Claire was amazing. She's full of energy and cheerfulness. She has a great sense of humor and could keep us going while we sorted through a ton of stuff. Our whole project seemed overwhelming. Great experience with Claire! This was my first time working with a professional organizer and she far surpassed all expectations. I had recently moved and hadn't yet finished unpacking when my new baby was born. Now with a 2 year old and a 2 month old at home, there was no way I would find the time to unpack all my clothes and get myself ready to return to work. My brother "gifted" me Claire's services to get my closet unpacked and organized. She provided an initial consultation call to understand my needs. She asked great questions and made me feel very comfortable. Upon arrival, she was very friendly and remembered what we had talked about beforehand. She was efficient, kind, incredibly helpful without without being pushy. She made all my priorities become her priorities and I never felt like she was judging me or my mess at all. My daughter's room had become so messy and full of stuff that the stuff and the room had become unusable. It was too overwhelming for my daughter to go through it herself, and for me to help would not have been good for our relationship. So, we agreed on calling in a third party. My daughter is very shy and she was very nervous, but Claire quickly put her at ease. Claire was very respectful and kind and my daughter felt very supported. With Claire's support, my daughter was able to sort out what she wanted and let go of the rest. Later that day she said, "I feel lighter, and it was actually fun." OOOOOOOH MY GOODNESS!!! I hope before photos were taken!!! =D I had first heard Claire give a presentation about the care she takes with her clients and the gentle yet profound accomplishments they achieve together in a surprisingly short amount of time and I was hopeful. Her calm sincerity, warmth and acceptance of people where they are in their "process of letting go", of holding on, of attachment to things and the memories and perceived value they believe they hold was so evident--I imagined if anyone could connect with and help my Mom in the enormously daunting tasks that faced her, it would probably be Claire. It took months for my Mom to finally agree to outside help like "The Home Weeder"; Her hope instead was that she and I alone together could go through her endless and teetering stacks of boxes that have stuffed her entire garage. Not only can I not take that kind of time off of work, but I personally couldn't face all of the bittersweet sentimentalism that I knew so much of it would hold--to me, it's clearly held her back for so many years from feeling free and living more of her life in today instead of a lifetime of yesterdays encased in 'things'. So thank Goodness my Mom finally accepted Claire's help. It was a bumpy start emotionally for Mom--what with feelings of embarrassment and anxiety--and she was ready to call it quits from the get-go; but Claire has been genuinely empathetic and flexible at just the right times when my Mom was feeling upset and overwhelmed while also being reassuring and encouraging when Mom was ready get in there and give it another go. Claire has been able to share thrill over finding things with Mom that she hadn't seen in years and appreciate the value of the things she treasures in a way that I never could because I guess I'm too close to the situation. Over the last couple of months, a lifetime of things have been rediscovered, appreciated, incorporated into her life today or bid farewell to go on and grace another's. Claire The Home Weeder together with my Mom has been transforming a dark, hazardous garage into my Mom's dream of a wonderful artist's studio where she can once again paint, draw, create stained-glass windows and do all of the things that truly feed her soul and enrich her life. Claire is helping my Mom go through all of her beautiful artwork that she doesn't plan to hang again and has found appraisers and auction houses that will pay my Mom the price she deserves for it all. Claire has herself taken quilts and blankets that my Mom decided to donate and drove around during our last bitter-cold nights passing them out to exceedingly grateful homeless folks, inspiring Mom to share more of all that she has with others. It seems like this experience is opening my Mom up to the world again--especially the world within her own mind and heart. Claire emboldens her and helps her remember who she was, is and wants to be with a now easeful way of how to make it her living reality. It has been a roller coaster of highs and lows and it takes steadfastness with plenty of breaks along the way, but as the garage space becomes increasingly clearer and lighter, I can hear my Mom's voice and ideas also becoming brighter and her dreams becoming more and more present and attainable. She sounds more like the person I remember her to be from long ago except with a calm and peacefulness that's new and comforting. My Mom is a very kind yet private person, and I know that it feels hugely vulnerable for her to allow someone in to all that is intimate and meaningful and overwhelming to her. And for that reason, Claire is doing something precious and huge no one else could do with the bonding humor, respect and reverence that you might imagine a beloved aunt or a Fairy Godmother might have. It's challenging to adequately express how grateful I am that she came into my Mom's and my life, especially since the experience is unexpectedly and significantly improving the relationship between my Mom and I as well: where before my Mom was hurt and resentful that I didn't want to personally go through this all with her, she now is appreciative and kind-of understanding of my feelings, and I in turn no longer feel guilty and judgmental of myself for not being the one to do that kind of monumental work. Claire and her service is a remarkable gift in the world to those who could benefit from this kind of support and vision of what life can be if we can open up to the possibility of being vulnerable and letting go and seeing the new joy and lightness that inevitably unfolds...Wow! read more

I'd postponed sorting through many, many boxes of belongings stored in my garage for far too long. Every five-star review reflects what I experienced with Claire too. We've had Claire over on at least 3 occasions now and every time we make so much progress. Her organizational help is worth every penny for the peace of mind I now feel when I look around our house. Before she came over, things had gotten totally out of control. Every flat surface was filled with things that weren't supposed to be there. By the time she left, we found homes for those things and so much more. She helped completely reorganize our garage so we could fit more stuff in there AND be able to find it again later. Ever stared at a corner piled high with stuff and walk away? I did this for close to 5 months.... and then I met Claire, The Home Weeder. I asked Claire Rubach the Home Weeder to help me after downsizing from a house to a studio. I felt that my stuff had taken over my space. I was uncomfortably crowded with a mix of the useful, sentimental, old, and unnecessary. I needed help with practical organization and support in deciding what to keep.
