Chances are they do have more options, but the space is too small to accommodate all models. They try their best to get them all out there (as seen by the narrow footpath). The prices are great and they always seem to have a bunch of stuff for reduced prices. It is conveniently located on the strip of Richmond/Camden Streets where lots of other bargains are to be found so why not peek in if your hot pot is on the fritz?

As I had been thinking about getting a stying wand, I decided to get that one, there and then. The sales lady establish that the wand in the window was the only one left and that I could have it for 35 EUR. Result! It's very easy to go to retail parks or shopping centres to buy electrical goods. But I think I will be checking out local small businesses like Gas & Electrical Centre Ltd first before I make a trip to the bigger chains.

On the grand scale of real-life crises, Hoovers just don't feature, not even in a distant runner-up position. So I'm not proud to admit it but won't deny it: when my lovely old Miele slowly wheezed its way to an early grave, it proved the final straw in a litany of domestic failings (the marriage thankfully not one of them, yet) that had occurred that month - the oven, Easter Saturday, the day before seven people were due for Sunday lunch; the car, after too many weeks of that metal-on-metal sound that even the hard-core of stuff-mechanical procrastinators could no longer ignore; the bathroom tap; that effing leak in the extension roof that just won't seem to go away by itself - and I sat right down and cried myself a river. And it's not even like there hadn't been signs. It had been in failing health for months and hadn't received anything but the most cursory of nursing care, from the basic vital-signs manual: the on-off/check the bag/check for obstruction approach, followed by fervent verbal entreaties to just for chrissake finish the job one more time. The bank balance didn't even want to broach the possibility of a new Hoover, and it never occurred to me at first that a repair job was an option in an age of update, upgrade, replace. But bless them to the core of their electrical being, Glasnevin Appliances lives, and were as unfazed by my broken Hoover as a long-in-the-tooth A&E nurse negotiating a drunken waiting room. One health check and phone-call update later, and a treatment plan was outlined involving a pretty reasonable financial outlay and an as-good-as-new Hoover ready for collection one day later. So why not five stars? A small thing. In my book, a customer in front of you takes precedence over one on the phone, when you've already begun dealing with the customer in the shop. It's what the phrase 'Please hold' was invented for, but this is rarely observed in businesses, as phone-call diversion takes precedence over the standing customer almost always. It's a tad annoying. But on the grand scale, I highly recommend trying the repair avenue before consigning another electrical implement to the rubbish heap, and these guys are up to the job.

After a post fire investigation we were told the fire was started from loose connections to the element which was sparking that ignited the fire. After contacting STILLORGAN APPLIANCE REPAIR 2 times by phone and letter, they refuse to respond. THIS FIRE WAS A DIRECT RESULT OF STILLORGAN APPLIANCE REPAIR. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!

Don't waste your hard earned money you will only regret it…read more The day fitter came and started fitting the kitchen i had started highlighting the issue but i was told i should let them finish the job and i can then highlight issues with the showroom directly. After Job was finished i went through the list of issue and highlighted straight away. I was literally told on the phone that they are sick of my complains even though i only spoke with them twice. I was only trying to avoid them from making blunders before it will be to late and  which obviously they did make. I was then told they will address issues after Christmas and new year break and they did send a different fitter to see if issues was real or just made up. Fitter had agreed with me that issues was there and need addressing. Naas shower room sent email refusing to fix issues the way fitter told them these could be fixed and instead told me to go buy another product from another shop e.g. Work top joints had gaps and had leak. The solution is to remove the work tops and re do them. Instead the solution offered by  cash & carry put silicon from the top. Imagine silicon on your work top right where you cook.  The list goes on and on. They didn't care about warranty which was in terms of their business. My advise to all people out there would be avoid cash & carry disaster.

A somewhat cosy yet incredibly well stocked store, you are almost guaranteed to find what you need here. If, for whatever reason you don't they are more than happy to tell you where you can tick that item off the list. No begrudgery against other businesses, just an honest, helpful place that will make you wish you picked up a paintbrush years ago!

I walked into this shop hoping to buy a nice tea cosy, the place is jammers with cool stuff. Things like chopping boards that fold up for easy scooping into a pot, and spatulas with a bump to keep the spatula head off the kitchen table and thus keeping the table clean. These are really good ideas, and you look at the prices and think that they're expensive, but maybe they're good value... Anyway, after a few hours of unsuccessful search, I pull a member of their staff away from her Facebook to ask where Tea Cosies can be found. They have a lot of tea cosies, it has to be said, I spent a good 20 minutes deciding between the cosy shaped like a hen or the bottom up design for €20 In the end, function over fashion, the bottom up design won (see photo). I then remembered I needed a doorstop for the house. I found a bucket'o'doorstops and picked one up, no excitement needed here! At the checkout my bill came to €27, which was €7 for the doorstop. I was like "ok, that's fair", compared to this €20 tea cosy, that seems like the going rate. But thankfully I managed to cop myself on to this absolute ripoff. They are actually trying to charge me €7 for a piece of plastic which does nowt but use friction to resist the door's gravity... So I just went to Dunnes and got one for €0.50 instead!. Anyway, this story only justifies a 2 star location, but they go down to a 1 star shop in my opinion because of their TERRIBLE hours. Stock closes at 5:30, and is closed all Sunday. Suddenly I understand why their prices have to be so high.

So if you're looking for a spatchel, tins, pourers for liquor bottles etc. chances are you'll find it here. The reason I come here quite frequently (every couple of months) is to get my chef knives sharpened. Takes them only a couple of minutes and at 2 Euro a pop it's well worth it! The only downside for a member of the general workforce like me are the opening times. Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 5pm. There's no way I can make that, unless I'm off. Staff are absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable. Can only recommend this place

They are very friendly in this shop and are full of great advice. I dont have a bad thing to say about them. They do take in your old appliances aswell to dump them the right way, this is handy as big appliances cant just be dumped in any old way!

Grocery prices seem reasonable for a commercial supermarket. The wife and I spent 20 euros on enough milk, juice, cereal, fruits and veggies to last a couple days. Not bad considering the two of us spent more than that on just one meal when eating out. Tesco carries globally-known brands, Irish brands, as well as certain things under their own label. The price difference between the store brand and other brands is often significant. There are self-checkout machines as well as traditional cashiers. Either one you choose, you are responsible for bagging your own groceries. Disposable bags are not provided, so bring your own bags or buy a reusable one here. The only thing I thought was weird was how after I had paid for my groceries and my receipt was printing, the cashier demanded to see my card and ID, saying I need to prove that this is my card. Do they treat everybody this way, or did the guy think there was something suspicious about two Asian people with American accents? I mean if I was trying to commit credit card fraud at a supermarket, I'd at least use the self-checkout machine.

However far they stretch, I still think the majority of us most readily associate Tesco with food shopping. There seems to be a Tesco around almost every corner in Ireland and this includes Dublin's Jervis Street. As Heather says, the prices are reasonable. The selection is also decent but you won't find anything too outlandish. It would be nice to see bigger fair trade, natural and organic selections in a supermarket that has so much pull. The 'finest' selection is that bit more gourmet and verges on M&S-style luxury food. Tesco stocks a good selection of ready-made food for the weary and the busy. Tesco claims to support Irish producers and I wouldn't dare to suggest any different but I know some mightily disgruntled Irish farmers who would.
