, no! What am I going to do about the food, buyer for my fridge, won't be here next Thursday?? Now it turns out they have to get special permission to deliver it tomorrow. Waiting. . . . It's a miracle! Put in an order to have someone come by for a quote. They said someone would be in contact within 48hrs. A week went by, and after spending an hour on hold, they told me someone had cancelled my request and they would start another one, and that someone would be in touch within 48 hours. Three days later I get an email from a contractor asking what I want I wanted done because home Depot did not provide them with any details for what I wanted done. I told them what I wanted, and then three days later they told me they didn't do that kind of work. Frustrated beyond belief at this point, I went into the store, and after the guy at the pro shop straight up LIED to me to get me to go away, I finally talked to someone who SEEMED, willing to help. He took down my contact information and told me this would be moved to high priority and would be moved to the store manager who would get ahold of me the next day. 48hours later, no one has gotten a hold of me, so I call and they tell me they don't offer the services I was requesting. Garbage service, garbage phone system. Piss poor all around. If you're over the age of 50, I'm sure it's possible to get great service there, as all the employees (most over 50), were more than willing to chat for hours with those who had grey hair. I'm not the only person to notice this^^^^ I was forced to delay me listing date for my property. And it cost me $$$.... This is a terrible place. I will NEVER shop there again. And I hope other do the same. These people should go out of business. read more

I ordered an item online that had four different parts/ pieces to it, initially I had checked the box to have it shipped to us. but two days later I recieved an email telling me that my order had been cancelled because of an invalid postal code!? Why they couldn't just contact me to say that they don't ship to my area was very frustrating... so I started all over again only to find that two of the four items were now out of stock and would have to be shipped to the millstream store for pickup... because I live a ferry ride away I didn't want to pick the order up until all the pieces were there, but after waiting on hold for an hour and chatting for an hour by text it wasn't resolved.. So the next morning I got up early and phoned and spoke with Lee, a manager, who was amazing and helpful and made sure everything would wait until the other 2 pieces were there, then phoned me at home to let me know when they arrived! 5 stars for Lee and 3 stars for the online order system! read more

this store has lost all their good employees due to poor treatment of their staff. I know of someone who quit after 10 yrs of dedicated service. This is my first negative review I have ever felt compelled to make . I bought a new condo and was planning to replace the fridge . I went in to Home Depot to look at the fridge Model I was planning to buy elsewhere .In talking with the salesperson , I could order the fridge and have it delivered on a date that worked well with me (Dec.16) and also receive a 10 Percent discount. I was very happy with that offer and purchased the fridge . I went in a few days later and also purchased a dishwasher and then a stove, with the same delivery date . I was very happy with the service at that point and I was told I would receive a call the day before delivery to set up the time . I received a call from Ontario ( I live in Victoria B.C. ), the night before it was to arrive , to say that my fridge was not coming and they could not give me any information of when I would be getting it. This was December 15th , a week and a half before Xmas . I had just sold my current fridge which was picked up that day to ensure I had space for my new fridge . I was upset to say the least . I could get no information from the person who called me and I Immediately called the Home Depot store that I bought the fridge from. I talked with the department manager who also gave me no Information. He said he would look into it and call me back. No one called. The following day there was still no response and I called and asked to speak to a manager. I was directed to the Asst. Mg. . He also had no information and said he would look into it . I then got a a call back from someone else to tell me my fridge was on backorder and that is why it was not shipped. The person said LG would give me a call that evening . ( they did not call . ) The person said It would probably be shipped out from Ontario on the following Monday and when it arrived they would contact me to set up a new delivery date . The only idea of when I would get my fridge was that I may not have it for Xmas . I was at some point chastised for not knowing how thier shipping process works at which I felt I needed to explain that I do not work for Home Depot . I have no fridge at this point , no apology , items on my counter to go into the fridge and no reason from the company as to why I was not called about this problem until the evening before delivery. Not one person I spoke with seemed to care or acknowledge any inconvience to me. I seemed to be the inconvience. I was put on a conference call with this person and connected to the Asst.Mg. who I had talked with previously that day. I asked the manager if they had a loaner fridge and he said they could not give me a loaner . I asked if I could be given thier demo model on thier floor and that was a no . I was told to go buy one at Trail appliances down the road and that they have stock in thier warehouse . Home Depot would refund my money . I was not asking for a refund . I just had no fridge and had no idea for how long that would be.? I asked if I could find The same model and have it delivered quickly , would they cover a price difference . He said no and that they were not prepared to do anything for me. I told him with short notice, I was not going be able to set up a new delivery elsewhere and I need a fridge. I did call Trail Appliances as he suggested and they did not have one in stock . I also called other stores and was not able to find one either that could be picked up or delivered on short notice . The lack of customer service was surprising and disappointing . I not only do not have a fridge but i do not have a date when I will? Being in the process of a new move with company coming for Xmas and to be treated without any courtesy, consideration or efforts to find a quick resolution, is beyond me? Home Depot had two weeks to give me a call if there was any problem . To get a call with no details the night before delivery that it has not even been shipped is extremely poor business . I do not believe the fridge was on backorder but rather it had just not been ordered by the salesperson. I did receive a call with the delivery for my stove and dishwasher , which arrived as scheduled but even that call did not come in until after 9 p.m the night before? I took time off work to be home for this delivery and will now need to take more time at some point for a second delivery . Mistakes happen , but this is not MY error . As a long term customer, they could not have done a better job at expressing just how inconvienent and unimportant my business is to them . I will be incurring costs as far as lost wages , time , expense of purchasing or renting a small camper fridge , dining out as well as loss of items that needed refrigeration. I am a mid 30's professional who was at the millstream location Sunday after noon. My boyfriend had payed for his goods at front til which was around 200 dollars. I was at the counter where people buy their lumber, I purchased one poinsettia and a piece of wood, total 12 dollars. 2 only. My bf carried the piece of lumber, I carried the poinsettia, as we going out the door, a lady on til shouted at us. She asked us to see our receipt, very loudly. It was the most embarrassing moment ever. I do suspect the reason being, is my boyfriend is black.Had that been a older couple and a white couple ,they would not of been stopped. I am calling the company tomorrow and complaining. I want a formal written apology letter. Last time I checked home depot is not like Walmart, they do not ask all leaving for a receipt. Thank god, the man who served me at the lumber section saw this happen and came to my defense. Funny thing is he brought the receipt to show the lady because he actually did not even give me one. So thankfully he still had it. Make sure to get your receipt if in another section paying, if you have a spouse of a foreign decent ,hang on to receipt as you may be stopped and accused of being a theif. I will not go back to shop there again ever and will spread the word about the way customers are treated. read more

I would like to rate my experience as 0 stars as I don't feel they deserve a single star. I live 14 hours away from my sons with whom we were helping to renovate an apartment for them. The apartment needed to be completely gutted and redone. As part of the renovation, I ordered and paid for vinyl flooring to be installed. I was contacted by Home Depot and they confirmed that the flooring was available and would be delivered in 3 weeks. I booked the installation and emphasized to them that I needed to book time off work to travel down there when the flooring would be installed. They assured me that everything was good to go and confirmed the installation dates. Both my husband and I booked time off work to be there for the installation and to prepare for the installation and to then complete the renovation and to move them into their apartment. Since we can not install toilets, cabinets, vanities or appliance until after the flooring was installed it was extremely critical that everything was installed on time and they assured me that everything was booked and on track. Three weeks after I paid for the flooring and booked the installation and only one day before the installation was set to occur, I received a phone call advising me that the flooring had not arrived, but they were still hopeful that it would arrive the next day. Later that day, I received another phone call advising me that the product that I ordered had been discontinued and the installation would not be going forward. I was not offered any solutions. I explained to them that I had booked time off work, travelled 14 hours and was left in an extremely difficult situation because we would now not be able to install their toilets, vanities or cabinets or appliances and could not move my sons into an apartment without being able to finish. I said that I would like to speak with someone with Home Depot to see what they were going to do to help me deal with this problem. I was told that someone would call me back within 2 hours and it has now been 8 days and no one ever called me back. We ended up having to spend 2800 on alternate readily available flooring which is not what we wanted and had to install it ourselves. This took us 3 days and we were not able to finish what we set out to do and although they got moved in, there are many things that could not get done because of this delay. There were so many break downs in communication and employees don't care about the customers. Extremely frustrated and disappointed and considering legal action. read more
